Well, who is to say there were any - just what some bloke liked Well, the original 4030 had 4002 wings, as apparently they were around spare - but I see why the 4002 was canned - it isn't the prettiest thing, like a 4001 but with the pickups of a 4004 in a different place and a lot of pickguard.

On board active electrics...going full circle.

And maybe they would have sounded better! -
My mum is a terrible driver. She once hit someone unparking after I had said to her not to hit that person. She also hit her neighbours car unparking as 'he wasn't there when she turned up'. She went through a few years of having a ton of minor accidents. Strangely she seems to have no had any issues in a while now.

Not sure why you would need to compromise on power - there are high quality opamps that take nA current now, more down to price than anything. But I always liked the idea, just to stop the loading of one element with another, goes all the way back to hearing the distortion channel on the original Roland GR300 -

Eventually I will do the individual buffers for each string. -
Because it was a custom build made for a specific person (Jesse F. Keeler) who requested it that way and rick built it for him. He was happy for it and they made a few other ones for people. Then people requested a reissue, that is what this is. This is what some people wanted, and they will all sell just fine - it is the rickenbacker way!.

Rickenbacker bridge pickup height screws

Don't know how I missed that.. This is as close I can get it without making the holes bigger, and that is close enough so it doesn't show, so I am much happier with that. -
Rickenbacker bridge pickup height screws

It appears to be glued, at least I couldn't see any other way that it was attached. Its a shame but its not as bugging as it was. I still don't understand why the person that took the cover off removed the screws, unless they lost them, as clearly they need to be there to lift the pickup up -
Well I had a few minutes with it yesterday, off the pedalboard. Small box, usb lead between it and the ToneX and a guitar power plug on the box, you can connect by wired or bluetooth midi, but if you are near a computer or phone, you can just connect to its wifi (within 60 seconds of turning it on) and it gives you a set of webpages where you can change all the settings of the device itself. It lets you adjust the Gate / Compression / Speaker type / Modulation / Echo / EQ of the patch, or the amp values. Seems the amp models are those built into the presets already, and you can change between those presets, but not specifically between the models themselves, so I suspect the way you would use them is set up the models you want in the ToneX app, and then either use the midi interface to change between the presets or to switch on and off modulation, change drive levels etc. Certainly makes the ToneX One a lot more useful - I couldn't use it before as I use more than 2 sounds, but this expands that drastically.

I would put my own money on that never happening.

Not sure - when we were young we would go past the guildhall and see that some group that was vaguely rocky was playing so we would just nip in and get tickets and go along, just because that is what we did - they didn't have to be favourite bands and it wasn't less convenient than going on line now, because at the time, you could absoultely guarantee that you would be down town at some point in the weekend as you would need to buy something and that is where you bought something from.

Rickenbacker bridge pickup height screws
Woodinblack replied to Woodinblack's topic in Repairs and Technical
In the end the screws from the place on the net were £1.50, and £3.50 postage so I got a few sent and they came in a couple of days. I fitted the bezel last night. it is still at a bit of an angle as it is glued to the base plate at an angle, frankly the pickup looks agricultural but overall the bass looks a lot better and more importantly it is much closer to the strings (and louder). I am not sure if I didn't put it in backwards though, there is nothing on the pickup to show which way round something is, and taking it out I dind't notice. if I am switched to both pickups, it is a bit less bright unless I turn down one of the volumes or tones, maybe they are out of phase. Either way I guess it gives me a lot of tonal options, way more than the 4004 -
I don't go to either websites often, but I do find the bass direct one easier to find what I am looking for. I guess it is different if you are looking for just new stuff every day

No but the ToneX One midi interface turned up today, so I am going to have a play with that

If I could go to the albert hall for £60 and only pay £40 for two people to get a train, I would do it more often! Probably a difference to me - if it is a choice between making music and watching other people do it, I am playing every time

Was at the same gig, but we missed most of Janes Addiction beccause my wife was getting a tattoo and it took longer than we had planned for - had to get a taxi from hornchurch to the O2, but luckily it was so late it was easy to get in and there werent any crowds, it all worked well, and enjoyed the gig. But yes, 3 and a bit hours there and back, but we stayed overnight so another £100 or so for a hotel, and the cost of the tattoo, and the shopping the following day, all in all the cost of the ticket was practically nothing! But in general going to london is very expensive, so we haven't been in a long time now. We went up for Too in 22l, but that had been the first for a while and probably the last for a long time (apart from gatwick on the way to new york, but that doesn't really count). There are no groups that I would pay over £100 to see and that seems almost normal for there now.

Wisdom is knowing that it won't make a triffle nice either way Yes, school is not a nice place if you are in any way different, and having to play dumb so you don't get your head kicked in.
