1. White over CAR - really cool! But a matchiung headstock on a '63? That's just wrong... Did you order it like that?
 2. Most of them used to be mine but are no longer with me. I ordered the Limelight because I desperately wanted a Shoreline Gold 60's P. The Limelight is a really good bass - very well made and great sounding. But it had to go when a pre-CBS Lake Placid Blue Precision crossed my path: the one shown above. My vintage Fender rotation started about five years ago with a Black/Maple 1975 Precision (I put a black PG on it, Roger Waters style): Later I traded it in for a really cool 1968 Telecaster Bass (black refin): Parallel to the '75 P I had a '74 Jazz: Both the Tele and the Jazz had to go in favour of a 1965 Precision: That one feels and sounds fantastic - I probably should have kept it. But then the 1964 LPB came along, which I could not let pass, since a pre-CBS custom colour Precision has always been my dream bass. So I traded the Limelight and the 1965 P. 2015 was a very good year (job-wise), so I was able to invest in a beat-up 1964 Jazz that sounded huge: 2017 was another good year, so when I saw the 1956 Precision (another dream bass) at Andy Baxter's, I sold the '64 Jazz to finance it: I think with the Lake Placid Precision and the 1956 Single Coil I sort of reached the top of the ladder and the rotation might come to an end. At least on the Precision side. Now that I think about it, I don't have a decent Jazz Bass at the moment. And I also find the Competition series Mustangs really cool ...

 4.
Quoted for new page. That is absolutely gorgeous. Amazing. I once played a '55 so I can imagine how it sounds. Fantastic.
Thanks! It really is an amazing bass. Surely not a bargain, but worth the price IME. It sounds and feels great. It's got growl and punch and very vivid midrange tones and rich harmonic overtones. I don't mind that flagpole of a neck at all, it actually fits quite nicely in the hand. The neck is absolutely straight. I can set the action to 2mm (measured at last fret) and could even go lower without any buzz above the 12th fret. The neck has been perfect the last 60 years so I'm quite confident it's not going to warp, twist or hump for the next 60 years. The fact that the finish is in very good condition and the bass is 100% original including the case makes it even more lovable (and valuable, too). And that one piece ash body is just beautiful.
 5.
So I was looking at this yesterday on AB's site while you were busy buying it?? Is it the 56?
The very same, yes.
Kind of relieved actually, it takes the pressure off me to find the vast sums I would have had to get deep in debt for.
Glad I could help.
 6. This one moved from Hoxton Street to my place just yesterday
 7.
How well did the HB Jneck fit the pocket? Decently, I'm guessing.
Fits nicely into the pocket. Only the screw holes in the neck heel were slightly misaligned so had to fill them and drill new ones.
 8. That's a fantastic paint job! It fits the Dingwall style. Anyway, I don't think I'd have the balls to bring something that colourful to a gig. I'm a rather understatement type of bass player. That's why my AB II 3X has the "Ducati White Pearl" finish, which is bright enough for me... Sheldon himself seems to like "bold" finished, too, think about the Swirl on the newer NG2's.
 9. Sounds good! (Looks good, too.) Here's my HB-50 mod: I stripped the body and sprayed it gold and installed a Harley Benton lefty Jazz Bass neck to get closer to a Dusty Hill kind of vibe. I like the Wilkinson pickup. It sounds pretty good actually.

 11.
It's been sunny today and I misread the title of this thread as "Show us your sunburn"...
So? Do you have a sunburn that's worth showing?

 13. 11 years - the Status Energy was my only bass from 1994 to 2005. That's when I started browsing bass guitar forums...
 14. The cab is not "sad", it's made by Marc Sieben of Sieben Audio Design...
 15. Gorgeous bass, although there's close to nothing about it that says "62"...
 16.
Obviously as a guitar amp this will be designed to break up into full distortion when driven but would 150W give enough headroom to keep things at least fairly clean sounding at gig volume if needed or would we be talking full on Lemmy levels of distortion at bedroom levels?
Given that it has no Master Volume it's supposed to stay clean up to really high volumes, since the volume knobs control the gain stage, while the power section permanently runs full throttle. Edti: Wait, it does have Master Volume. But that can be switched off, which is good!
 17. Sub'd! I too have been hovering over that one for quite a while now. But actually I don't need another amp...
 18.
Latest addition, very scarce 3-knob 1961 Fender Jazz. Probably the nicest bass I've ever played, I've only seen one other, and after playing this one, just fell in love.
What a stunner. Congrats!
 19. Right before Christmas my AB-II arrived from BassDirect. Ducati Matte Pearl White, Wenge/Wenge neck, passive 3x w/ toggles. 20. Dingwall. Especially the 'Afterburner' series. I love the look, ergonomics, playablity and clarity of tone.
 21. I like No 3 best, it's got that thumpy Jamerson tone.
 22.
Löewenherz. Where 'taste' and 'restraint' have no meaning.
True. OK, back to three pickups. The Fender Rascal comes to mind: ... and the Duesenberg Motown ... and Dingwall - this one is mine :
