4. hi just thought id share this and if people can keep a look out that would be great,i dont know this guy who had his stuff stolen it just came up on fb and original post below; People of Brum, please keep an eye out for the following music equipment which has been stolen from my gaff in Moseley whilst I've been at work: Two Technics 1210 mk5 decks Pioneer djm600 mixer MacBook Pro (with a banksy sticker on it - further spec available) Focusrite saffire pro 24 dsp Rane serato sl2 Roland tr8 drum machine Korg volca sample Korg volca drum Ableton push 1 Shure M44-7 needles Sennheiser HD 25 headphones Two genelec 8030a monitors Two fluid fader series f4 monitors UDG 'Ultimate' backpack They haven't stolen any of the boxes so it will be unboxed. They also stole my hard drive and it isn't backed up anywhere else, so that's basically my entire musical 'career' done. I hope whoever took it scores a number one. They also stole a suit, a bunch of cufflinks and collar stiffeners, a few watches, a bottle of Bombay sapphire, some tools, two suitcases, a tub of creatine, a tub of protein and a pillow(?!) so I'm expecting these criminals to be well dressed, hench as f***, tipsy and quite cosy. Please share this out to see if we can catch these rascals. Please and thank you. i dont know this guy who had his stuff stolen it just came up on fb and original post below https://www.facebook...224?pnref=story
5. looks like you can scroll through the list of parameters so can be more than four per effect and it looks like its just an updated b3 so software will be the same and there is an aux in which the b3 doesnt have but it doesnt look like it can be battery powered either. the extra pedal buttons might make it easier to change patches too and no xlr connecter which was on the b3
6. you feel sorry for the dancers and everyone else who were there to put on a good show for everyone. am i presuming right there would have been dance rehearsals too?
7. oh i have the 60xl and i would say they are good for what they are with plenty of punch GLWTS
8. thanks for that one ashweb, unfortunately its that time of year with fake delivery emails to from alleged parcel companies
9. if you are not happy with it send it back if you cant live with it and its always going to bother you
10.
Strange but true - A friend of mine who lives in Long Eaton (about 8 miles away from the Donington site) said she could hear the bass from the Black Sabbath set, while out walking the dog!
yep my sister can confirm that too as another long eatonian, sounded better on the sunday as thats the day we went
11. I would have been buying a new bass today but.... my bank balance wont let me
12. i think Mr project c is suffering from room size envy as he does live in london where that room is normally used to house a small family
13. ok little tune no get up to it though, the clapping was very annoying though, could only really tell it was the peppers from fleas bass and anthony keid singing but if you replaced them with other players you wouldnt be able to distinguish the song as the peppers.
14.
It's an Ibanez ATK pickup. A quick rub of the frets with wire wool will tidy them up.
thanks for that info about the pickup and i did think about using wire wool on them but save that for a later date
15. yes perhaps a toned down h r giger aliens inspired design is what i thought at first glance but that maybe more down to the colour
16. what didnt you like about the sound?, there have been a few models with different pups on them.
17. I picked up this little unusual bass from ebay, its an Ibanez EDC 710 from the 2003 ergodyne range in black. I just thought it was lovely and curvy and the matt black just highlights this and with being an ibanez it has a lovely thin smooth neck, nice and light and also good quality for what they are. I had never seen one before until i stumbled over it on ebay and thought id add it to my collection as you do now for the spec, it is made from luthite (a type of resin i believe) which enables all those curves to be put into it such as the built in thumb rest grove at the top and hollow under the G string for extra grab. The back is curved too which is supposed to help rest on your body when playing and more comfortable. The longer horns are to help with balance which does work but looks a bit odd. the neck is maple and is all colour matched which i do like in a bass. It has a two bend equalizer one for bass the other for treble and a triple coil pickup with a switch for the coil selector of either attack, bright or trad (i think that is supposed to be traditional but im not sure) I got it pretty grubby but with no scratches or dings on it and after a clean up looks as good as new considering it is 13 years old. the fretboard is still slightly grubby and the frets have lost their shine but i can live with that and the neck bolts have got a bit of corrosion on on the surface but nothing to worry about. I also got some new eric ball slinky roundwounds on as i thought roundwounds suited the aesthetics better than flats and also i think i need to improve my technique slightly did you say you wanted some pics?
18. well im going to start off with some ernie ball slinkys, the cobalts where a bit more expensive but may try later
19. I have been playing with flatwounds as they are lovely and smooth but want to try some rounds as i think they will suit my bass a bit better but i cant stand the squeal that rounds make. so as well as improving my technique can anyone recommend some nice and smooth rounds. Andy
20. wow what a coincidence all your surnames match your instruments, how apt
21.
I think you'll find it's already been butchered.
that is true so i cant do much worse
22. Ian just gave me a bass scales book and he posted it very promptly and good communication too, great to deal with
