1. Thought I should get myself a feedback thread, for items ive sold or indeed bought. So here it is lol.....
2.
It's Phil Anselmo!
I've just shaved a little chin beard off too!
3.
A lot depends on what make the 4003 copy is. On saying that whatever 4003 copy it is it's going to be worth £200-£250+ to someone so with that and the £200 you have to spend you'll have £400-£450+ to spend on a bass and you can get a lot of bass for that.
Fully agree if you can put 400+ together by selling the copy and some guitar stuff, you can get something your really happy with. But if you want to keep the copy, i like the look of those vm jags and wouldn't mind the short scale version.
4. The Mean and moody look lol And playing

6.
Sparko Grabber? Tina Weymouth Mustang? Roger Glover R**k? BigRedX Gus? The list stretches into single figures...
A Tina Weymouth Sig would be cool.

10. Yes me too recently, at first I thought these are horrible and they don't suit all the music I play. But I do like them now, they seem to get better after a few days playing I thought too. And I was going through a lot of rounds, flats should last a long time!.
11. I shall answer I own a eb0 there nice and I think neck dive is a overrated problem, but both the eb0 and indeed the eb3 have it. A wide strap sorts the problem I find. Ok the eb0 is nice well built and sounds good it also easy to play. However the tonal options are limited to say the least more so maybe because I'm using flatwound strings but even before with rounds it wasn't the most versatile. The eb3 with its extra bridge pickup has a little more variation. The viola I've never played but I imagine it's light, easy to play and from the few things I've read about it a decent instrument. And probably best if playing Beatles stuff. Harley Benton (thomann) do a cheap Beatles bass that's not bad by all accounts. But personally if I wanted a shortscale bass and had a 300 pound budget I would buy a squier vm mustang ss or a gretsch junior jet but if weights a problem then deffo the viola or the Harley Benton is the way to go. Oh and the danelectro basses look up those too.
12. This thread is most disheartening to a owner of a Carlsbro cobra 90 I just bought a few days back lol. However the cobra is a serious upgrade on the hartke a25. Which I could never get a decent tone I liked out of it and I tried it with several basses. I also convinced myself now that it sounded bad because of its horrible 8 inch aluminium speaker.
13. Ok I've only ever played small sub 30w practice amps. So I went and bought a cheap 1987 carsbro 90bg combo. The infamous cobra model I think. Which is a huge upgrade to me in power and tone. I know a few people have said there rubbish etc but I'm enjoying it. So I have a few questions. Firstly it's working fine but would it be worth me replacing its old 15 inch speaker with a modern one, I'm worried that every time I turn it up it gonna blow lol. Which leads me to the second question is there a way old equipment like this should be treated (no jokes lol). What about having it serviced is it a worthwhile thing while it's working fine?.

15.
It's funny how we all differ but i thought this one of the most pointless threads on BC. It just seems like moaning for sake of it to me.
I think it's educational lol and from a human aspect it's great to hear others stories mainly from the past and what basses were played. Anyhow I'm sick of hearing about how great a certain bass guitar is lol
16. Awesome thread thought would give it a bump for more stories. Surprised at the epiphone eb0 hate lol. I have a new one it's not bad at all especially for the price 130 free delivery from guitarguitar nice solid mahogany body and neck etc Yes serious neck dive and yes they really only have that one tone but what a tone! Lol. Never had a crap bass as such in my very short life as a bass player but the Yamaha rbx 170 I owned had no bass whatsoever about it.
17. Cool thanks for the replays and I did wonder how on earth it was still working.
18. Ok think i found answer to why my bass was buzzing when i touched the strings etc. The jack only has one wire connected to it, i assume the other wire next to it in the sheath is the earth that needs to be connected to the other side. looks like it was soldered on and came off. Pic included. Am i right in my thinking?.
19. Ok strings are rotosound rs 77 shortscale. Got them from stringdirect. Ok I had a go at slakening it off indeed it did turn but still the same unfortunately. There fitted to an eb0 so I was expecting a very different tone but not an out of tune thud lol. I shall send strings direct an email see what they say
20. Just put my very first flatwounds on and love the feel, also been able to get a better action dialled in. Can also play faster. But something must be wrong with the E string it sounds just like a untuneful thud. And out of tune. Other strings sound right and have a nice sound to them. Any thoughts?.
21. When I touch the strings or indeed any metal part of the bass it induces a hum. Could someone explain the cause of this and how would I go about fixing it?. I'm not afraid to get stuck in there with a soldering iron etc even with only my basic knowledge if someone can give me clear instructions. I've had a look inside and all wires seem well conected.

23. Cool i shall order from them. Thank you all for the replies.
24. I don't have any experience ordering a bass from overseas so thought would ask. Anyone have any recent experience from ordering from Thomann?. I fancy a Hofner galaxy short scale i see in the UK there £250+ if i order from Thomann there £123 (not including postage).
