  1. Cheers Nick. this sounds like one of those basses where i'm just going to enjoy it for how it is and not even worry about who fitted what to it when. If both you and clarky say it sounds great, that's good enough for me
  2. That was an added bonus that got me G.A.S.-ing a bit more. I just really liked how it looked and it ticked all the boxes, but the Wizard pups helped to push me over the edge P.S. Clarky, your phone keeps ringing me from your pocket
  3. Hi, Murphy (do i call you that, or Old Horse??? ) Clarky mentioned this was yours before. Did you fit the Wizards in it yourself? I'm sure I'm gonna love the bass, it's my first ever Fender.... swore I'd never want a Fender ever, but I tried a 62RI at a music shop near me in Bournemouth and was blown away by the difference in tone between my Warwick, Spectors and Lakland and a Fender J. It's not better, just different. Hope this thing sounds in the same ballpark / better. Excited to hear what Wizard pup's are like too
  4. man this Bass has given me a serious case of G.A.S.... i have no need for a new bass but there is something about this that won't leave me alone!! I'll have a check of my bank balance tomorrow and if it's healthy enough i'll send you a PM....
  5. arrrrrrrrrrrrgh this is killing me. in the middle of buying recording gear so cannot cannot cannot (he says to himself) buy this.... but it's amazing value and I wants it!!!
  6. that is an insane price for a 55-02 deluxe. i have a 44-02 deluxe and it plays amazingly and sounds gorgeous. have a bump!
  7. oooooh maaaaaaaan.... i want this so bad to go with my 5 string USA one!! it's gorgeous!
  8. does this happen even when you have turned the volume on the pick ups down to zero?
  9. or there is this. http://www.two-notes.com/en/hardware/torpedo-vb-101/
  10. Just throwing in an extra idea along the Sansamp / Reddi route. It won't help with getting the sound from your Cab, but it's a really smart bit of kit that gives you total control of your own sound so you can spend ages tweaking your sound pre-gig and then plug into the DI and know the sound is going to be what you heard when you were setting it up. http://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/LEHLE_BAss_IQ.html
  11. I just fell out of bed!!! the Spector Euro is interesting..... but i did just fall out of bed and might have hit my head....
  12. Thanks!! I was struggling with the German manual. This is still interesting for me as I was looking at something that could be easily taken from home with me, but also really want a tube pre-amp, so i'm interested. I'll see how funds go after i've done all the money stuff over christmas

  14. out of interest, how loud would this make a 4 ohm 1X15 Cab? Having looking at the German manual on the Hughes and Kettner website it says 25 Watts, but it's hard to know what to expect from 25 Watts of tube power. I know it's a difficult to say how loud, but would it hold it's own with a fairly quiet band, or would it need a separate power amp for that?
  15. thanks. Ur experience is far greater than mine, I will trust ur opinion and send a pm later
  16. hi. can you confirm if that is the USA or finnish version. i zoomed in as much as i could and it looks like the USA version, but just wanted to confirm.
  17. Just bought a USA Spector from David. Received very quickly after I paid and was packaged really safely. Received in excellent condition as described. Would definitely recommend (the bass is AWESOME!!!)
