This is that French programme hosted by Manu Katché where he gets different famous musicians together and gets then to jam through things - everything that Later with Jools Holland should be but isn't.
Really?? Manu is one of my fave drummers and the first musician I knew by name.
Just found this video. Normally I find Marcus' playing a bit wild but love it when he sticks in the pocket. Not sure what the video is about but it looks like he cooks up this bassline in no time and totally nails the tune. Of course he can't help but try and own the tune with a cheeky solo, too...

That's interesting. I use Elixirs and have had the same set on my fretted for over a year and they how no signs of flaking whatsoever (though I never use a pick) and still sound fresh.
Without wanting to sound a bit of a loser, my dream bass sound is my own sound, which I don't think sounds like anyone else. Obviously I have MANY fave bass sounds from all sorts of music, but the tone for 'me' is 'mine'.
Really!! Wouldn't be Peter would it?
I literally sent the money to the printing company yesterday so hoping to drop them off for printing this week with a view to getting them sold and sent the following week with any luck. Sorry it is taking so long but I bought a decent sized batch and it took me a while to save the money for them.
Cheers

Hi mate
When i had Ableton I downloaded the Reason Demo just to try setting up VSTs in the programme. The demo limits you to 20 mins but more than enough if you know what you want and how to get it. Give it a shot!

Maybe some foo' could bung the data in a spreadsheet and make all kinds of entertaining 3D charts with the data!! maybe we should each measure our highest and lowest strings to get a better overall picture? Or is that getting complicated!!

Yeah so was I - actually my low D string is visibly higher than the rest - if we were talking the high D and G it would be far lower (like the popping strings as low as possible)
G string is a shade over 1mm at the 17th...
