  1. As soon as your item tracking says it's in customs, ring them and pay the fee - otherwise they send a letter which can take 3-4 days if Royal Fail can even be bothered
  2. If you buy my Wingbass I guarantee that it'll fit in this bag
  3. This should be front page news, under the headline 'the real cost of climate change' - just like when the war in Ukraine meant my mum couldn't get her knitting patterns any more! Glad you got it sorted, that must have been really mind boggling to happen especially to two basses at once.
  4. Nice. One of the best Smiths I’ve played was a JJ Burner like that. Enjoy 👍🏼
  5. Thank you - she’s fine now but had to have nice teeth removed. She literally hasn’t noticed. Insurance will only pay out if you’ve been with them a year, which isn’t in any of the actual policy docs but hidden in a pdf on their site. I’ve lodged a complaint and ordered a scud missile on eBay so we’ll wait and see. TBH finances are ok and I don’t desperately need to sell anything but it’s given me an excuse to have a bit of a rationalisation. Sybil’s tongue sticks out now that her teeth don’t hold it in 😂
  6. I mean you might as well
  7. I could stick a stamp on it!! I could also send it down to Banbury in a couple of weeks time with my brother If that’s any better?
  8. 🤣 You know I can replace your avatar any time I like
  9. Thanks, I did this terrible video a while back but it gives you some sense of what it could sound like in more capable hands
  10. Great little amplifier for sale. It's never left the house as it's used in my home studio to power a baseboard, which it has done with tons of power to spare. Currently loaded with two different Spectracomp tone prints. It's in great condition and has never skipped a beat. Some mild wear to the edge of the top panel and top of chassis. £300 collected form York, or will post. I no longer have the box but will find something suitable. Cheers ped
  11. In superb condition, I don;t think I've ever used this one apart from at home as a glorified dust cover. I've been using Fusion bags for a while and have found them to be the best mixture of weight, protection and comfort. Usually these cases contain a long velcro pad that you can adjust internally, however mine isn’t shown in the pictures. It is included though. Collection from York area or I can post for £100 Cheers ped
  12. Great bag, really nicely made and robust. I don't think I've ever taken it out of the house. More pics and 'review' here Collection from York (Pocklington) Cheers ped
  13. Hi folks Bit vet bill. She's insured, but the insurance won't cover it. I expect I'll be successful in my appeal but cashflow problems force the sale of some gear. I had this WIngbass 5 modified to take the Roland GK system (so you can play synths like the GR55/GR20/VB99/Vbass) as well as the usual pickup. These are fantastic fun little basses - essentially a bass chopped off at the 12th fret. Super low action, great sound, super portable and with an octave, a genuine Swiss army knife! I have the official case and even a special strap for the bass. I documented the installation of the GK system here if you want a really deep dive! If you don't need/want to use it, it can be simply ignored and used without. I originally bought it on a whim and really fell in love with it, finding it super easy to throw in the car and take on holiday but also for playing in front of the TV. Specs: -Black limba body -Flamed maple top -18mm spacing -Bartolini pickup -Satin finish (feels amazing) -No truss rod - fretboard is glued right to the body, so it's totally flat and super stable. -Controls are volume, passive tone, and GK assignable knob, then two buttons, again assignable (momentary/latching) depending on what yer plugging into) -Elixir super light strings (it takes your normal strings, chopped in half!!) -‘built in’ tuner 😂 Any questions please ask away. I'm in York so would love to meet somewhere near, or I can post in a medium envelope (lol) Cheers ped
  14. Quite surprised how good the squier pickup sounds from those clips. Not much in it - the lollar sounds a bit more ‘open’
  15. I’ve been talking to these guys https://www.northernpickups.co.uk/mustang-bass Worth a look imo
  16. I think the LaBella Mustang set are probably about the same gauge as the stock strings but I could be wrong. With lighter strings I've never had to adjust a nut before but I don't mind having to if that's the case. I'll be tempted to give it a fret level and probably shield it too - I'll probably end up tinkering a fair bit!
  17. Thanks. I think I’ll give those a go then👍🏼 I’m not planning on changing anything else but I saw a company in Yorkshire makes a replacement pickup which looks quite fruity from the specs https://www.northernpickups.co.uk/mustang-bass Can’t see any reviews though and the stock pickup sounds fine from the vids on YT
  18. Thanks! Yes it looks like LaBella do 760FLMUS which are specifically through body. 43/60/82/104 seems like a fair increase over my FX long scale so reckon they'll feel quite familiar. That said, the bass sounds pretty nice with rounds: I expect it'll need some fettling to get it playing and feeling it's best but like I say it should fun... the only other Mustang I've played was a natural finish late 70s one that sounded terrible so let's see!
  19. Hi folks I'm taking ownership of a Squier Mustang bass next week. I think it has the strings it came with on at the moment (anyone know what they are? I know they're rounds..) My preference for strings on standard scale: Flats - Labella 760fx (0.039 - 100ish) Rounds - Exlixir super light (40-95) I will probably want flat son the 'stand but given the reduction in scale I was thinking about the LaBella 760FL S Flat wound (43/60/82/104). These are short scale - various people say because of the thru body stringing that I'll need medium scale, but nobody seems certain! Anyone know? (edit - it says they're not suitable on LaBella site) Elixir never made short scale rounds but I might try chopping down a long scale set (I have plenty!) Anyone else have any particular recommendations? The Labellas are £40 form Bass Direct which seems good. I'm quite looking forward to checking out the Squier. Should be good fun! Cheers ped
  20. Enfield used to offer a carbon wrapped neck didn't they? Not sure if the benefit was mostly aesthetic or whether they sounded and acted like you’d expect.
  21. Just relaxing in the pool today
  22. I was going to say these two but now that feels a bit inadequate now!!
