1.
My only suggestion would be to look at 'sports' ones, that clip around the ear and stay in place, like these... Sony MDR-AS210 Sports In-Ear Splashproof Headphones ... Drumming can be quite physical (depending on character and repertoire...), so he'd want 'em to stay in place. I can't think of anything special, otherwise. He sounds like a bit of a cheapskate, really, unless he's simply skint, of course. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the advice, I'll check them out. He's not skint and not a cheapskate really. It's sort of that he's totally unaware of the benefits and needs a push. I'm sure that if he could hear the difference, he would splash out. Hence, budget stuff. He hasn't got a clue about inputs and outputs and wouldn't dare touch a fader!
2. Any ideas about budget ear buds for a drummer? He wont wear phones. I'm going to end up paying so the cheaper the better! I should imagine that they will mainly be for vocals. We're using a digital desk and he will be hard wired. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
3. Only sold mine as I found that with PA support, I didn't need such a wonderful setup and bought an Ashdown MiBass 400w 1x10 combo. It does everything I need it to do and more but still hanker for my Midget and Compact back!
4.
Is the neck a standard F size? If so I may just take it off your hands.
42.5mm (according to spec sheet) at the nut and 63-64mm at the heel. I'd go for 63mm at the heel though. The eyes aren't what they were! ☺
5.
Pretty much. And to double as pa in another project I do.
Much to my dismay, I have an unused pair of FR800's gathering dust due to being unable to get 5 people in the same place at the same time!
6. Bump
7. Bought a Soundcraft desk from Andy. It arrived safe, proto and as described. Nice guy to deal with. Have no fear! Thanks again Andy. Cheers Dunc
8. Not been used in a while and gathering dust. We just used it for mics in rehearsals. The metal casing of the power connector has snapped but the wiring is still fine. It should tape together and not be a problem. May need a bit of a clean and some switch cleaner. Otherwise, a nice compact and portable desk. Plus £6.00 postage to mainland UK. Collection from Blackburn, Lancs.
9.
Is it ok with bass at bedroom volumes?
Hi, to be honest I've never tried it with bass but folk have in the Line6 forum and have had success at bedroom levels. http://line6.com/support/topic/6281-using-amplifi-with-bass/ http://line6.com/support/topic/19259-amplifi-75-with-bass-guitar/
10. Not usung this and so it's just gathering dust. Gigged condition and so don't expect new. Couple of scratches on LED screen but still can be read with no issue. No power supply but runs off battery or a standard 9v supply. Postage at cost to mainland UK.
11. A mate of mine has a studio in a Belgium and always seems to be well informed on Waves stuff. I'll ask him tomorrow if he has any input. He works closely with a producer from Brighton who probably gives him the insight. I'm impressed!
12. +1. Sound separation sounds pretty good to me. I'll be checking the software out myself!
13.
Cheers; it was worth a try. Thanks, and good luck with the sale; they're top-notch subs. (Sniffs, pulls out another hanky, trumpets loudly into it and wanders, red-eyed, back into the undergrowth, heavy-hearted...)
Get a quote (if seller is willing) from wedelivertheworld.co.uk About 12 months ago I sent an ampeg 2x10 to France and it cost about £16. Amazing prices.
14. Post updated, may part out. Sorry not had chance to weigh it yet...
15.
I'm extremely tempted myself. This is mine The pickguard is off the Tony Butler model. I managed to order one from JHS through a friend in the trade. It's the nicest playing P-bass I've owned
I'm a sucker for white P basses. Especially with maple boards. I think I'd keep that! Lovely thing
16.
Let me be the first to ask: "What's the weight?" Ooooh, me poor back!
It may well have sold but a guesstimate would be 9lb. I'll, check later.
17.
Glad it's not the white one or I'd be on the M1 right now! This is a very serious bargain folks, these are great basses.
Thanks for the +1. Slightly naff, night time pics up!
18. Our sadly missed and dear departed friend, producer and engineer Rex Sargeant in the 90's used to steal me Hooky's strings! Still have a few sets somewhere!
19. Having some trouble with the trussrod hex rounding off so may part out if there's enough interest. Please PM with any offers. Black, maple neck with B/W/B plate. Wilkinson pups and hardware. Weight 4.5kg. Has a few faults - both knobs and tone pot are missing. Still works though. Wouldn't bother me as I don't use the tone knob anyway! I did intend to get Ki0gon to make me a loom though. The nut, as on all of these, was too high for most people's liking. It's been filed down but still needs a bit more work or a new nut fitting. Otherwise in nice condition. Will make a nice bass with a bit of work. Trying to fund raise but as always can be tempted with a trade - shallow flight case 6-8u, ipad, powered monitor (mic stand mounted type). Try me... I have no case but could ship to mainland UK with suitable packaging or with the neck off at buyers expense and risk. Arranging your own courier much preferred. Alternatively, collection and test at BB22SH (preferred).
20.
Cheers dunc, Mrs damonjames is more than happy to afford me the space. All my bass gear is in the spare room she uses as an office and is sick of looking at it. Plus, she doesn't have to listen to my "rubbish" music this way 😂
Be careful, you may be unwittingly building yourself a dungeon. Beware of padlocks on the outside!
21. Played last year with a projector. https://youtu.be/qRkSX_WiQbs The venue had a projector but no screen. We hooked up a mac with some footage and projected onto a white sheet. I also project film at home from an old projector onto a white wall using a media hard drive. The latter is really easy to set up, inexpensive and no computer involved.
22. Mrs itsmedunc would take that off me and give it to our dogs! They already rule the rest of the house anyway! Looks like it's coming along nicely though. Rehearsals at home are a great idea. We were using an electric kit and a Jamhub for a while. Worked really well with very little noise. Of course, the lead guitarist couldn't get "his sound" and felt like "a fly in a bottle". Apart from that it was a really good experience. Good luck!
23. Used the TB500 paired with a Barefaced Midget and Compact. They sounded brilliant together. For me the Compact would do that job on its own.
