  1. What you’re describing might be the wiring in parallel characteristic, a series/parallel switch could alter that.
  2. Nordstrand customer service on email is very good - like Chris said earlier, worth dropping them a line perhaps.
  3. My Lull PJ4 has a Nordstrand P and Dual Coil, the Dual Coil cleans up the P but adds a tighter mid punch as opposed to thinning it. It’s so good that it’s often hard to go back to a straight P tone. I’m talking about blended though, I’m not as keen on the ‘both on’ tone https://nordstrandaudio.com/collections/4-string-soapbar-bass-pickups/products/dual-coil-4
  4. LaBella do a DBE flatwound set, had some on my old Spirit, very nice 👍
  5. Chuck in your Wal or Modulus and you got a deal 👍👍👍
  6. Nah, I’m more of a Nike dude
  7. Yup - letting go of a perfectly fine Jazz Bass…! 😬 Yeah, the passive one - quite fancy stripping one to natural
  8. Based on a ‘62, slab fingerboard, ash body, blonde finish, Radioshop hand wound pups that are clear and crisp and really respond beautifully when you dig in. Nice weight at 9lbs and super comfortable all round. I think the colour is best represented by the photos on the chair.
  9. £1300 rings a bell, might of been a touch more. Compared to others at that time it seemed like they were letting it go at cost after a few years in stock. Ive seen this one for sale a few times - not sure if it’s the same guy though.
  10. One of the big dealers (Coda or GAK?) had one for years and couldn’t sell it, it ended up going dirt cheap. I was tempted at one point, but thought if it’s been there that long it may be a dog.
  11. I like the Granite, but shame it’s a satin finish as they seem to wear more easily, not great on a 1 of 100 bass for me. Black would match my Special nicely though, so I’ll keep an eye on the classifieds next year, that bass looks like pure fun.
  12. I made the ‘mistake’ of going there when I was doing a distance post grad degree at UoB and went to a study weekend - came home with a lovely 40th Anniversary Old Smoothie to celebrate my 40th birthday and results of my first assignment 😁
  13. Given the background, looks like a joke by the dude at the factory - I mean, why wouldn’t you?! But a ‘58 would have a 3 tone burst, so in the world of geekdom the joke is on him 😝 Cool bass 👍
  14. Ooof - and have to fork out more 💰for a lighter coloured logo...?
  15. I wouldn’t mind it, keeps to the theme of using natural materials. Cool colour, 👍
  16. “This is not the Wal I’ve been looking for”
  17. Price includes post. Original USA made StingRay pickup, given to my by the UK distributor in around 2005. Used as an added neck pickup in my Ray at the time. I used it with coil tap switch, so the there is an extra red wire - this is very easily reversed (I can do that if you want it sold as standard) but is a handy little mod if you want it, so I’ve left it as is for now.
  18. Price includes post. Awesome little Bluetooth headphone amp, which I no longer have any use for. Comes with an extra USB to charger cable. link to my feedback -
  19. Now £160 - includes insured post. Great headphones, open backed, well respected. Has some signs of use, in full working order. 3.5mm jack, with the original 1/4 inch adapter. Will be sent in the original box, which is a bit tatty - the foam insert is missing but they will be in bubble wrap. I’ll also include a shorter lead which I bought in addition. Link to my feedback -
  20. Pleasure to sell Brian some strings, good vibes and comms the whole way. Cheers Brian 🙏
  21. Not an easy pickup to find, and at £40 I’m quite surprised this is still here... 🤷🏻‍♂️
  22. Many prices are nuts these days. My Mike Lull PJ4 cost me £1999 in 2015, now they are £2999. I love that bass, and as its a quality custom build £3k is not outrageous, but I wouldn’t pay that for one now. My MM Stingray Special HH was £2200 in 2018, which was high then IMO, now they are nearer to £3k, which is crazy too. All that said, the value, desirability and reasons to pay out is subjective to the buyer, and I can see why people would pay these prices, for a CS too, and that’s cool with me.
  23. I’d say they are a low medium. Not as low tension as Group IV, which again are not as low tension as Thomastik. The 100 and 80 definitely keeps the tension sensible in my opinion on the Group III.
