1. Hey Ahmed, Glad you're enjoying the bass. A scratch on the polepiece (the exposed metal bit on the pickup) won't effect the sound. The 'orgasming goat' sound is the string making contact with the polepiece. To avoid this, practise playing softer or lower the pickup so its out of range of the string. I'm sure others will pitch in, but everything sounds normal to me! Dan

    Help Me

I was in a similar position to you (at least regarding the OD) and opted for a cheap secondhand DHA VT Dual Bass. It really is a great pedal and when you crank it, it even compresses a little. He now has a bunch of newer pedals that look even better so a thumbs up for DHA from me too. Also, its hand-made (I think) in the UK so its got that extra blag-factor!
The Xpander doesnt get a lot of use as it can make everything sound very samey. Punch factory and DHA is a great mixture but i want to try the DHA compressor next. The punch factory is so simple to use and almost impossible to get a bad sound out of. I prefer 'subtle' and dont do 'boutique' but if the xpander goes id put a Digitech X-BSW in there
Samey how? For session stuff I'd love a pedal that makes my amazing basses sound less personal. Is that what you mean? Dan

  5. Welcome to the site man! People are generally sensitive to people where English isn't their first language but I think your post about the delay was so well written, everyone assumed you were a native speaker! Any pictures / sound samples of the delay? Start a new thread and I'll check it out! Dan
  6.
Your comment shines a very glorious light on your interhuman abilities.
+1 to what Tom said. Whether this was intended as an insult or not, I intend to quote it. An excellent and thoroughly flamboyant use of the English language! Well done, sir! Dan
  7. I want the audience to consider my bands (all originals) as professional, memorable and good. You can convey all of this before you've even played a note by having the right image. Dan
  8. I love the Uberhorn fingerboard. The colours are so tasteful too. I'm usually a painted-finish guy but wow!
  9. In the interests of space, has anyone had any experience running a Moogerfooger with a centre-positive converter AND a Virtual Battery/Diago isolator? I tried with just the polarity inverter but the whine was unbearable! Dan

  11. Well I went to Maplins and the assistant seemed reasonably knowledgable but had never encountered a 90 degree travel pot. I bought a standard one but I doubt its going to do the job I need it to! I'll check Banzai later too but any experiences or solutions would be great!
It used to be a Peavey Spectrum Filter and a Peavey Bassfex (for the sync delay), but at the moment its an AdrenaLinn Mk1 (filter and/or delay) and a Bass Pod XT Pro (sync delay). I also have an Electrix MoFx which does sync delay, sync tremolo and sync flange, but that's normally used on the guitar.
You have great taste in effects. I'm currently rocking an Adrenalinn II for synced filters. I'll post up my pics when the effects rig is done. I'll check the peavey stuff out. Dan

  14. Hey guys I'm modding a volume pedal to be used as a expression pedal. I know the pot needs a log taper and has to be 100k (for this application). The thing I'm struggling with is the travel of the pot. The travel of the pot is about 90 degrees whereas the replacements I've bought travel about 270 degrees. What should I be asking for in the electronics shop to get a pot with this 90 degree travel? Dan

No, Tom, YOU can't have enough dirt. Most of us are happy with a handful of soil but you, sir, need a Mexico-based land-grab company. Dan
cheater cheater!!
Yeah, I'm sure a ground control system only counts as one pedal (ignoring the other 20 in the rack behind you). I'm liking the fact that nearly everyone likes a bit of dirt!! Dan
  18. Ground Control / GCX Audio Switcher Combined they allow you to hook up all your pedals then turn them on/off separately and change settings on midi-controlled gear. That'll be what he uses too. Dan

Hey guys, The 'Holy Trinity' was mentioned in the cover band thread and I was about to add mine but I wondered... 'How many variations can there be?' Mine? Octave Fuzz Filter Sick synth madness!! What's yours? Dan
  22. Yeah the micro and the MS series are the same engine (and I think they share a lot of presets). Dan
