  2. It sure looks nice! I had a 50's Classic many years ago, and found that bas really stiff and "unfriendly". It had very "stifling and sluggish" tuning machines. How does this one work? I believe they are sold without chrome covers; if so: good! Playing with the covers on is like driving a car in the garage... Nice bass!!!
  3. In what way does it differ from the production model? (IF it differs, that is...)
  4. Message sent! I cannot always use these babies: Super Bassman on top of 810 Neo, and Bassman 100T on my "Fenderized" H&K 810 cab. I want a small cab for my 100T.
  5. Pity you are there and I'm in Sweden... Exactly what I am looking for.
  6. I'd better eat my hat... I show them sequenced...
  7. Talk is talk... I said: "If I were..." but I ain't. My back would kill me. I have no room with high ceiling either. Let's see... - Bassman 810 Neo - Hughes & Kettner QS 810 Pro - 2 x TKS 2126 - AccuGroove Tri 112L - Acoustic Image combo - Fender Bassman 100T - Fender Super Bassman - Vanderkley Spartan I forgot my birdcage Monique, she adds some 8" too...
  8. If I were to stack my cabs I'd have a 14' 8" stack. Without amps. Add some 2' 1" for the amps, and another 15" for the combo... That makes 18'... or something...
  9. I wish they'd shortened the lower (or: only) horn a bit. It looks a bit... "phallic". Not that symmetrical to the rest of the body. Otherwise okay.
  10. Dingwall announced that the D-Bird will be discontinued. You can only guess why... Here you see the discontinued D-Bird and the follower D-Roc...
  11. After some more serious testing and tweaking I've come to following conclusion: Monique excels in certain aspects. When it comes to note and string separation, she is outstanding. When playing chords with four or five notes you can clearly hear every note ring without any compromising and interference from other notes. Pure harmony!!! The all tube layout also allows a nice natural compression to the sound. For traditional playing I'd say you eliminate the need of a compressor, if your technique is good. Also, it is impossible to get a bad tone out of Monique, due to the function of the EQ. Personally I like boosting the High and Mid to threee o'clock, and leave the Low at noon. That brings out clarity without shrillness. On my Bassman amps - very good amps, btw - you CAN tweak some really nasty tones if you want, but also very nice and blossoming. But - the definition and separation isn't there in the same way. The Spartan is clean too, a really nice sounding amp, but lacks the wooliness and sweetness you find in the tone of Monique...
  12. Monique is like the crown on the king...
  13. Well, I sold some expensive stuff, so it is a "zero-sum game", more or less. I am a sole proprietor when playing bass, so if I don't put my musical income back into my "firm" I have to give it to the tax authorities. Better having no profit at the end of the fiscal year. I don't live off playing bass, it just adds a golden edge to the existense...
  14. Jule Amps Monique tube preamp inte Vanderkley Spartan with two Hypex power amp modules, 2 x 800 W RMS in 4 ohms, then into an AccuGroove Tri112L... I haven't tried with my big TKS 2126 cabs, but I doubt it'll be worse...
  15. Totally overkill in the rehearsal room! Li'l bro comes home with me...
  16. Buy one or both; I've got an ad for each bass. Get both with a slight discount...
  17. Buy one or both; I've got an ad for each bass. Get both with a slight discount...
  18. Be sure of that.
  19. The new big blues/rock rig: Fender Super Bassman with Fender Bassman 810 Neo cab, supercharged with my new Payson Supercharger PJ... I can't wait to get it out into open air soon enough...
  20. Home in the "bassment" now; with the new partner in "crhyme", Payson Supercharger PJ... Compared to the 100T, this setup is way cleaner at higher level. Otherwise same, same...
  21. My Fender Bassman 100T with its "home cooked" cabinet is getting a big brother this weekend. The Super Bassman with 810 cabinet moves in. Why have one when there can be two...? It is strange; the 100T is more than enough live on stage, but in the rehearsal room it is kind of too small...
