1. It would be better if you had started a totally new topic away from someone who wanted to make an obituary about someones death. You dont know him, but that doesn't mean to say that no one on here does. I take your opinion as a valid point, but I would just have preferred it as a seperate topic. That is all I am saying
2. I have an Ashdown valve amp. There is a buzz on every G sharp on each string. I also have an Eden solid state amp. It sounds perfect on that. The amp is an Ashdown CTM-15. Anyone got an idea as too why please? Every other note sounds good.I am also getting a bit of buzzing that seems a little more than i used to when no notes are played.
3.
Or one could also be entitled to express an opinion..... Peter
Opinions are good, but on an obituary page, it just seems disrespectful. Just my opinion obviously.
4. I guess you can skip the topic if you don't like to read about it
5. I agree with him about jazz. I hate it. I hate rap and hip hop too.
6.
This is a brilliant read: in Bryan's own words, how he tracked down and caught the criminals. Some of the gear has been reclaimed as well. http://www.bryanbeller.com/cms/index.php?page=lob45storagewars "we can get you a badge but you'll have to cut your hair"
It was an interesting read. Especially the bit where the police didnt seem that interested until they realised who the criminals were.
7. I would have thought practising is the number 1. You can listen , but if you don`t put in the work, then you are just chilling out to music.
8. For any Bowie fans interested http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b088ktm6
9. It must be hard to get rid of the SWR head with such a low and easily remembered serial number. Just hope they are all recovered, but I doubt it.
10. I hjave no idea why, but I have a hankering for a D`Angelico EX. No idea why, but |I really want one
11. The only song I really liked was Pictures of Matchstick Men. Never really a big fan, but you have to marvel at their longevity as a band, and a great legacy and inspiration to many people. It is always a shame to lose someone, but this close to Christmas must be particularly painful for the family, and his legion of fans
12.
I've never been to an event like this, so excuse me if it's a silly question, but, would basses be likely to come at a discount at something like this, or do people try stuff out and then just order it online cheaper when they get home?
A bit of both. Some stuff is a little discounted. I think most of it about the same price, but there is plenty to try
13. Creeque Alley by Mama's and Papa's feature a few bands and names
14. They boast about throwing rocks into Denmark Street shops and nicking guitars. At least Steve Jones does. Whether it is true I have no idea
15.
bollocks I should I thought of that one, we do it every gig!
I think a lot of people think the song is called Gordon is a Moron
16. Does AC/DC count? You could argue that the Youngs were Brits and Axel Rose is definately American. A bit tenuous I suppose
17. His story on the Graeme Norton show was very funny. http://youtu.be/jXLQIO3gRM0
18. I am not a fan of his particularly. I watched him on tv performing live, and he was playing Let Me Entertain You. He was a really good showman and really got the crowd going. I started having a bit of respect for his craft. As too whether he is an Icon, I am not too sure. In the last 20 years, I guess it is between him and Will.I.Am. I would go with Robbie out of the 2.
19. Thanks for that explanation
20.
Welcome to my world..!
I am a bit dense here, but can you explain why, as a drummer, you must be smiling? Do you need to know a bit of theory to be a drummer or am I missing something?
21. I bought a course from Kai Eckhardt about intervals. I have a small understanding of intervals, but i am working through it, and it has bought a real understanding of the use and how they sound. It is a video course, and really easy to follow. https://truefire.com/bass-guitar-lessons/atomic-bass/c30 I also bought Ariane Cap`s Pentatonic Playground.
22.
Well I've never met anyone that said "I've been spending a few hours a week looking at theory and its made me a worse player! ", go for it.
I think the only people who say that theory will make them a worse player, is people who have never studied any, and claim it will stifle their creativity.
23. As it seems no one has, I will have to give it a go to see if it is any easier than simply counting
