  1. Price drop again. I've got 4 basses up for grabs so something has to give.....
  2. Weighing in at 9 pounds. It's beautiful and amazing to play. I'm genuinely gutted to sell up as I'd only recently got my perfect line up basses; Geddy Lee USA jazz, MM Sterling, Jaguar and a P lyte and they've all got to go.
  3. The only rival was my Modulus VJ4 but even that was a little sterile compared to The Geddy.
  4. Although I'm retiring from playing I played this at home last night and it's too nice. So I'm keeping it! So you've missed this collectors item........ 1992 USA Musicman Sterling 4 string bass in natural satin lacquered finish with tortoiseshell pick guard (and replacement after market guard too) with Musicman hard shell case. This is an extremely rare issue as it has a highly figured maple neck, recessed neck plate, mute pad bridge (pads are off as the action is so low) and chrome battery cover - all of which were features of the first run of USA Musicman Sterling basses and only like this for a year or so. It's in great condition with extremely light play wear and hardly any fret wear. The bass has only just been set up with new strings, fret polish and fret board oiling with Ged Green in Manchester. It plays superbly. The hardware does show signs of being 25 years old with a bit of tarnishing and the body has a couple of surface marks which would probably rub / polish out. It features a 1.5" neck width at the nut, 3 band Eq and parallel / series / phantom coil 3 way toggle switch. The array of sounds is massive compared to the Stingray. It's lighter, has a narrower neck and is uber playable. It is a superb bass and if I wasn't retiring with immediate effect it would be staying with me but I cannot justify keeping an expensive bass if I'm not playing. In Cheshire but can post or meet up (withing a 60 mile or so radius of Chester).
  5. Ouch. That hurt like hell. I nearly cried but it's gone to a good home. Thanks Jay. This is going to hurt but I have had to abruptly stop playing and so up for grabs is my immaculate 2015 Geddy Lee USA Fender Jazz Bass with all the case candy and original USA deluxe case. In black with oiled maple neck with white pearloid block inlays, white pearloid scratch plate, Geddy Lee signature high mass bridge and 2 vintage voiced custom USA pick ups. It is by far the best jazz bass I've owned and probably the best bass I've owned. Far superior to the Mex and Jap versions it is simply joyous to play. It's so nice that I wouldn't gig it so it's barely been out of the house since I imported it. As such, there are no dings, scratches, no buckle rash, chips or any signs of it being anything other than new. Here's what they say; Fender's US Geddy Lee Jazz Bass takes three of Geddy's favorite instruments and fuses them into one hot-rodded model. Custom-voiced American Vintage '70s Geddy Lee pickups deliver fat low end and classic J Bass growl. The large profile maple neck has a hand-rubbed oil finish on the back, a 9.5" fretboard radius, and flashy white pearloid block inlays. A Geddy Lee High Mass bridge offers rock-solid tuning stability and intonation. The Fender US Geddy Lee Jazz Bass gives you best of Geddy's personal basses in a single bass that's ready rock. One of the most important changes on the US Geddy Lee Jazz Bass is the addition of Fender custom-voiced American Vintage '70s Geddy Lee pickups. These pickups have been designed to sound just like Geddy's original 1972 Jazz Bass. Fender wound these pickups to give you the punch, mid-range, bass and output you know and love. Perfect for all styles of music, these pickups give you a fat low end, tons of thump, and that iconic Jazz Bass growl. I can vouch for the growl and playability. Even if you're not a Geddy Lee fan and love jazz basses then this is an amazing bass. Custom shop quality IMHO. I'm in Cheshire but will post or meet up withing 60 miles of Chester. Shipping will be pricey as it will have to be insured
  6. Now £525. Up for sale due to retirement from playing is this immaculate 7 year old made in Japan black Fender Jaguar bass with amourdillo hard case. A great all round bass with jazz pick ups, active / passive control, bass / treble boost in active mode, serial / parallel switch, pickup 1 and 2 on / off switches, master volume / master tone. All you could need all in one bass it has that vintage vibe with pearloid block onlays on the jazz width rosewood neck (1.5" at the nut for extra comfort). Serial number T04967* dates it at between 2007 - 2010 but I think it's 2010. Reluctant sale but nothing I can do. Have had to hang up the boots due to illness. £525. Based in Cheshire. Can post deliver or meet within north west. Will post but it will be insured so about £35.]

  9. It's like losing a family member but it's gone gone gone....... Its with a heavy heart that I have to sell my favourite sounding amp of all time - the Eden Metro 2 x 10 combo. I only got it a short while back but due to illness am retiring from playing (so watch out for lost of other goodies for sale). The sound from this combo is absolutely superb. You will not fail to cut through any mix. It has 2 brand new 8 ohm 350w Eminence Delta drivers in meaning it runs at 4 0hms not 8 ohms giving you 400w in the stand alone set up rather than the original 280w. It can run down to 2 ohm with another cab but you wouldn't need one. It has 2 channels, one with simple bass, mid, treble and the other with semi parmetric Eq. It has tube preamp (with new tube), on board compressor, DI out, horn control and delivers clear punchy pure bass tone. It dates from 2001 but has just been serviced by Dave Lunt in Stockport so is checked over and gig ready. I've gigged it twice and rehearsed twice since getting it so it's not even seen much recent action recently. In fact probably not for a while as the previous owner had emigrated 4 years ago and left it at home with his mum...... I'm only selling as I've stopped playing and have sold all my gear. It comes with an ashdown cover and has new heavy duty wheels for ease of movement. It weighs in at 32kg I'd rather it was collected or I can meet up within a reasonable distance of Chester (circa 50 miles).[/size]
  10. Just a question on ethics here; Is it really so wrong to scour the pages of gumtree or shpock until you find something being under sold and then to maybe ebay it some time later? I say good on you to those with eagle eyes and willingness to travel to source a bargain..............
  11. Off topic slightly but how is the tech 21 ged 2112? And do you pair it with a power amp (which one) or use it as a DI? Thanks and sorry to wander off piste but I'm severely tempted by the ged 2112.
  12. After some advice if anyone has done this. Just re acquired a Japanese Jaguar bass but had forgotten that the pickups are either on or off in active and passive mode. There's no blend pot. Is there a way to add a blend option for both circuits using a stack pot for volume / blend and a further pot just for tone. As ever though it's better to take advice from anyone who might have done this........ Or no doubt there's someone out there with a shed load more knowledge than me. Thanks

  15. Just noticed this on ebay and wondered why there are no bids. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Geddy-Lee-Jazz-Bass/202057739946?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 The seller has good feedback and I can't see any reference to him as a scammer on here. £400 is reasonable for a genuine Geddy Lee Mex..........
  16. Thanks for those recommendations. I've been to roland lumby and brian wiliams before but for the life of me i could not remember brians name. Thanks
  17. Could you PM me with the offer? You're not allowed to offer on the chat forum, only via private messages. I have PM'd you if you look in your messages. Thanks
  18. Bump and now open to trades. Small combo, Jap Jaguar or Jazz or what have you got? Try me I might be tempted......
  19. I'm away for a week so can't check. Will have a look for specs and upload them if I can find them.
