1. You will be sorry if he fiddled while Rome burned
2. Personally , I would change the set which requires no fiddle if you can`t replace him. If you go to Italy , and he messes that up, that could be your one big chance gone. Would rather have a mediocre player who performs adequetly than a liability
3. You would probably be better looking for videos of people that have uploaded clips and playing the way an instrument should be played, rather than the luthiers clips that usually bear no resemblance to real use, and that includes the Rob Allen video
4. You are already better than Sid Vicious
5. I don`t know why, but I was so sure that someone would have mention Ronnie James Dio by now. Ok, my surprise is over. He was mentioned in post 8
6.
And yeah that bassline. That's the sound of a talented bassist who's thought about the best line for the job...don't hear much of that nowadays.
Pity he tarnished his reputation
7. I like some KC and the Sunshine. My personal favourite is Get Down Tonight. Earth Wind and Fire have done some awesome tunes. Assuming it is disco, I am really liking Soul City Walking by Archie Bell at the moment. Also a song that I have always liked since I heard it is Average White Band- Let`s go Round Again. Odessey- Back To My Roots is good. Loads of stuff is really good with pumping bass lines. The D.I.S.C.O in the title by Ottowan is one naff song though
8. Sounds to me like it was assault. If you are a willing mosher, and you fall over from being bounced around, then that is life. Being pulled over like that is just thuggery
9.
Drivers seat, Sniff and the Tears
Good song, but was it really a hit? It peaked at 42 in UK charts
10. I agree with LW. Just legalised fences. They bought a load of fishing gear stolen from my garden from a bloke that is known to them. Even though the police knew him, cash covertors were free to sell it as we couldnt prove it was ours
11. I will listen to it tomorrow. The cd I got of yours is ace
12.
You missed it. Mono were part of a distributors stand, I think they may have been with MXR and someone else?
Ahh, ok. I was expecting to see a little stand of their own. I'm disappointed now
13. There definatly seemed to be a big gap in the middle of the main hall, and the entrance hall didn`t seem to have as many. It seemed like a lot from last year was missing. I imagine it would be expensive to get a stand and stay in London for a few days.
14. One thing i was disappointed about. I may have missed it, but Mono were advertised as being there, but I never saw them. I wanted to have a good look at them.
15. I think he is the sort of person you need at LBGS
16.
You should have had a go. You'd only have been on headphones anyway. And nobody would judge. Sorry for the lack of lefty stock. They only account for about 5 to 10% of our sales, so until we grow a bit more, it doesn't really make it practical to hold stock. We're working on it though.
I understand the left handed stock, and feel lucky that you do have them in left hand, as most manufacturers don`t. Also, as I posted earlier, Manne wants £500 extra to make left handed, so the extra tenner? you quoted ain`t bad. I only bought the PJB Bighead because it looked neat, but I would never have bought it if I was at home.Funny how shows make you spend money that you wouldn`t normally, and now sat at home wondering why I did buy it. , I am also sat here wondering why I don`t have the confidence to have a go on anything.
17.
If he's willing for that video to be seen in public he's probably incapable of being offended.
It is a fair point. I was merely musing, not really having a go at anyone for commenting on it. Personally, I think it is well over the top, and would think he is well able to take it if you make a spectacle like that.
18. I am reading these comments and hoping he won`t be too offended if he is a basschatter
19. I am very much an impulse buyer. I would have bought a Chowny bass if I could have taken one away on the day, but I have to wait 6 weeks for a left handed. I should have had a try on one, but I am always too nervous to try anything. The only person who has seen me play is my bass teacher.
20. Live It Up - Mental as Anything . Not a bad song. I think Inside by Stiltskin is my favourite one hit wonder
21. I only ended up buying a PJB Bighead. Havent tried it out yet. I really liked the Manne basses, but an extra £500 for a left handed bass has slightly put me off
