This can be an issue, but a lot of the time it isn't. Most speakers can't reproduce those frequencies anyway, and those that can will only produce a very small amount of them. What you're hearing is harmonics sometimes a couple of octaves higher. You'll find that you'll be able to turn the amp up louder without hitting its limits, and saving the speakers!
+1 my 6 string has a low E, ie an octave below a normal bass, i have no idea what hz that is but its below the cut off but you can still hear and feel it, plus having the thumpinator there at the end makes me alot more comfortable using the crazy octaves that i have and not worrying about super lows. on the meat box front which i have thought about i think id work it in with a di before the thump, so i could send the dirty to the pa and clean using the new trs out to carry on in the rest of the board Andy

hi all hope everyone had a wicked NYE! and indeed festive period! just wondering if anyone like me who throughout the year has amassed a lot of new pedals, do you have a fave? for me the winner this year even tho its crazy, and not the most usable well until a project starts soon, the Cicada fuzz by Fuzzrocious great fuzz and add in the trem and gate and its a winner! https://www.youtube....h?v=CVC_U53DG7o very close second and third receptively The Redwitch "Zeus" and Lateral Sound "Spore" haha would you look at that there all fuzzes!
Cheers for the update Andy, Mine sounded nothing like your demo there. It just either did massive fizz or no gain at all and the sputter knob didn't work. The fizz was not just bass sound being a bit too treble focused; it was a high pitch nasty noise that made it sound like a dying trannie amp. After listening to your video I would be tempted to try one again.
Well worth it mate! Andy
Great demo! How did you order that spec? First red grey stache I've seen, red isn't listed as an option for colours.
Thanks man Tbh honest I just said for Ryan to do what he wanted as long as it was colourful.
Dead jealous, I really want a grey stache! Congrats though
they do sound very nice! ;-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTxnXIo2UPg Andy
You cannot copyright a schematic, only layout of the PCB. I could release a B3K 100% schem clone tomorrow and I would have no legal questions to answer if I'd redesigned the PCB layout. Si
So can we close this thread now? -
love mine! ive got the kiogon tone circuit which lets me have separate tone controls for each pickup! which opens the bass up to so many sounds. Also have thrown a set of Nordstrand pickups in it seriously nice sounding bass now! i play it over my Modulus! Andy
You have seen the pictures, right? I don't know of any former tube screamer employees going off to build their own version of pedals with practically identical circuits (in both components, style and layout) and enclosures, no.
I've seen then, and yeh there close but they aren't the same. -
Circuit board comparisons up on Talkbass. Interested to hear Spencer's 'explanation' as to why the circuit boards are near identical too, bar a few value changes and a small section in the middle which one presumes is this 'second drive circuit'. http://www.talkbass.com/threads/pike-amplification-vulcan-od-3-leaf-audio-new-company.1190555/page-15#post-18135447
So they are different? Could you or look in any tubescreamer clone and see a similar board? -
So after the gruelling wait! my order from Ryan at Fuzzrocious arrived today! Got myself a reissued "Tremorslo" and a "Grey Stache" The Tremorslo is a two speed tremolo which you can switch speed by hitting the left footswitch, the Grey Stache is a sovtek based fuzz, i got it with the diode mod so i can pick which i prefer similar to on the Rat tail, also got this one with the kill switch for some fun! can't wait to plug these in and get them on the board! Played it in a band setting last week (late update as ive been in iceland) big doomy really heavy fuzz! cuts really well for me, even with the blend almost all fuzz. andy

im thinking of grabbing another and throwing some mods at it! Andy
Quite like that...it's not going to work in most bands/songs I guess but something Muse-like would be a great setting for it.
Yeh it's a bit out there but has a use for sure
Nice job! That T-16 looks so tempting, but I just can't decide if it's that or the T-65. Some say the T-16 is even slightly better sound wise but I think I'd like the added functionality of the bigger pedal.
For me they sound the same, just comes down to if you want the loop and the dirty octave up
you should spend some of your pedals budget on more tinsel for that tree mate nice board - how is the tentacle working out??
haha no need we have a cat so no tinsel. the tentacle is wicked, really happy with it, really brings the fuzz's that little bit more bit (not that they need it) and the bottom end doesnt disappear. well worth a try, does need an isolated power supply tho. was a volume cut when i ran it straight for my gigrig distributor. so not 100% how it would be for people with daisy chains etc. Andy -
You're not wrong, lad.
its pretty out there, used it at practice last night using the eqd tentacle octave up after it and then in to my strymon delay and it sounded huge, obviously you have to play high up the neck but sounded wicked. Moog Cluster Flux ( I've added a video!)
0175westwood29 replied to 0175westwood29's topic in Effects
Jeez. I'm getting blamed for everything!!!! Seriously though, the Cluster Flux is legendary. Easily the greatest sounding chorus I've had my hands on, and one of the best flangers. The scope of other worldly noises you can get from it is mind blowing. It does very convincing whale noises, and some epic 'time slowing down pitch dive bombs'. Damn it's a great pedal. Truly epic. My fav fooger after the LPF.
yeh its great, going nowhere! although im interested in trying the minifooger chorus and flanger, as they should be in theory the same! Andy -
