25w all valve currently 1x15. Slightly too loud for the house really when pushed to overdrive (no separate gain). Otherwise perfect for the house. I see no reason not to use any amp you want, although a separate gain control is handy, bigger amps will be harder to control but not impossible. A small practice amp certainly is handy to have but not essential at the min I would say you want 15w any lower is pointless for bass.

Got this little traynor yba 2a combo. For just home use and some recording and I must say it's actually pretty decent. I know there used a lot with guitars but for bass use in the home it's much nicer than I thought it would be. My first all valve amp too. My opinion is that these days there is so many things to do that Every genre in music is not as big as it could be. People have so many forms of entertainment etc that just learning to play an instrument gets in the way. And if someone does Lear an instrument there going to be mainly influenced by the music of there time. And I see a need for big and old rock and roll bands to retire, it makes it look like music for old duffers. What's left of say the who play Glastonbury was cool to a degree but to a degree its also a load of old geezers on stage.

STAGG HDB-200 Good condition, everything works as it should. No real issues except the nut broke at the g string, however it does still tune and play. Lovely sounding bit of kit. I was going to replace this myself however I've decided upright bass is not for me. Comes with the proper gig bag and the detachable arms to simulate a double body ribs. £225 Pictures follow in the next posts as having trouble linking in one post.

Do you and your partner have similar musical tastes?
Twincam replied to Roland Rock's topic in General Discussion
I have such a broad musical taste I normally always have found common musical ground with whomever I was seeing. Apart from 2 girlfriends 1 was into john barrow and other rubbish and the other liked crap coming from pop idol. Me and my current gf have similar musical taste, which is good as currently teaching her bass so she enjoys learning what I enjoy playing. -
Tried to watch it lasted 5 mins turned it off. Crap!

The sad and tragic failures of the 'new' rockbass streamer fretless...
Twincam replied to goonieman's topic in Bass Guitars
FYI - no strings, truss rod neutral (middle position - no tension). That just ain't right for a new bass. Should be much closer to dead straight. Are we agreed?
Yeah that's a lot of relief already. But I think since the truss rod is working it is probably fixable. Does it backbow with the rod maxed and no strings on?. You should probably get a refund but it is a lovely looking bass, so me I would try get a discount and I would fix it. -
Yeah the dodgy nut doctoring and the interesting string arrangement to the machine head suggest nut problems possibly the slots cut too wide the extra tension on the string and the other bandage would stop rattling.

Ok I have a gentleman offering me a stag eub at a very reasonable price. I'm thinking about buying it as I fancy a go at playing one and if I'm not keen seems like I would be able to move it on. I have only a little knowledge on uprights and zero on eub basses. How should I test it out what should I be looking for?.

Does nobody on ebay post anything anymore?
Twincam replied to Grangur's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
If I sell something on eBay I generally have the item already packed up by the end of auction. And will post within 2-3 days. I expect the same really and any longer really annoys me. I can understand a week at most for a large item any longer is unacceptable. -
Been watching it and enjoying it but I think the format could be better. Was thinking a bass star would have loads of mark king wannabes slapping the hell out of there bass lol.

One side the neighbours often play loud music with windows open, we dont complain so bugger them. And the other side, the one I think the sound will effect alot more make odd noises all through the day and night. But still I'm trying to keep it sensible. We don't play on the amps after 8. Although once or twice we have played till 9 but much lower volume. We also don't normally play for anymore than an hour or so. My lass thinks we are ok and she is the sensible one.
It could have been worse for your old neighbours... they could have had a massive Mark King fan living next door
Haha:)

Ok so had a phone call from my sister who is friends with my old neighbours on Facebook, she just discovered (long story) that They said on Facebook. Just before I moved. " the inconsiderate prick next door playing his bass guitar, I wouldn't care but he can't play it , and it goes on for hours". there was also some mention of snapping my bass and shoving it somewhere... Although no one actually said anything to me. I'm both highly amused and horrified. Now me and my gf live together and we both play bass often together. Just the other day I thought we were playing at reasonable volume but when I went upstairs i could hear her playing and it did travel more than I thought. I'm wondering what's the best way to minimise pissing the new neighbours off. I hate playing with headphones so that's out especially when we play together. I'm bit sore about the can't play comment haha.

I think you should try negotiate a partial refund. Especially if the twist isn't effecting it yet, hopefully it won't get worse.
