1. Hi Jake, Welcome and may your stay be a long one.
2.
Hi GW, have you ever fitted a blank nut before?
Yes I fitted one on my Strat took a bit of time to get it right, that's why I went for a pre slotted nut for my bass to cut down the fiddling.
3. Cheers! and thanks for the info
4. Hi, Can anyone out there recommend a really good quality Jazz Bass nut.I have just gone and bought a Tusq nut and to my dismay everything about is wrong. The E to E spacing is nowhrere near the original bass. The A and D are almost there, but not quite and the E to E are too far apart. Ive have measured this nut against my 78 jazz and a 2010 bass. A lot closer to a Precision nut me thinks. So at the moment I have a new bass nut for sale.

Hope your stay is a long one
9. Would you believe it .......Out of stock
10. Anyone know of a U/K based site that would supply a Fender Jazz Bass nickle string retainer.
11. You will find that the majority of well know bands played covers before venturing into writing their own material for example Pink Floyd,The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple,Eric Clapton I can go on forever. The Idea of playing Cover songs is not necessarily to cover the to the letter unless you are a party type band. Listen to the Radio One live lounge and you will have an idea about what I'm talking about. Songs have been covered by jazz and blues musicians from from year dot. It's a good way of getting to Know what makes a band tick also you will find a bigger audience to support you and also a bit of cash. I have seen so many young bands playing to empty halls or for ticket sales on the door all doing original stuff.OK I have mentioned a few of the old rockers but take it from me, old rocker or modern rocker most have played covers. I'm not saying it's wrong to want to write your own material but put some covers in with a blend of your own stuff and you will be on your way. I challenge you to do your own cover in your own style, not a carbon copy version of a band or bands that you are influenced by and you will see how challenging that is.
12. Hi, I have been playing bass on and off for 25 years now. I own two Fender Jazz Basses one a modded '76' and the other a '78' and a Bass Collection Speakeasy 4 all played through EBS equipment. My main influences are Victor Wooten, Jaco Pastorius, Wes Montgomery, Charlie Parker and Ronny Jordan. I play quite regularly in a jazz quintet and a rock band. I also play a variety of other instruments but love the bass.
13.
There should be plenty of schematics of both Jazz and Precisions basses knocking around the net that'll supply you with the measurements you need so you can plonk it on properly.
Thanks for your help
