1. The 410obc is a awesome, and is i would say slightly better quality than the 410hlf how ever the ampeg does sound good with orange, for some reason they go together very well, so personally id look at one of those. However never trying a barefaced i have no idea but im sure some one will be along soon to say how light they are. Andy
2. heres a link to itunes as not got any videos up yet, as i said above this my bass is from a mic in front of the cab no di mixed in, so you can hear how i sound need to listen through head phones. https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/nex-ratio-ep/id833521708 andy
3. love my 810, yeh its not the smallest but also love how it makes the terror look tiny lol andy
4. heres a video i made for lateral sounds, its not much but theres links the rest of the ep which was recorded using it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jdTG7XHTX0 andy
5. hi guys hope this is ok, my band " Six Sins till Sunday's" new ep is out. no videos out yet with teasers, so i hope its ok to post a link to i tunes where peeps can demo the tracks the ep is called "nex ratio" and has three new tracks plus 2 reworked tracks from our self titled first ep. https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/nex-ratio-ep/id833521708 the new tracks are the first three. andy
6.
Like this then. Note that a) I have left the original wiring as dotted outlines b ) I did this one on an iPad in an app I have had 3 years and hadn't used before c) I added colour d) its a bit better than the last one! e) I wouldn't wire a bass like this, makes it too unpredictable
cheers man yeh might just stick to the first diagram, nice idea but as you say not really practical andy
7. Cool its the jazz in my sig Ah cool so doing that would put everthing to 10, i have one more could i have the tone active? Dnt mind putting another switch in for that. So ill have all the pickups on full and the tone or both pickups on full with tone control that i can use, or have control of the pickup but have a dimed tone control?
8. does anyone have any idea where i could find drawings for this?
9. im with sibob on this one, stacking different pedals gets a very cool effect, some work really well together some not so but thats the joy of experimenting which is why i love pedals! currently in love with my lateral sounds "root" but ill also turn on my mesa flux drive to give it a bit more gain or darker sound to work with. ive also had a ls-2 before with pedals in each loop with made mixing the 2 sounds alot more manageable was kinda like using two amps? andy
10. worked well when ive borrowed our guitarists its basically a polytune andy
11.
Sounds good as long as you like distortion. Interested to find out if it does loud and clean too.
The distortion is completely separate from the eq side of the amp so i will be 1000w clean amp if needed just dnt turn on the gain side
12. Helms alee http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=voNghRkt5k8 tool, the new periphery album and my bands recently recorded ep! andy
13.
Well Edens certainly have some lows, I had a Nemesis 410 and it was a great cab. I think the low frequencies are much lower than that of Ashdowns. It could be that the Ashdown had issues, as having also had an OTB, I could never get a tinny sound from it - not that I wanted to mind - just a thick warm slightly gainy (and very loud) sound.
lozz is right, just had a look the eden 410 goes down to 48hz and depending what ashdown it was the abm goes to 70hz and the mag interestingly goes to 60hz. andy
14. i would say it could be the cab, but as has been sad 12 o clock isnt flat, ive found sticking a eq pedal infront or in the effects loop gives these amps alot more eq options i have a rack eq works really well. andy
15. used this in the studio today! holy crap! such a brutal distortion getting the mastered tracks tomoz afternoon so will be able hopefully to post a link up for people to hear. andy
16. we've got a cupboard in our rehearsal space so i store my stuff in there bar my basses as it gets cold so dnt want the neck moving. i am happy to leave it there, have left my cab in the studio space aswell but we know the engineer and he would never use it. andy
17. it'll probs be an ashdown overdrive pedal combined with a valve head, although i think he also uses the rack sansamp. andy
18. ive recorded a few sections as demos using garageband, got a very nice bass sound, i think i used the orange amp sim with a comp sounded very nice andy
19. New pedalboard at long last, my old boss thing lost its lid about 2 years ago so its nice to be able to close this one, only missing the cog effects custom
20.
Agree Unless you like the sound of farts
ill admit, the octave side of the pedal isnt that useable but with my rack eq cutting the extreme lows it does give a rumble, but just recorded yesterday and it sounded brutal when the right hand dial is dimed (so pretty much all fuzz with a hint of the octave) had it after my mesa flux drive so was getting fed a dirty overdrive tone, used it to beef up certain parts. very impressed seeing as i tune to d standard and bought it on a whim. andy
21.
it won't be the same as turning everything up to 10 as it will effect the pickup loading too (i.e. the pots still have an effect fully open) I can't think of the name at the moment but you'll want a switch that switches it across at both the input and output(jack) points. the next question you'll ask is about the second switch for having the pups in series or parallel....
oh no nothing fancy like that lol, im actually seeing a tech tomoz so i think i might ask him if he has any ideas
22. have a squier vm 5 string bass, love it but looking to change a bit of the electrics to make my life a tad easier. does anyone know how i could wire this in, basically looking to add a small switch that will disable the volume pots and just put the pickups straight to the output so basically the same as turning everything up to 10. andy
23. my squier vm string is awesome however have upgraded the input to a better quality one and when he was doing it noticed the pots although they work fine are pretty cheap Chinese pots, so is there any bonuses to changing the pots? could i maybe put in a larger or smaller value tone pot for a bigger sweep? also have thought that at the same time i may put in a switch to put everything on 10 straight to the output as flicking a switch is easier than changing turning three knobs on my jazz. andy
24. for me its strange seeing how other people play the songs, i wrote a few songs in a punk band and the new bassist plays them totally different so the songs sounded a bit weird at first andy
25. oh yes! recorded lovely kickdrum mic in no di sounded beasty, getting mixed at the minute but sounded really nice. andy
