  1. Yeah although now you mention it maybe a bass too (As long as you like the tonal properties of felt and construction paper)
  2. I reckon someone on etsy could make you one. People make all sorts to order...
  3. Shall I change your username to Unluckystrike
  4. Hi yogi thanks for joining in.
  5. Ah right sorry yeah forgot that. Yes, I’d go with half scale for the main convenience of using standard strings and the fact that it sounds amazing!
  6. I thought I saw Andy had made a gig bag for the NT shape bass? Mine is kind of a cream colour and fits the Classic Wing perfectly, but I think the new ones are black and they fit both shapes.
  7. Last time I imported a bass from the states I wasn't charged a penny, until over ayers later a letter arrived from TNT with a demand for payment (it was still their first letter). If I had the foresight to move house in the interim I don't know what they'd have done... so there's that!!! Specify TNT and get your affairs in order!!
  8. Thanks! I wanted to try doing recording and syncing the video with audio, which I haven't done before. I'll try and do a better one at some stage because I learned a lot from making that one! I also demonstrated only a few patches on the unit so will perhaps rehearse and plan a more 'professional' vid one weekend!! As you can see/hear, although my initial assumption would be that this bass would be a bit of a travel bass which I'd always use with an octave, it has become a superb sounding and playing bass in it's own right, and I only occasionally use it with an octave; and when I do, it has a really sweet synthy sound that works really well in a mix (which I'll try and demonstrate next time, too!!)
  9. And the criminal ‘handling charge’
  10. I put one here somewhere. Not necessarily a ‘good’ video but at least you can hear it properly (sound direct into computer) Search for Wingbass demo ah here it is
  11. I’m in York if you’re ever nearby. I’ll give you a shout when I’m next in London. Would be nice to have a drink anyway.
  12. What’s the reason for the longer scale? If you’re going to go small, might as well go SMALL - and half scale makes sense due to the use of standard strings etc. I’m not convinced that anything longer in the same octave would achieve a better sound. Then again it could be about feel, in which case you have my permission ;). You’re about twice as tall as me so think it might be about right!
  13. @Ashdown Engineering are very helpful here.
  14. Not enough string trees for me
  15. I’ll just push him back in, one sec. *gnnnnhhhhghh* OK as you were. Admin stuff etc.
  16. Sounds cool. Even though it’s quite expensive, it’s probably about half you’d expect to pay for a custom full scale instrument I guess. Having found the perfect full scale bass this whole half scale thing is great fun. Interesting to use a split pickup. Given the scale length I wonder if the tonal difference will be amplified between the front and back portion of the pickup. If so, you could consider reversing the pickup too. As I got lucky with my Wing I’ll probably get a fretless next. Think it’ll really ‘sing’. Not sure whether to get a matching colour and wood type or go different. Can you imagine how cute a double gigbag would be lol
  17. Excellent, let us know any updates
  18. If you want a stand for it (you know, so you can have it next to the sofa!) the Hercules Mini fits perfectly.
  19. Looks lovely! How are you getting on with it? I saw this one in stock and was tempted to get it turned fretless. Any mods planned? I’ve been chatting with another UK wingbasser who has a red left handed bass, so he should join in soon. Every bassist needs one of these!
  20. Have a great time everyone. Sorry I can’t be there. Looking forward to pics.
  21. TC BH800 is a good option. Loads of power and two 'tone prints' will let you dial in some grit and compression to taste. AH just seen you're sorted - enjoy, hope you like it!
  22. Sorry So you sold the Stradi and bought a Wingbass? Got pics?!
  23. 34" because that's what the manufacturer deemed to be best, mainly. I have had a 36" Jazz Bass (Bacchus) before, felt fine, doubt I' have noticed if it didn't say. I also have a 17" bass which is just tons of fun.
