1. Getting no interest and I think I will try the alternative tack of buying a trolley to wheel this along on.
2. Just bought an EA amp from Tom. All good
3. Originals. A mix of folk, flamenco, country and blues, so not too many covers opportunities there then!!!!
4. Good stuff John! Bit like a retro mash-up of Kinks, Small Faces and the Specials. Bet it goes down really well live PS, is that the new blue P bass on the recording?
5. Link doesn't work for me John?
6. Hi Chris, I'm surprised your AI rig hasn't gone yet as its superb value. Market really is dead other than trades, isn't it?
7. Sorry but I don't really do arco and I have a bow already in any case
8. Waited more than 36 hours this time. I can't help but conform
9. Bump, note price reduction and trade option ^^^^^
10. I'm 49 and have way too much gear for my needs (see my sig) - I can find a use for most of it but the reality is its a GAS-induced luxury. I would actually be perfectly happy with one Precision (it would have to be my '63 though), one double bass (probably my Kolstein as the chunky neck on my old German flatback is a bit hard on my left hand), and one amp rig (probably my Acoustic Image combo and my incoming Crazy8 cab). That would free up a lot of cash but until I feel the financial need to do so, i am going to hang on in there and enjoy all my gear. There will though come a point where I make a similar decision Lozz.
11. I didn't measure my Kolstein but I assume its very similar to bassace's (and much more comfortable/relaxing for my left hand than my mega-beefy flatback)
12. My German flatback: 6 & 1/3 inches I have to say I do find it a bit of a handful and quite hard work if I play repetitive pieces involving hand stretches in the lower registers
13. 35 hour bump. What a rebel
14. Hi John, here is the manual which should give you all the spec answers: http://www.acousticimg.com/docs/manual_combo.pdf I have the 'modern' bigger brother combo the Ten2. I can tell you it works very well for acousticguitar (my guitarist had to borrow it at our gig last Friday as there was no PA, while I used my Phil Jones Briefcase for DB). It also works well with electric bass but it is very clean, so if you want warmer tones you will need to stick some sort of pedal in front (Sansamp, Behringer BDDI, RedDragon, Catlinbread etc). Doesn't go stadium rock loud but it doesn't sound like thats what you are after anyway.
15.
The '63 gets my vote for looks and also because it's my year of birth. I want it.
+1 in all respects from another '63 baby
16. Actually I am going to cut the price to £189 posted, thats 35% off best UK price. Alternatively would trade for Plat Pro plus £90 my way
17. don't know what you mean Sean?
18. I often get the wordless, smile-blankly-and-look-straight-past-you-as-you-are-just-the-bass-player-while-seeking-out-guitarist-or-hot-lady-singers treatment ...
19. I would also trade for a Plat Pro plus cash as my guitarist really likes his acoustic guitar through my existing Plat Pro and has asked if he can buy it off me
20. Hi all, these veritable Swiss Army penknives for the acoustic musician (double bass, guitar, mandolin etc) include uber-sophisticated tone shaping options, phase reversal, high-pass filter, mute, volume boost, onboard (highly visible) tuner, and DI. Cheapest in UK is £289 at GuitarGuitar http://www.guitargui...=11121515560727. I am selling as I prefer the simplicity of the slider controls and less sophisticated EQ options of my Plat Pro How about [s]£199[/s] £189 posted. Thats a bargain for something in 9.5/10, virtually indistinguishable from new condition (lives in a hard case) and only a few months old.
21. blah
22. I imported this fantastic 2x10" from the US a few months ago at a cost of just over £600 (including taxes/shipping) and its never left my house. Although these are quite superb hi-fi cabs - perfectly suited to studio use and double basses - I put this up for sale briefly a month or so ago as I did not think I could cope with the weight (50 pounds; I have a dodgy back!) I then withdrew it on reflection as it sounds so good. Well ... I had to move the cab in my house yesterday from one room to another and realised why I had put it up for sale in the first place!!! So back (haha) up it goes Looks just like this but in completely mint, unmolested condition (also comes with soft cover): Specs here: http://www.acmebass.com/ I am looking for £500 posted or £475 collected (I am nr Hammersmith, West London). Alternatively I would trade against a lightweight cab plus/minus cash adjustment (EA or Barefaced) or a lightweight DB-friendly combo - must be less than 30 pounds for my back's sake!
23. Well there's no hope for me then - I've just ordered a Crazy8 from Mike Arnopol in the US, the highly lauded 1x8" speaker that all the double bassists on TalkBass seem to be raving about!
24. There's a WT550 for sale on BC at a bargain £400 ono, from South East too so you could check it out
25. Brush up on your Chas n Dave impersonations at a low price!
