  1. Cheers they’re Elixir 45-105 steels. Bass is in drop D tuning. Should point out that it’s not a standard mustang though (full story here if you haven’t seen it! https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/471651-modding-a-66-mustang-really-really/page/5/
  2. I just bought one of these tuners (wish I’d bought yours instead!) so I thought I’d just mention that they’re great. It was the only size that would fit on my pedalboard so I thought I’d give it a try. I was fully expecting to send it back but it’s super fast and stable. Much prefer it to my TU-2. Bargain for the price!
  3. Thanks! I'm dragging at the start but I'll spend longer on it at the weekend and do a better one.
  4. Recorded a bit of my 66 Mustang today. Backing track is my band, used Moises to remove the bass and put mine over. Backing track is only a demo so not 100% full quality but it gives you some idea. Love the sound of this bass, it just sits and pokes out when needed. Blue Horizon snippet.mp3
  5. It’s like they know me
  6. You think you've got a bass distortion? Think again. The DOD FX58 sounds ridiculously heavy even with the knob at zero. No low end loss, becomes quite a deadly fuzz character when cranked. Presence is like a high end rolloff. I've always had a soft spot for DOD pedals, and this one will brighten your FX shelf (TM) like nothing else. Price includes postage, I'm afraid I don't have the box. Takes 9V battery or centre positive power supply.
  7. Fred keeps asking if the bass can be his when I'm dead, seems like he's hoping I'll snuff it soon! I said it'll be sold on the open market and if he wants to put a bid in, that's fine.
  8. Alex bought a Backbeat unit from me - very quick payment and great comms, making me one happy seller! Enjoy the gadget and thanks again.
  9. It may be only admin who have this code option on the editor. If you put the code in a post I'll see if I can get it to work in your signature
  10. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1637946400/chicken-head-pointer-knob-transparent?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=chicken+head+knob&content_source=2f368a73963e917dc177feb772c22c4364c593b0%3A1637946400&search_preloaded_img=1 Any good?
  11. I think they're referred to as 'Top Hat' as opposed to Chicken Head, if it helps you search.
  12. Authy has been depreciated on this software now for some reason - the only option other than Google or Security Questions is Verfiy, a paid, text based service which will take some setting up. I’ll look into it later 👍🏼
  13. I did, it’s like they totally ignored them. I drew a diagram of the angled 1/4” jack to female jack lead and they messaged back with a link to a normal cable and said “something like this?” Two emails later and I’m going somewhere else depending on their reply maybe tomorrow.
  14. Here's how the Boss works with the Backbeat
  15. Sounds good. I’ve just had a rather infuriating email conversation with designacable asking quite simply for two leads, one right angle jack to Jack with 70cm between them and another like the one you’ve pictured but angled male jack and 1.5” long (to plug receiver into pedalboard so it doesn’t stick out) and they’ve misinterpreted me twice now!
  16. I’ve just bought a really cheap tuner (Vivlex?) https://amzn.eu/d/7hUpQZp It’s pretty bang on tbh, much faster and more stable than my TU2. I find that the Boss can ‘hunt’ quite a bit so I’m never sure how accurately I’m in tune. Maybe it’s too accurate? Either way the new one is steady and really fast. I think the technology has clearly moved on a lot since I bought the TU2, I’ve previously had TC Polytune Clip (though for bass you might as well get the Unitune) which is excellent but I wanted a pedal and the TC pedal was too wide.
  17. That’s really cool. I like the necks to be parallel
  18. Super cool. I think I’ve seen and admired that body shape before (albeit a singular necked instrument). Guessing the controls are shared by both sets of pickups and switched by the toggle in the centre? I think it makes more sense having the fretless on top, but some are the opposite.
  19. I was hoping you’d ignore that but I’m happy to take whatever punishment you deem appropriate. In the future I’ll submit a proper TCESCAS-01/24 form. I was going to buy a ‘Loknob’ (by D’Addario) but I didn’t want it appearing in the joint account 🫣😂
  20. Just a little update now that I’m using a spectracomp. Also managed to get a small cheapo tuner on there which actually works brilliantly, tracks my detuned Mustang perfectly! Also put a little gooseneck LED lamp on there because the rest of the band have them and I was jealous. Mind you, they’re all using Neural Cortex things and they call my pedalboard “the pedal museum” Signal flow is: Mutron (running at 24v) Distortion (dry output to tuner) Fuzz Bassballs Spectracomp Warm Audio DI HPF (at 18v) Powered by a CIOKS DC5
  21. Hm. Where’s the serial number anyway?
  22. I’m starting to recognise quite a few basses which for one reason or another keep going back up for sale 🤔
  23. If you get a Backbeat on your strap you can use a short cable from your bass like an angled one to the pack, then plug the wireless into the output of the pack. Then it’s on your back and out of the way. The form factor of the boss would have been a concern for me otherwise.
