1. So recently got the ABM 500 so began thinking of ways to split the rig! ended up being alot easier than i thought! remembered i had a gigrig synco synco 5 way patch bay and also a gigrig humdinger which has a phase switch and an isolated out so combined those with the es8 and clean dirty setup is go! all my effects go into the ctm-100 and the abm is just clean, pushing the compression up on the amp and a bit of pre amp grind from the valve. both heads go into my 810 which ive split so now is two 8 ohm 410's with a custom lead ill get made up so i can use both cabs with one head.
 2. Finally got the dual rig going last night!
 3.
John Stockman Goliath playthrough with Alpha/Omega:
Super excited for this now! Took them long enough to get John to play it!
 4.
Shan't be using Andertons again! Pre-ordered weeks ago and they still don't have initial stock.
in fairness mate they cant help it if they are further back in the order than some ppl. just makes me more excited to get it! i can wait another week or two. Andy
 5.
Congrats, as a pretty recent convert to Ashdown I`m loving my ABM rig.
Can't wait till next week to plug them in together!
 6. think this alongside my Ctm-100 should sound pretty nice!
 7. lets bump this back to the top and also say im open to trades aswell!

 9.
I can't really hear much of a difference there. I would think that any difference would be inaudible as soon as other instruments kicked in. Thanks for the vid!
totally agree, close mic'd like this you might hear something but in a live context i actually think the cog octaves, even the oc-3 dare i say sound not to far away. love the Oc2 Octave i have and its a keeper but for live use it would take something special to take the T70 of.
 10. I've seen a lot of players using the octaves recently so wondered if there is a big difference between them but what do you guys think? Was able to borrow a octaver of a fellow bassist for this demo. https://youtu.be/eveBwMRqq2s
 11. Gotta say these two are both great choices! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hO0OD7XpQAU
 12.
I'm sometimes surprised by Scott Devine and Janek Gwizdala's use of "clickbait" in their video titles. Both are highly knowledgable, articulate, talented people with much to offer bass students, but this seems at odds with the rather cheap methods they employ to attract attention to their videos. I realise they are business men with a product to promote in a competitive market place, but it feels a bit cringeworthy and populist. Some examples: Devine: Ultimate hack for learning and using the modes (does he mean "method"?) How to play bass fast. 5 ultimate tips Master the entire fingerboard with these 5 simple shapes Gwizdala: A street dog that will melt your heart Practicing (sic) with the TV on. Good or bad? Taking divorce one day at a time (A video with much useful info about bass and music and a brief, sensitive discussion about the end of Janek's relationship - why did he give it this title?) Gwizdala also seems particularly fond of filming himself constructing and even shopping for, flat-pack furniture. Please note: I am not criticising or complaining, just stating my personal reaction and hopefully prompting some discussion. It doesn't really matter anyway!
Yaneks posts are mostly bass related but rem its vlog, so it follows him on what he does during the day. i dnt wanna see him practice everyday
 13. Anyone on here go yesterday? Was a properly cool day trip to Birmingham for me, and getting to see Juan and nick was super inspiring. 14.
The Cali comes up a lot. One to look at. What about a SuperSymetry? Any recommendations for this style of playing with notes driven from the left hand and as a consequence, a volume discrepancy between hammer-ons and pull-offs and strong/weak fingers? (I know my technique should be better - don't judge me.)
Not played the dg but from videos it's more transparent than the Cali, I like what it does to the sound but some dnt. No judging here, like I said that's a compressors job to level bring down the spikes and raise up the lower notes, the dg and Cali both have blend controls so you can also keep the dynamics of your playing
 15.
Do you have Sky? Consider cancelling that for 9 months and taking out the interest free finance at Andertons. Puts into context how much money we can waste on stuff that matters so much less, doesn't it!
ok so you got me thinking! about finance mainly ive got a shocking record due to issues with a employer last year so it gets turned down alot, however andertons :-) i can totally afford 30 quid a month for a few months no trouble so A/O is on the way as soon as andertons get them in stock!
Nope no sky, and a baby on the way so would have to sell some stuff we will see but not unhappy with my drive and dirt sounds ATM so in no rush
 17.
ah, I gave in an preordered weeks ago, obviously.
id love to try one for sure just not sure i wanna sell stuff to free up the cash andy
 18. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLcqfTWlsyo ok the pedal does sound very nice as expected, still a bit pricey for me tho but hey gotta pay for the laser etching somehow!
 19. A Compressor is your friend, will bring everything together, loud notes down quiet notes up. if you get a booster you will just make everything louder rather than the quiet notes. i use a cali 76 bc from origin but this is a comp that colours the sound, something like a boss cs3 or lmb-3 are cool for a cheap and simple solution and they both sound good.
 20. that five string jabba! and i really really want a chowny bass now!
 21.
2018 BASH NEWS - HALL BOOKED FOR SUNDAY APRIL 8th!! OK, so it WAS hard work - but it was just TOO MUCH FUN We'll be working on making next year's event even better, so watch this space!
