My first vid...

Haha yeah maybe I prefer the low stuff.. the high end stuff sounds lovely too though, very skillful playing mate, I really like it - but I am more down with those tasty double stops and choked 16th groovelets. The F sounds great too. Now do a fretless vid!! Noticed the other day you are endorsed by Lull now - got one on order? Tell all!! ped

My first vid...

Cool vid Jamie, great jamming... great bassjamming! I especially like the groovy lower down bits like at 1.20(from the end). Hopefully now you have worked out how to do them you wil record some more vids to share? Cheers ped
3. Good decision Kev - find a bass you like and stick with it. No point changing for the sake of it. Play on ped
4. I sold my 5 string series 3 without a case for £1000 I think.
5. On second look it is definitely a series 3 bass (10/90 neck, those two lines are 70% carbon (unusually dense) rods making up 10% of the neck) and it looks to be in standard config and pretty good shape. It says it comes with a case... see if it is one of the rare and classy zip up soft/light cases. It took me ages to find a second one for my fretted!
6. Thanks! It is my #1 without a doubt, and now with the Vbass pickup installed it can dispense with the need for a Jaz or a Musicman and lots of other things which simply don't feel anything like as comfy as this to me (not to disrespect these greats in any way of course, just what's comfortable and what I'm used to) It has a graphite thru-neck, it runs to the front of the first pickup. I think the mixture of the graphite neck and the soft body wood (think it is alder, bit unsure) is quite magical... the mix is just right it seems. I firmly believe that the body/neck type play a large part in the sound. It is very clear and bassy without being wooly or boomy and has a lovely flat top end which is really even and consistent. Those strings are about a year old, too!! Cheers ped
7. I dunno, to be honest without playing it first I would be careful... also do you know what model it is, what the serial # is etc? ped
8. Sounds like it will cost 70 Euros and take a couple of days - very reasonable. Why not post the Spanish here, chances are someone will speak it. Cheers ped P.s listening to 'Stolen Babies' and it sounds pretty cool. Bass sound is definitely Vigier type I would say - difficult to say because he is using a fairly driven sound but the clarity and punch from the Vigier shines through I think. Welcome to come and try mine!
9. I have never heard of them.. will take a listen!
10. Cheers Bubinga - seriously get a lil video or something recorded, I wouldn't worry about embarassing yourself, there is value in the way everyone plays and we can all learn from each other. Rub some funk on it! Cheers ped
11. Yeah Kiwi had a Buzz and it truly did sing its little heart out! I think my MVP was an '87 too... Good luck with the sale mate ped
12. Very nice! I had an Ebony board MVP a while back and it was fantastic. This one looks very striking indeed, I would love to hear how the maple board affects the sound. Got any full shots to show off that finger board? Cheers ped (formerly pedullaman!)
13. Yeah! Good tip. I prefer an extremely low action and zero relief on my carbon neck as I play extremely lightly and really like a bit of clank when I dig in. Luckily my bass neck hasn't moved since 1988 and I haven't adjusted the bridge for many years (since I started using Elixirs) Cheers ped
14. Probably seen this before!! Do you have any? Good idea, would love to see more! Cheers ped

Wal's...
Oh my god... GAS attack or what? *drool* Anybody know what the going rate for a kidney is these days?
Nearly as good as a V-bass, that ;0)
16. Yep! Definitely. I would really like to try some really REALLY multi stringed basses for a laugh, it makes going back to the 4 seem both very easy and difficult because of the lack of room as it were in comparison. All of course builds experience and is a fun ride. ped

Carbon bass?

Cool, I thought as much - it looks like it has been assembled with lots of skill. Cheers ped

Carbon bass?

Looks beautiful, that. One small thing, it might be the picture but is the neck a bit wonky, looks like it is leaning to the right from the front of the bass picture and to the left from the behind pic? Cheers ped
19. I might edit mine and make you look like a tool lol Cheers ped
20. I will see what I have got, I fear many have been tucked away somewhere! I will look 'em out for you.
21. I have tried G77's thumb and found the neck to be extremely nice, pencil thin and very comfy. I have never played a new one but I thought the 'Warwicks have far necks' thing was a misnomer, or perhaps it is true of the recent ones? I am not very 'up' on Warwicks at all, so don't listen to me.
22. Dr. Dave is not property of Hipshot Products, Inc., 8248 State Rte 96, Interlaken, NY 14847. Please refer any questions to the said member via the web form at http://www.hipshotproducts.com/contact.htm I have a Marleaux T and cap and copious amounts of stickers... also Vigier T shirts, Rotosound T shirt (dunno why, use it for painting), a Bassdirect polo and sole Line6 stuff... most of it was sent free by various contacts, so no harm in asking someone. I also got a massive Ritter basses 'seal' rear window sticker on my old volvo which totally obscured rear vision which was quite cool.
23. Coated strings other than Elixirs make no sense because the strings are coated before being wound, making the gaps filled with coating from new. This makes them sound pretty nasty very quickly. Elixir coat them after the wrapping (they have patented this method) so the crap can't get in there to begin with. As a result they last an extremely long time! They don't do coloured ones though I am afraid!! Cheers ped
24. I also really like them. To be frank I think Ibanez make some of the best basses out there for the price, and some even at prices way above! Cheers ped
