1. have to admit super interested in this maybe as a little board that can be setup to give me a alot of the sounds of my big board bar the fuzz and more unique pedals i have. also could add it to main set up and control it using the es8 Andy
  2.
Personally, I never make a decision on a pedal without hearing it at full volume at band practice. As you say - some pedals sound great at home but disappear in the mix when used in the real world (out of the bedroom!). Equally, my rat-based distortion sounds killer at full volume, pushing the tubes on my rig, but underwhelming through my little solid state practice amp at home. Most importantly, from my experience at least, I think you need to build your pedalboard around a consistent setup (i.e. same type of bass, same amp and cab), as just changing the bass, or the amp, or the cab, is enough to dramatically change how a pedal sounds, and your opinion on it. Never ceases to amaze me how using somebody else's cab at a gig (but my bass, head, etc) can make such a change to how my pedals (dirt, especially) sound. I HATE all of my dirt pedals through cabs with 8 or 10 inch speakers, and don't really care for 15's. Has to be 4x12!
both points! always like to make a point of trying pedals at full volume! modulation and delay are ok but drives for sure are a volume thing! and this is why a standard rig is good for me its all about 10's i can get my board working thru a 410 however i love an 810! i however havent used a 412 cab so i do really wanna do that! also my rig is ashdown aswell so some would say its darker than normal so with a diff setup im guessing my sound would be really bright!
  3.
True, and I can't expect everyone to agree with me just because I think an effect or combination of effects sounds good. Blue
I'm lucky my bands trust me with sounds but yeh someone might be like maybe try this instead or do you have something that sounds like this
  4.
I also like to run my pedal decisions by the other band members. Blue
This is useful as if say both me and the guitar want to use chorus it could be a bit much so I'll back of
  5. So having a big board I'm always changing setting to get things sounding at there best mainly delays, verbs or modulation drive stuff is normally pretty simple to sort. For me if I'm gonna use a second guitar with a lower output say I'll have a way of boosting that sorted out so everything matches at least with volume it will sound different it's a different bass. Using the pedals tho I'll have worked out what I wanna use ( I have a switcher boss es8) in presets but I'm all for on the fly adding an effect if I'm feeling it might be cool! But I never use a pedal just to say I used it.
  6. Little video I did to show the a few sounds https://youtu.be/lInofM0hrxc
  7. Properly love the Earthquaker devices pitchbay right now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayyeCIh3dSI
  8.
On a pedal like this I definitely prefer the separate clean and fuzz volume knobs to a blend plus output level like you see on some others. This one still sounds like an obviously blended signal with the clean up high, but most blended fuzz are like that, I think? Price is certainly good.
its a very cool and great sounding for the money! they've also done well to make this blend set up not be like the mxr version where the dry and dirty sounds sound very separate these gel very well! also the lights on the dials are pretty dam cool!

hate to say it but im thinking its probs down to poor parts of the harley benton, both the ditto and boss have handled me doing full jams with my full board going into them. no problem at all maybe try and grab one of those second hand there not much monies Andy
  10.
Thanks for that Gear News piece. I hadn't spotted it yet. A couple of videos with it in use here from Danny Sapko (who deserves a subscribe on his youtube channel). and
cool reviews! still loving the fuzz man! its super smooth!
  11. Full length demo showing what this little box can do! https://youtu.be/ayyeCIh3dSI
  12.
I'm just watching the Arpanoid video. That looks like an awesome pedal. I'm looking forward to one of your demo videos... EDIT: and the Transmisser! I now have expensive pedal GAS. Thanks!
No trouble! ;-) Hopefully should be recording some demos for these on sat so won't be to long before my demos are up hopefully Love the Arpanoid it and a delay/ reverb can create sound pads on there own!
  13. great looper but i need to change up my looping set up so i can loop into three things. can get some pictures if needed but this is only used in the studio for looping a signal for demos no velcro and in very good condition no box and price includes postage. Andy
  14. so excited to get these on my board and have a play!
  15.
Out of interest does it work at all without the humdinger thing in the chain?
It does however there's no way in the es8 to reverse the phase if it's out. Probs the only issue with the es8 tbh!
  16. The darkglass alpha omega sounds great!! https://youtu.be/5ueyeeapxSU
  17.
What's wrong with just giving the FOH 2 feeds and let them do the mixing?
tbh its for ease, and speed of set up, i can give one feed with all i need in the pa, saves a big long conversation explaining to the sound guy!
  18.
I'm sure I've seen a DI from Radial that has a "merge" function to sum two mono signals?
I'll check that out
  19.
Behringer Ultra DI I'll bet, the silver coloured one. They suck pretty bad, you lose a lot of clarity in your sound with those. Its probably the frequencies that they cut that caused the clipping
got it in one mate! actually affected how i played and used effects.
  20. ok so my current setup will be going live soon! i have a two amp dual mono rig one is clean one gets all my effects. looking for a rackmount unit ideally that can take the two di signals and give me one di out that i can send to the foh. any ideas?
  21.
I sort of agree with this, however it's not necessarily due to laziness. He's probably had bad experiences with really hot signals clipping and even overloading the desk. An unprocessed signal from a bass can throw out some pretty nasty spikes even at low levels. I played an all dayer at the weekend where many bassists DI'd and the results were mixed depending on if they had pedals or whether their basses were active/passive. I naturally took my full rig and had the best sound of the night
see now at the risk of sounding snobby, if im using a di i should know how to use it. i like to take a few minutes to find the sound guy and explain my rig, ie i have two di's from my heads and a third for my sub which i dnt need to use if its a problem, and i use distortion alot of distortion. ive actually been told to use a crappy (Behringer) di on a out door gig last year instead of my amps Di he said it sounded bad and was clipping, later then got told by a friend doing sound he never adjusted a thing between di's so in that situation he made the di sound bad, when i have that happen kinda bums me out a little bit. Andy
  22. https://youtu.be/5ueyeeapxSU Full ao demo
  23. Ok so actual demo video on my channel goes up tomoz morning 8am (ill post a link here) but was having fun combining the AO with other pedals on my board. love it and am actively having to tell myself to turn it of and not just use it all the time! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lInofM0hrxc&feature=youtu.be
  24. None total rubbish, tbh just means he's to lazy as he might have to re eq for the new di
