  1. High quality big muff pedal in very good condition. The blurb says: "The GREY STACHE is based upon the GGG-tuned and Civil War versions of the EHX Big Muff Pi, creating one versatile guitar AND bass-friendly monster! The tone stack features the ability to keep the unit at "stock" (scooped mids) or boost the mids (important for bassists to punch through in the mix). We offer many mods to allow the user to get everything s/he wants out of a muff." Selling as simplifying my pedal board setup with smaller, more basic (cheaper!) pedals. Cost me £149 a few months ago. £100 handed over in SW13 London, south of Hammersmith Bridge, or add on signed-for/tracked post at cost.
  2. You know the drill, Swiss Army knife of an Ampeg SVT-flavoured preamp/DI/cab sim pedal, built like a tank. Very good condition (edit: just spotted it has a dead clothes moth on top, underneath the GE of VINTAGE, its not a ding!). Selling as simplifying my pedal board setup. £280 handed over in SW13 London, south of Hammersmith Bridge, or add on signed-for/tracked post at cost.
  3. OK so I screwed up the order for some contact cleaner spray (re-ordered, arrives by the weekend ... doh). Reflecting the treble volume knob (which is probably only temperamental due to being left in the 'dimed' position since I owned it - and does work with tweaking) together with the modded nature of the bass, I will drop the price by £100 to £1600 (plus post if needed). Any interest folks?
  4. Typical BC comment: I would take this if my Ric 4000-to-4001 conversion were to sell - which helps you not one jot, since it hasn't sold In which case, please take this as a bump from me for a lovely bass!
  5. Tried the bass again today and the treble pickup knob is still being a bit sketchy. Putting the sale on hold until I have sorted it out. Will order some contact cleaner asap
  6. Try WhatsApp'ing Will on this number. Normally responds v quickly. Think he is also on BC as @Willfunk
  7. Well, I gave the bass a try-out at the gig (pic below) and, while it worked for me, I was just not as comfortable as with my Mustang. So its back up for sale and I will consider near offers on the asking price. No trades. Can also post as have box incoming. For full disclosure, one thing I noticed when setting up at the gig is the treble volume control had cut out, which I restored in a few seconds by giving it several 360 degree turns - I am pretty sure all it needs is a squirt of contact cleaner (or a few turns).
  8. Fair do's Bluewine. I mistakenly took your first reply to me as somewhat high handed and apologise if I came back as somewhat snarky. As @Mickeyboro rightly pointed out, different strokes for different folks. For me, music is a fun sideshow from my main day job(s) and consequently the money side is less important.
  9. Just bought a lovely bass from Niccolo. The whole process from initial comms to delivery was flawless. Many thanks!
  10. Good for you Bluewine. I don't have the opportunity to make money, playing in an originals goth/post-punk band (very niche audience). If I could make decent money doing this, I would of course happily do so. But it's not going to happen and I am fine with that as it's a hobby (like watching football, which costs me a lot each year for my two Arsenal season tickets). To paraphrase you: not getting paid to have fun is also awesome
  11. Oh my God. That's just awful. I bought and sold basses with Nick on many occasions (we used to vie for the most embarrassingly long feedback threads on BC) and he was just such a nice, easygoing guy. He plainly adored his wife Alice (and their dogs) and I believe their favourite piece of music was "Alice in wonderland" by Bill Evans Trio. Leaving that here, thanks for the memories mate. RIP Nick https://youtu.be/aP1Br5gZTSU?si=uVa0E-4z3tGlQ0vy
  12. It was around 1hr 40 min journey both ways. TBH, it takes me most of that to get to rehearsals in NE London (I live in SW London)
  13. The deal was the door receipts would be split between the two bands and they would give us something towards petrol money. In other words, buttons! I don't do it for the money, purely for the fun of gigging (it's a hobby for me). I can only assume the Nottingham band are just trying to build a national following - they were all 50s/60s and have been gigging for decades so I guess they also like the rock and roll life!
  14. I just bought an Orange TB amp from Rick in the time-honoured car park meet, BC style. Super friendly, very easy to deal with and the amp is exactly as described. Very happy 😊
  15. The Pipeline in Brighton last night. Fun but smaller crowd than we would have ideally liked (and I felt for the main act who drove all the way from Nottingham). Guess even a rainy Sunday night doesn't pull out all the goths! Anyhow, my make-or-break test run of Rickenbacker was OK but not as comfortable as my short scale Mustang
  16. I dug out my payment receipts for the Handbox (£855) and Padded custom cover recommended by @wateroftyne (£75), together £930. Plus the DI cable cost £10 ish. So, in response to an offer, I think my price of £750 is fair and firm for a mint amp (and the extras) that's never been outside my house.
  17. If anyone is curious what this amps sounds like, there are a ton of videos from BC's @wateroftyne on his video channel: https://youtube.com/@jollybeggars?si=MbiEsRs5qKhGFp-z
  18. OMG, Nick Cave & Bad Seeds back on form with amazing, anthemic new single Wild God

    1. hiram.k.hackenbacker

      hiram.k.hackenbacker

I like the song, but I'm not crazy about the mix. Sounds very toppy to my ears, but that may well be a Nick Cave thing. I'm far from an expert as far as he's concerned.

    2. hiram.k.hackenbacker

      hiram.k.hackenbacker

….and I’ve only just noticed how long we have to wait for the whole album! August 😬

  19. Sunday! Onstage prob 8/8.30pm

  20. I am going to persevere a bit longer to see if I can cope with the scale length. Might give it a 'make or break' try-out at my goth band's next gig (Sunday 8pm, The Pipeline in Brighton) Withdrawing for now
  21. Well at least we can settle down on a cold, rainy Spring evening and enjoy Book One of his trilogy
  22. Happy to be the first to start a feedback thread for Joshua, who bought an amp off me. All good!
  23. On request, a pic of the dual truss rod nuts (which work fine, I had to slacken them for the TI flats) and the rout for the added neck pickup
