  1. Looks like a relative of this one on a previous thread. It suffers from similar jiggery pokery.
  2. £290 for Colwyn Bay? Surely, it must be worth double that? 😂
  3. I took the setup rehearsing tonight. Oh, it sounds good 😀 The combo's got all the volume I'll ever need as a standalone but may put an extension on if by chance there's a gig without PA support. I really can't fault the bass either. They will both be going everywhere with me from now on. It's exactly what I've been after for years! The problem now is that I'll need a spare Jazz and I might have to pay as much as £35 for it 😂😂😂😂
  4. Oh, I'm not worrying. Far from it. I've never been one to care what other folk think about my gear. 😀 I'm more interested in what others would do really. If you read many of the posts on BC, I think folk love to pull gear to bits and over analyse it. Everything from patch leads to picks. There always seems to be a certain nuance that makes one item inferior to another. Cost is often a common denominator. I agree with virtually every reply so far and firmly believe that if it sounds good, its good enough whatever the cost!
  5. Come to think of it, I should have done a poll!
  6. I bought Kevvo66's Trace GP7 SMC 112 130w combo today which cost £80 (Great deal. Thanks again Kev!). I originally wanted it to stick in a little studio room at home. Picked it up today and paired it with a Squier Affinity Jazz (from around 2002) that I bought off Gumtree a couple of weeks ago for £30. I've done a bit of recording with this bass as it plays and sounds really well. When paired with the Trace they sound marvellous! Really gutsy and loud. When recording into Logic, I've been using the Jazz with the vintage Ampeg emulation and nailed the sound that I've been looking for, for a long long time. I've now found, I can get the same sound and more with the Trace and this particular Jazz. I'm quite taken aback that after all this time and money, I've got a setup for £110 that I'd definitely take out and gig with (and now intend to do just that). I've used many many basses and rigs over the years and I can't think of any combination that sounded better than this one. On par, different yes but not any better. What a win! Maybe I'm just getting old! 😂😂😂😀
  7. It now resides with me (as from today) and is a tremendous piece of kit. I've been an advocate of lightweight gear but to be honest, it's not that bad and the sound more than makes up for the extra pounds. 😀
  8. I'm gobsmacked by some of the Ashdown deals on here. It's great bass gear too. I know space can be an issue but surely not for everyone selling their stuff on here. I've still got a MiBass 2.0 110 combo and 1x10 extension that I sort of donated as it would have sold for peanuts on here. It now resides in the rehearsal studio that we use as a spare if any bass gear goes down. Better there and used than taking little money for what is in essence, a great little setup.
  9. Just bought Kev's Trace combo. Exactly as described. Well, better than described really. Absolute monster of a rig too. Exactly what I was looking for. Had a meet up and it's always a pleasure to to deal with him face to face. Thanks again Kev. This one's got to be a keeper! Cheers Dunc
  10. May trade. Semi, something medium or short scale. A De Armomd Starfire would be ideal. Try me with any though. I very nearly made the switch to 6 but another project (which is taking up most of my time) has come along that requires 4's only. I've had it about 3 months. It didn't look used when I bought it and it hasn't left the house since. Squier dater website says that it was built in 2015. 3 tone Sunburst. Looks like new, comes with a nice new looking Armourdillo rigid case (with keys). Has a Staytrem bridge fitted (original included) and is strung with rounds. Don't think they are stock strings as they are far better than the ones on the new Vi that I previously owned. I bought it with 2 sets of strings one of which is a set of La Bella flats. I took them off and fitted the rounds. The top E on the La Bella's broke when I took it off. They may go back on ok but I cannot guarantee that they will. I would much prefer collection and trial from BB22SH but you can arrange a courier or I could probably meet up depending on distance.
  11. Great combos. Great price too. 1U rack space if I remember rightly? You must have coshed the overdraft to sell it at that price! GLWTS
  12. Still haven't managed to get shut of him. Have you any Lurchers?
  13. Will you please sell this. All my plans so far have drawn a blank!
  14. I've not played on one for many years. I suppose the ones I did play on would now be considered vintage! I'm sure they make some fine instruments but the ones I played on were akin to a piece of slate baton nailed to a cupboard door. Blummin horrible. I can't remember ever having GAS for a Rick as a result! 😀
  15. I would have paid £450 if you had promised to be my personal roadie for a tenner a night! 😂😂😂😂 Somebody got a real bargain there!
  16. I don't think it will be much bother for me to pick it up for you and stick it in the post if you win. I'd check with the buyer he will accept PayPal etc with personal collection though. Send me a PM if you are interested. 😀 I've got plenty of packaging and rubble bags if needed!
  17. Bowlux Bowlux Bowlux. Always fancied one of these. Bowlux. Ummmm.... Want, need, back....? Ummmmm
  18. I've tried that! 😂😂😂😂 I'm working on a plan. A cunning plan! 😂😂😂😂
  19. If I had some cash, I'd go for it. Bad timing unfortunately. That's not a pun! 😂😂😂😂
  20. My favourite P bass combo, I want it. The Mrs won't have it though. The daughter was born on June 5th 1999 and I was born in 1966. Flip the 6 and hey presto. I think it's an omen but Mrs itsmedunc thinks I'm a prick. Obviously, a mere difference of opinion. 😂😂😂😂
  21. Difficult to tell 100% with all the dirt etc but it looks like the truss rod is accessed at both ends of the neck! If that's true then it's firewood (if it's not already). Another neck on a battered split body. Bridge and tuners might be salvageable but that's about it. The neck plate isn't like the one on mine. This looks like it's cheaply plated where mine looks a solid plate. It looks a bit odd all round really. Wrong pups, if indeed they are pups and not noggins of charred wood! It's only a mile or so from me so I might ask to go and see it, just to see if it's that bad in the flesh. 😂😂😂😂
