1. I'm going to have to weigh mine before she gets home and catches me. I will weigh Sybil, too. Last time she was 9.5kg just for your info lol
  2.
Off on a tangent, Ms emg is off to see Paul Young next month in Southampton so we've had his old stuff out. Loving that synthy octave bass on Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down. Edit: https://www.youtube....h?v=YTWt_pKiMl4 which bass?
[s]That's a Vigier Arpege fretless (Delta Metal) series 1 from the early 80s. [/s] Sorry I mean a 61 stacked knob jazz
  3. I quite like TB, used to be on there a lot before BC - the main thing I disliked was the US based marketplace. Hardly their fault I've been given warnings there for things that I wouldn't do here, but their house, their rules etc. Lots of good info there and some friendly people, but sadly not many Vigier players - for that I head to French forum OnlyBass
That's a great idea!
But then we might as well have a sub forum for chorus pedals, another for envelope filters - more people will have those than a DIY pedal. Good idea to make a new thread for your own DIY project though, that'll make it much easier.
  5. Here's a fretless effect I made on my Roland VB99 https://soundcloud.com/chris-hiscocks/seismic-mellow-short1 Not too bad in the mix, and great fun
  6.
I was at looking at something earlier with a strip of LEDs - had a quick look but couldn't find it...I'll persevere.
FretFX?
  7.
Yes ped, we played the The Pit when it was a venue. Once you had 10 people in there it was full up
Notice you're into photography too! Long lost brother?
  8.
Yes ped, we played the The Pit when it was a venue. Once you had 10 people in there it was full up
I wonder if you ever played with a band called Kudo? They were some metal outfit from my sixth form and I did 'guest bass' on one song so the bassist could jump around a bit. I remember the band being fascinated that I used more than one string to play the bassline!
  9. Hey welcome to BC. I'm from Witney too (live in York now) and in fact I started this very website (previously called bassworld) at Henry Box School (there will be a blue plaque on the gate one day!) We used to play a few places around Witney, Langdale Hall was good back in the day and Nortons was fun, too. Anyone remember 'The Pit' behind the Hollybush?
  10. Affiliates forum Every retailer has to offer a BC discount.
  11. Ah too late thanks chaps
  12. Hi there There's an FAQ somewhere at the top I think. But yes; post your ad and you'll be directed to the page afterwards to choose either £7 for a single ad or £20 for a year's worth unlimited. Hope that helps any questions let me know And welcome back! Cheers
  13.
It's all about image and marketing even if it is only an April Fools post on Facebook. And for a company like Fodera that pride themselves on the quality of their instruments and attention to detail, if a job is worth doing then it should be worth doing properly. Besides if they spent even a little time on it they would have been able to find plenty of Photoshop artists willing to to a completely realistic looking job for under $50.
Maybe they did it for a laugh, you know, April Fools
  14. I had a full revalve of my Mesa 400+ a few years ago. Spoke to them on the phone about my requirements and they couldn't have been more helpful.
Great job I like this bass : a natural finish with a modern neck is a really cool combination. Hi from France, Ped
Thanks, she feels as good as she looks - over the moon with this bass!
I agree with those who think this thread should still be stickied. It has far more claim to be a reference thread than the pedalboard one, which is more of a vanity thread. It's not as if the effects forum, unlike others, is drowning in stickies.
I don't want to derail the thread but I honestly don't think anyone would dip into a 46 page thread for reference; anyone interested would participate, surely - thus bumping the thread and creating more discussion, plus bookmarking it in their content? Not trying to be awkward but that's the way it works
I think there is a lot of point, particularly for a long running but slow moving thread packed with useful info, the kind of information that helps to give Basschat it's credibility. I also don't understand why you have picked on this thread but left the pedalboard thread in this forum, and virtually every other stickied thread in many of the other forums. There are many other threads far less worthy than this one. Another alternative would be to fix the Wiki. Please reconsider.
I'm unpinning a number of threads in an effort to reorganise a bit. The only things that will be pinned are announcements and rules etc. IMO pinning a conversational type thread is the best way of having it ignored - any topic worth any value will continue to bounce up and down as it gets more comments, and current participants can always find it just as easily. The wiki wasn't used by many people - about 2% in it's lifetime - again, a forum's lifeblood is conversation, and though I can see the value in storing information away, it's not what Basschat is for. Most of the topics here could be answered with some research but we aren't a resource like that. Not trying to ruin anyone's fun BTW, just a little wisdom learned over the years in forum behaviour. Cheers ped

I unstuck it - we only really want to stick announcements and so forth. No point in sticking a forum thread, really?
  19. If you're on the desktop site play around with the filters at the side. Make sure it says content you haven't read and deselect everything else by clicking any that are orange.
  20. It's here. And it's great. Such a lovely sounding amp and seriously loud and full sounding. Rich, clear and punchy. if I can't find another for the stereo setup I may buy a second ABM300 and one of the cabs mentioned above or even a wedge cab. That was I can run channel B through that. Sitting under my desk and hooked up to the VB99 it makes a great sub to go with my office HIFI too. I'll take some proper pics of it this weekend. Looks great; it's been gigged hard and has some mojo. 21. I just listen to music and visualise the bassline, or my own interpretation of it. I have a playlist on iTunes that I add songs to that I want to play when I'm next sitting at my computer bass in hand and same on Youtube. I think some time away from the instrument is a good thing because playing bass is as you know all about listening

  23.
Bloody steal!
I'll be a while before it arrives I think what with the bank hol and all. It'll be fun though I remember putting a cushion on my old one and using it as a seat. Great little amp and I'll make sure I keep this one. If I kept the old one I'd have a sweet stereo setup now... We live and learn I was talking to Mark Gooday today about a BC competition (watch this space) and he's going to see if he can find the original brochure/manual etc. I'll share anything he can find. I also didn't notice the amp has chicken head knobs on it until he mentioned it!
  24.
Was that the one on eBay? I almost went for that...!
That's right. £150 isn't bad - I think I paid over £400 when I used to have one!
