  1. As long as Sheila and Adrian had a good time, thats all that matters!
  2. First time in the Racehorse taunton last night - in fact, probably the first time in taunton proper, which consider we are a band from Yeovil (25 miles from taunton) is quite odd in itself - we have done the villages around but not the town. Anyway, very narrow, long pub, tiny space, awkward load in, but in general was a great night, really enjoyed it and left with future bookings and wedding (gig, not proposal), so I am guessing it went down ok. There were a lot of people in the pub but you couldn't see many of them, they passed the door or went past from the room at the front or the room behind me or the outdoor area. Beyond that space in the picture was just people. It was pretty up close and personal. Second gig with a keyboard player, not sure I was convinced it was a great idea before, but although it doesn't work on everything, he really has brought a new dimension to some songs A bit of a pain breaking down, not much room, and a lot of people in the way of everything and walking through. Although it is further than we usually go (yes I know a lot of you travel miles, we dont!), it was a really quick journey back as the roads were empty, so back before 1. Noticed a private message on our facebook that we were amazing. Always nice to get a compliment although sometimes it would be nice if it was visible on the page!
  3. not sure why the two band isn't appropriate for fretless, I mean I tend to leave all my eqs flat and do whatever shaping I want to do with some graphic externally, you have a lot more control. i have a Garry Willis, I don't think the single pickup actually reduces the versatility that much although I am not much of a fretless player
  4. There is a bit of an improvement I suppose. I owned a 705, and an 805 that had the BH2s on it. and ibanezes with the MKs on them. I have owned quite a few Ibanez's, I still own 4, but none of them have licensed barts on them. 2 have Nords (big single and big split), 2 have USA barts on (both prestiges). I really liked the 805, but in the end, as they had just come out at the time it was an additional 3-400 to get some pickups for it, and it wasn't worth it on a bass of that cost. edit - recount.. I actually own 6 ibanezes (7 if you include guitars), but 2 are on the 'probably not staying long term' pile
  5. If the sound of the BH2s works for you then I say go for it, not something I would end up keeping (from experience) but it's for you
  6. Whilst not having tried either of those, I have a 1505ms and have gone through several other ibanezes. In my book, I would love the 1005f, but it would be an extra cost to replace the pickups with nordys or something, which the 905 already has, so I would go for the 905.
  7. Yeh, I thought that was good then remembered I had the waza air bass!
  8. Not really out of stock, just not in stock yet as they haven't got production up I suppose I would in certain gigs, going through an amp - its very cheap and noisy sounding, but in a gig situation I doubt you would notice.
  9. I have a mvave (not the one listed) and it is not something I would use live in any situation- this I probably would
  10. A non zero amount of people will buy it because of that, obviously the majority doesn't care, but when you are trying to hawk a different coloured fender jazz, you need some reason for people to buy it. Some companies do signature basses that are unlike any other one available (and not just the colour) and those can be interesting
  11. are there no UK distributers - like Bass Direct or someone?
  12. Its because they can't be competing with their suppliers, and if they have an RRP they have to use it. And setup? That would be like implying they weren't setup fantastically out of the box!
  13. Is the price not dependant on the company of the payment methods conversion rate when purchased?
  14. It is - although it does clarify more - I must admit I forgot when I ordered my FI, i forgot about the vat so it was a bit of a surprise. It is worth reminding people but obviously isn't pandas fault.
  15. My wifes shop was not making enough to be registered for vat, and pre-brexit had a lot of customers in the EU (about 25% of her business was that), but would have had to pay vat after that. Never did though as post brexit the workload involved to sell into the EU was to great for her to do as well as the rest of the shop so she lost that market to a larger EU shop that was her competitor.
  16. Oh yes, that was on our list to learn.
  17. Somehow don't think he is putting the effort in:
  18. Quite tempted to get one as a useful one off pedal. But that might because my multifx is away at the moment still
  19. They are one of those groups that seem quite pushed and I don't quite gel with but give credit that least they are doing something different, so I swing between liking them and hating them. I guess, I like their sound but none of their songs have really grabbed me. When that started I thought 'oh god it is another of those emotionless slowed down songs that there are a lot of', but although it seemed a bit slow her voice actually really did honour the original pretty well, so I was more impressed than I was expecting.
  20. Thomman have them at £190 - there are a few cheaper ones too.
  21. The Evox I got before for under £500, now there isn't anything south of £700. I saw about the 310s - sounds like quite a good deal and would probably be good as vocals, but would it be ok with me putting my bass through it and the rest of the band, or would I just end up with more things to carry around?
  22. That does seem like an interesting thing. Is there anything anywhere that says what the price is?
  23. Yep, and then I have a whole load more clutter to deal with in already compromised space and more time setting up when it is already too long. I have just downsized to a smaller pedalboard to reduce space, so there isn't actually that much room. It doesn't really matter as I have no need for one at the moment, but it was fun. If it was smaller and fitted it would have stayed there and I would have worked it into my set, but I didn't have that much real estate next to things I actually needed, so it went. If I really needed it obviously I would get it, but when it is a want rather than a need, anything can sway the decision.
  24. It wouldn't fit in the budget, but selling the TS212s and if I wasn't bothering with an amp it would be manageable. And these things seem to keep their value (in fact my other one is probably worth more than I paid for it now).
  25. it does, one that won't fit on my current pedalboard!
