1.
Adding in the Radial DI box to introduce an effects look into the signal path looks like a pretty over-engineered solution given that a slight re-ordering of your existing pedals and leads seems to solve the problem. Go from… Bass-> Korg Pitchblack-> Sansamp VTDI-> MXR Phase 90 -> Corona Mini To… Bass-> Korg Pitchblack-> MXR Phase 90 -> Corona Mini -> Sansamp VTDI. Then use the VTDI XLR output to take the signal to the PA. Then use either 1) the parallel out to the amp if you DON’T want the EQ and drive settings on the VTDI to go through the amp or 2) the main jack output of the VTDI if you do. If there is an issue that you prefer to have an overdriven sound going into the modulation effects rather than modulation effects going into the overdrive then your set up would be… Bass-> Korg Pitchblack-> [NEW OVERDRIVE PEDAL TO GENERATE OD TONE]-> MXR Phase 90 -> Corona Mini -> Sansamp VTDI (set up with a low gain to act as an amp/speaker sim rather than an overdrive). Anything more than that seems like over complicating things for no particular reason or benefit.
not introducing an effects loop just a simple way of getting a di signal from the power amp of the jcm so no vtdi needed in the chain.
 2. have a look zander circuitry and lateral sounds, both very affordable and they make great pedals, id have to say the spore from lateral is a great all round pedal can do clean boost, drive, distortion and all out fuzz! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqWNJNOaxuQ the zander stuff sounds huge and again has a lot of sounds, which will fit the doomy sabbath vibe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHmLOv61AcE&t=1s Andy
 3.
Interesting, thanks for the response! The amp has no FX loop! I'll have a look at the Radial box you mentioned.
happy to help man,
 4.
Alright, so I'm having a mess about with my pedals as I want to take my JCM 800 to gigs instead of my Ashdown for a bit and I've ran into a problem. The Marshall has no DI on the back, so I've decided to use my Sansamp for the DI part, now here's my set up so far. Bass-> Korg Pitchblack-> Sansamp VT-> MXR Phase 90 -> Corona Mini That's all well and good, but I'm using the Parallel output on my Sansamp to plug it into my amp and my FX's will be going into the chain after the Sansamp. Will they A) Go through the PA rather than my amplifier (I'm assuming yes) and the output on the Corona has nothing to connect to, as I'm not sure I'll ever need a quarter inch for that, however I still have a cable going into it. Will that mean the pedal will still work?
If there's nothing in the output of the chorus it won't work, those effects won't be in your setup. You have ATM bass-vtdi-amp, then out of the sansamp into your effects but they dnt go to an am or di box, so will never affect the sound, put them in line before the di. For me if you are taking the Jcm for tone I'd want it heard ie mic'd up rather than the more svt sounding di but then that's just me you could put a di box in the effects loop tho to at least get the pre amp, or grab a load box with a di radial do one of these.
 5. Probs safe to say things were getting a tad excessive at the jam last night! should say it is just me and a drummer so i need to make all the none drum sounds! so the board on the stand is a theromin (electro Faustus) going into a synthotron from red witch into a custom 3 oscillator fuzzrocious zuul and Tremorslo. that goes into input 2 of the boss es8 so i can select between bass or theromin! but can also put the theromin through the big board aswell! andy
 6.
Can anyone help recommend any Octave Up pedals that are cheaper than the EHX Micro POG?
what is it that you want to achieve sound wise? as a dirty octave up i love the tentacle from eqd, but if you want clean and really good tracking then i used to have the ehx pitchfork which i think is cheaper than the pog and has alot more sounds in it. cant say ive tried the tc but with the toneprint thats got a crap tone of sounds available.
 7. This is a tiny little demo showing the combo of these pair! It's not a useable sound for everyone but it is for me :-) https://youtu.be/1Llact3UGjY
 8. not using this and its two good not to! http://www.zandercircuitry.co.uk/product/sono-bass-distorter/ can get you a pic no problem but its brand new! only used in a demo on my youtube channel but dnt have room to get it on the board. Andy
 9.
I've been looking at one of these too - cheers for the post!
no problem its well worth grabbing even just for the modulation
 10. So had this for a while so figured I should do a demo The fuzz is actually really good and having the eq switch for flat, full or scooped sounds And the modulation stuff is great https://youtu.be/gla1bAOW9oE
 11.
Compressor at the begin of the chain, looper at the end. Everything in-between - just try it and use what sounds the best for you.
see now i like my comp after everything! also discovered the win thats reverb pre drive!
 12.
I use the Bass Whammy after my Sub Phatty to do this kind of thing, and it works great! Definitely octave pedals BEFORE the Whammy. I find the Whammy doesn't sound cheesy at all if it's fed more of a gritty signal. You may have been given that impression by all the guys on YouTube, doing w***y slap on a Warwick through the octave up setting?
Yep totally agree! They sound great vexing feed with a slightly beefer tone
 13. So have a new demo up on the channel of the T. rex Quint machine octave, pretty cool poly octave with a fifth up aswell as down and up octaves. https://youtu.be/10_XY13iAvo
 14.
Hey fellas Looking good...hope it all goes well.. Suggestion?? - Any photographers in the fold?...the photo booth we have at the Herts Bash is always well received with attendees being able to get some quality photos taken with their gear. For a couple of quid donation to your charity of choice??
I'll have my camera as I'm probs thinking this could be kinda cool for my YouTube channel so I'm happy to get a few pics of the day and gear
 15. If your after something high gain and quite raspy/aggressive sounding maybe look in to a rat based pedal I love my fuzzrocious cat tail, but we are all different https://youtu.be/B0sBYF22gMs Also you could look at the lateral sounds Spore, a lot of sounds in there and it's made in Blighty! https://youtu.be/bqWNJNOaxuQ Sorry for the blatant YouTube channel add!
 16. Ok so im sure alot of you have heard of the Oc-2 but figured this was well worth making! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zCSdYOJybo&t=51s also ive kindly been lent an original Oc-2 Octaver so will also get a little sound clip of that one up in the next few weeks. for me playing in the room the Cog sounds super close to the Oc-2! what do you think!?
 17.
Yeah man, bring the monster board! Also I'd like to pick your brains about pitch shifting stuff? Norm
cool man! ill bring the full shabang! and will totally allow picking of my brain for pedals etc. also for the list unless they sell ill also bring my Way Huge fat sandwich and boss Oc-3 octave im selling
 18.
I think the zoom actually takes 300ma, and the battery is 6600 maH, so in theory it should be 22 hours. With the helicon and smoothhound it should be still at least 8 hours, we set up at 8, finished at 1, should be more than enough time. I think I need to work out what the actual consumption is
i would as im thinking thats the issue as it, or just grab a second if your really after having no leads and have one for each pedal. probs easier tbh tho to grab a decent power supply as would overall cost about the same.
 19.
It also died completely after a couple of hours into the set, so I don't think it is up to the job. Don't know if I can send it back now though as it is obviously used. I think I will stick with the mains!
with the zoom drawing 500 ma im guessing its the draw that reduced the overall time it worked for not that the product is bad, i think for a board of analogue low ma stuff it would be fine but im guessing the helicon draws quite a lot aswell.
 20. hey guys! well an hour is easy for me to bring some stuff! i can easily bring my stupidly big pedal board! with lots of cool stuff on! and my Squier vm jazzV with Nordstrand pickups aswell as my 6 string Esp. now amp wise ive got my ashdown ctm-100/810 rig only prob there is bringing my 810 but if people fancy trying that rig then im happy to bring it? Andy
 21. Could be they mean separate not isolated, or it's not done very well.
 22. i had to find and grab an older pedal train pro to get a case with the wheels.
