1. Not a chance. Also EMG's are normally epoxed into the casings, so you won't be able to seperate them to replace them.

Ebay links forum
Also, can anyone explain what is so horrible with posting links in the Ebay forum for their own auction? It lets members know that there might be a bargain to be had and doesn't force anyone to buy anything. It is not really different from posting in the For Sale section.
That's not the issue as such. The issue is people coming on and soley posting one or two links in there, never to be seen again (as CK put it), rather than members posting links to their auctions or informing everyone else of interesting stuff they've come across. Why should people be able to drum up interest in their auctions, therefore making them slightly more money, without actually participating in the forum? A: They shouldn't. I'm all for these new restrictions. It's a shame, but BC is no longer small like it was, so rules are needed.
3.
It might remove some of the crud from the voids in the wraps, but that's all it does. *snip*
Well, yes, that's the general point. You're right in that they've already been damaged, but don't forget how strings actually work. Clearing out the crud in the voids will help them vibrate a bit more freely, if only for a limited time. It's also why some people say use meths, it should be a less harsh method of cleaning them compared to boiling.
4. Well despite it being a special edition colour...quite frankly, I wouldn't buy a IV in this or its other colours now over the refinements offered in the new Pro. Still gotta get over to Brum to try one out. A Pro in arctic white with the passive pups and controls on the other hand would be bloody awesome.
5. Er, Mark, knock a grand and a half off for a fellow Warwickshirian and I'll be there first thing in the morning That thing looks lovely.
6. There's more risk when shipping outside of your own country. I can't afford to take that risk so I never ship outside of the UK, not even mainland Europe. IF I could afford to take the risk then I'd be quite happy to ship internationally. I expect quite a few people are in similar situations.
7. Mark (poptart) will probably be along shortly to answer questions.
8. Cataloy to fill up a pup pocket?! Did you remove it and replace it with actual wood?
9.
I can't imagine why people turned such a great musician away from this forum. Please enlighten me.
I think the posts might still be available if you search, but it essentially boiled down to a number of people questioning a technical exercise he was espousing and Janek's seemingly aggressive attitude towards those who were criticising it as being essentially pointless due to it not having any real link with making music (iirc it was something OTT like playing fifteen billion notes a second with your fingers). It ended in tears and a "I'm never going to post here again" post. He's posted here since though I think.
10.
have to say he's one of the nicest blokes I've ever met, and a truly awesome musician.
Really now? That wasn't the impression he gave last time he was on here.
11. Obvious solution first, tried lowering the pickup on the E string side? Edit: Damn you Sibob!
12. If you do a search on the forum for "meths" or "isopropyl alcohol" you'll find it's already a reccommended method. There's even some instructions for making some specialist string cleaning tubes with PVC piping, in fact, I think it may be a copy-paste of the webpage you've found It's also much better for your strings than boiling.
13. There should be plenty of schematics of both Jazz and Precisions basses knocking around the net that'll supply you with the measurements you need so you can plonk it on properly.
14. You want to know how Thunderbirds sound!? Put it this way, the sound of Thor's Hammer smashing a mountain pales in comparision to the thunderous rapport of a Thunderbird!
15.
Horace makes anything look cool...
What the hell do you mean? Thunderbirds are inherently cool! Always have been always will.
16. Good song that is. Although, I think money isn't his only problem when it comes to keeping the woman he wants, it's still certainly measured in pounds though.
17. Instead of spending all your money on upgrades to a Squier Affinity series have you considered saving a little and buying a used Jap? Seems a bit silly to chuck good parts onto cheap wood.
18.
ive never heard Peter Hook play...is he any good??
I bet you have heard Hooky play because unless you've been a hermit for the past 30 years, you'll have heard some Joy Division or New Order.
19. BigRedX, I have but one question: Do you occasionally get hit by said mic stand when the singer is "putting on a show"? If yes, I'd be worried for my safety if you supply him with a bigger, beefer bit of steel to throw around.
20. Is that John Frusciante with the Telecaster?
21. Personally I've never had a problem with Royal Mail Standard Parcels. Obviously you take bigger risk of it being lost as it's not a courier service but ah well.
22. You know, I'm surpised no-one cuts the acrylic bodies in half to put chambers in them to reduce the weight. Do a good enough job and it would probably look pretty goddamn sweet. Also Jon, you appear to have a dire case of the sparkles
23. The Aerodyne Jazz bass is obviously a jazz neck but comes with a P-pup, which is close enough (Mine's about to appear in the For Sale section if you're interested). Dunno if the Aerodyne P-bass has a precision or jazz neck though.
