1. Dudes Just tried to use my audio interface and do on all at once to make a video. Couple of issues - the sound spikes a couple of times and the drums are really loud and the loop is rubbish as you will hear. I THINK I have the problems worked out now - my brother is going to record some actual drum grooves so I can demonstrate my Vbass a bit and I now know how to adjust the levels of everything in Cubase (worked it out as soon as I had packed everything away, of course) Here is the shabby attempt - guess the quality etc is OK.. had the sound and the visuals synced up perfectly but after uploading to youtube I think it is very slightly out. Cheers ped
2.
Looking through the Vintage range, I have infact decided that my next bass will be the Vintage AV4+1:
That looks gorgeous... rarely do I see a take on the Jazz shape which 'works'. Tasty.
3. Welcome back mate. One word of caution - sometimes you get REALLY used to the sound of your bass, and playing something else instantly sounds better (though may not feel as nice) because it sounds new and interesting. Give it a month or so and go back to the Warwick with fresh ears, and it will sound new again, and take you by surprise. I have made the mistake of selling basses which I have listened back to on recordings and thought ''aww that sounds lovely!'' Cheers ped
4. Cheers Mark - please pop back and let us know what you are up to, bas or otherwise ;0) All the best ped
5. FWIW lots of audio interfaces come with a decent recording programme. I recently got a Tascam one and it came with Cubase 4.
6. Good tune - it feels a bit 'rushed' in terms of tempo, would like to hear it kicked back a tad. Nicely sums up my feelings about my ex though, so well done. Great effort, keep it coming. ped
7.
I'm almost 100% certain that used to be mine before it was stolen from me in 1987! For nothing more than sentimentalty's sake, I'm going to contact Paul at Wal to see if he can check in the book for me.. I bought in 1983 from a long-since defunct music shop in Barnet, London and it was my first ever Wal.. Did a few tours with it and then it was stolen from a rehearsal studio called Prime Time in London Bridge where we were based.. Turned out the guy who did the break in was Dexy's Midnight Runner's drummer and though he was nicked, we never got any of our gear back!!
I think we should have a whip around and buy it back for you :0)

11. Quite a boxy sound isn't it - wonder what was used to record it.
12. Just knew the bassline would be fat before it came in!! Another great line, cheers - keep them coming!!! ped

Hot bass shots

Aye, that's right. Here is a pic of it without that smelly girl in the way: Lovely bass and a bit unique. Capable of a range of sounds from traditional 'mwah' to full on slap. It makes a good pair with the fretted. Only thing is I want to change out the pickups because they are noisy when soloed and change the bridge for the Schaller 3d used on the fretted so I can get a Roland pickup on there, too (the Kahler on there at the moment fills the small gap needed between the bridge and back pickup). I will get round to it at some point, but it is still wonderful to play as it is. Cheers ped
Ped! You look stunning mate, what ya doing tonight? x Incidentally, the orange flower is known in the trade as `crocosmia', part of the same family as the gladioli/irises!
Lovely stuff, thanks - have updated the pics title. Tonight? Just sitting down and looking at a wall for a bit

I can't get the shutter speed fast enough to capture your blisteringly fast playing. Remember we tried that one time and the carpet set on fire? Or were we doing something else? Can't remember...

Hehe She's playing the Epiphone ET-180 or something - a little short scale bass which I will have up for sale soon. Tayste has one, too. Cheers ped

19. I think they are the Zon equivalent of my own fave bass... would love to try one and compare... eBay you say? ;0)
20. Love the Legacy... lovely
21. Great bass and obviously one you feel really 'at home' on because of the time you have spent working with it. It looks very tactile and funky. I would love to try one! ped
22. Just let me have a go on that soon!
23. Lovely lovely lovely lovely!
24. What I like is the consistency. Vigier have a very clever system where the graphite neck in half neck-thru so it stops just before the pickups. I think the key to a good graphite neck is first of all stability (not all I have tried or owned have been straight and I can't stand much neck relief) and the body wood character is even more critical than with a wooden neck, IME. Get the right wood on the right neck and the two resonate and work together beautifully. There is no single best way of doing it and there are many good and bad necks, graphite or otherwise, and I think the neck itself is merely a part of the whole picture. As a sum of its parts, a graphite neck will enhance (or spoil) a bass depending on a whole host of other factors. Cheers ped
