1. Cracking bass at a good price George, wish I had the funds mate. Good luck with the sale.
2. Pity it's not for trade I might have something of interest ;-)
3. Go through this all the time S. In fact just after I bought my last bass the band I'd been working hard with folded and I thought why not sell a couple including the one I'd just got. You've got 2 nice Ricks mate, enjoy, the passion always returns after a while....and 39 is young!
4. I've had a few fretless basses, cheap and expensive but I've always come back to the Ray.....sounds superb as a fretless, hard to beat. Great price bump.
5. I know Martin, he'll send it over no doubt when he realises it's 'un-sellable'.....
6.
I never liked his sound either. Way too trebly, not enough bottom end grunt. I guess that's down to EQ ... maybe I'm saying I've never heard a Ric EQd properly. But however you EQ it a Ric is still as ugly as sin!
So now I finally understand the definition of 'Trolling' ;-) You either love em or you don't....each to his own. Fortunately in this age of consumption some of us have sufficient funds to allow the ownership of more than one bass so you can have that 'horrible' plucky-clank for your prog-rock band AND that weasley 'Honk' for your 70's funk band..... Anyhoo.....everyone knows the ugliest bass in the world is the Status Streamline, so if you have one send it to me and I'll happily detroy it for you.
7. Why would someone do that to a particularly nice Rick? Would have thought it would take a couple of hundred or so to sort the back out so if there's no other issues then £900/950 would be a nice deal. I be sure to collect though so you could try it out to make sure the rods are ok and theres no other signs of miss use.
8. That is a thing of beauty!!
9. Glad you're loving it George, I was going to gig mine tonight but decided I'd wait till it had been set up a bit more to my liking. I'm going to have to get to grips with the double truss rod......wish it had a MM wheel lol! After a bit more playing I've really got to agree with you that this is very fat in the bass.....even the bridge pup which adds some Rick clank has loads of bottom end. Have you decided if you're going for the VVT mod yet?
10. I think I have an unhealthy obsession with black basses...
11. That would look very nice next to my Streamline 4. Pity I've just blown my wad on a Rick, I would love this!
12. Just picked up a new one of these in Jet Glo K, it's sat in the packing waiting to get to room temp before I can open it up and have a look. These are the unsung heroes of the Rickenbacker bass world. Good luck with the sale.
13. Firstly, I also think that £20 is reasonable. I've used the market place equally for both buying and selling, and while the jury's out on whether it's saved or cost me money (I kept basses a lot longer before finding this site!) it's definitely been a pleasant process overall. However, a lot of people initially come to this site to sell and a proportion stay on to take part in the forum. I can understand that BC must have running costs but the forum has for years (I've been around through Basworld and Basstalk) been run for the benefit and development of all things bass and I'm concerned that charging for sales is pushing this down a business route and may put put off some individuals from becoming part of this great forum. Sorry to be negative - its my opinion only but hopefully as a long standing member it will be respected for what it is.
14. I would say this but.....Status Streamline. 7lbs, comfy neck, low action, zero neck dive. Oh and it sounds good too, in my pack other basses have come and gone......
15. Almost makes me wish I was a guitard........almost.
16.
Funnily I would like a modulus but status do nothing for me at all.
Heathen ;-)
17. Looks like she's outa here......
18. PMs have been replied to. Have had some tempting trade offers on this but nothing that's made me bite as yet. Cash is obviously tight out there so if you're interested make me an offer....you never know!!!
19. And time for a pre-weekend burmp.
20. You'd get a used US standard for less than a grand, money's tight at the mo and that obviously has an effect. Most recent (yr2000+) US made jazzes I've played have come in at he 8.5 to 9lb level which I'd personally class as medium/comfortable weight. There's a couple of MIM roadworn Jazzes currently on sale here for £700, also well worth a look.
21. Will give this a little longer before I string it with some flats and put it to work. Looks like the market is full of Fender sellers rather than buyers at the minute so may have to suppress my GAS for a Rick until the next significant birthday.
22. I'm Rotherham side which I guess is the wrong side for you Andy. There's 2 Thursday night ones that I occasionally frequent, the Hay Nook in Kimberworth and the Yellow Lion at Greasborough.
23.
Hello Chris, I was I did put it back up as I was having a hiatus and sold it within about an hour to a basschatter, so it has gone, sorry, there's a four on the forum with a bend well somewhere. OM
Think that was Fretmeisters OM, and I think it sold either on here or on Statii.com. Wish my Jazz would sell as easily as these seem to, however I think mine would have to be prised from my cold, dead mitts!
24. A straight 9lbs as can best be determined on my digital scales.......not a heavy weight. Overseas shipping ok as long as you arrange the courier.
25. There's some amazing Fenders for sale on the forum at the moment and this is one of em ;-)
