  1. In general, I don't like blue basses but this ticks so many boxes that it's becoming an obsession? Fabulous looking thing. Ummmm...
  2. Alesis Sample Pad 4 for sale. Good condition and I have the original box, although that's a bit tatty. https://www.rimmersmusic.co.uk/alesis-sample-pad-4-p25620/s26042?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=alesis-sample-pad-4-sample-pad-4&utm_campaign=product%2Blisting%2Bads&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIt_vv0MPL5AIVRLDtCh3gIwfGEAQYASABEgK1D_D_BwE These units sound great but are known to be noisy on the main outputs (have a Google, it sounds to be a factory grounding issue), they all seem to be like that but the headphone out is fine and so can be used live or at home or live. Reason for sale, it's been replaced with an SPD SX. The stand is not included in the sale. Postage no problem at actual cost or arrange your own insured courier. Feel free to collect from BB22SH.
  3. Sorry, it's now sold
  4. Yes, one single FR800. Thanks
  5. Appreciated 😀
  6. A bit of a bitsa which needs little work to get fully on the road. It all works now but could be better. VM body, neck and tuners, unknown pups (but sound good to me), unknown loom and knobs. Generic high mass bridge with 2 chrome and 2 brass saddles. Wrong bridge screws. The pups and the guard don't match in size and so the pups don't raise as far as they should. I don't really know if it's odd sized pups or the guard. However, a little filing of the pup holes on the guard would rectify this. The loom etc are a mish mash of bits that I've had lying around for years. There's a few light depressions on the body but very difficult to photograph. Single ply black guard. Very light Precision. The lightest I've ever owned, I can't give an exact weight yet as I've mislaid the bathroom scales? Must be around 7 1/2lb if not lighter. Certainly noticeable difference to my JV that weighs 8 1/2lb. To be honest, if you were after a lightweight P body, this one would be worth the money on it's own. I'll also be removing the straplocks and replacing the originals. Will post with the neck off at the buyers cost and risk. Or preferably collect and trial / possible meet depending on distance.
  7. Sennheiser system now SOLD I bought a few IEM systems a while back for the band but nobody has took an interest and so they are up for sale. Sennheiser EW300 IEM system plus receiver £115 SOLD Chord IEM16 UHF plus receiver £70 non original PSU. 2 extra Chord receivers for the IEM16 only opened to test so virtually new. £45 each or £85 the pair. SOLD Pick up from Blackburn BB22SH preferred but will post at buyers cost and risk. Might be able to meet up within reason.
  8. Should the contour body part of the decal not be further up the headstock? Never seen one there? That looks like where it would be on a waterslide decal when it was first bought. Obviously, you would have to move it to the right position though!
  9. Yes. Indeed it is very very fugly. Indeed deformed. It looks like that Kay was designed by someone partially sighted, who whilst cantering along on a horse, briefly saw a Ric through a dirty window in Detroit. He then got really drunk at a strip club and (awaking with with a major hangover) flew back to a small village in Outer Mongolia, where he continued his journey on foot to central China without a stop, whereupon he hurriedly described it (over a crackling landline) to his 7 year old child' who then envisaged the design and compiled a template using cheap crayons as a medium just before bedtime. The template was then faxed to the tw@ who fitted several ill fitting doors at my house to manufacture and assemble the parts. if anyone needs a joiner, feel free to PM me for his number. 😀
  10. It looks like some old Italian (possibly Mexican) cabinet maker had a few bits and bobs left over from a bespoke bedroom suite build 😂😂😂 I'm sure I've seen it in a few Spaghetti Westerns!
  11. That's one purdy bass you've got there! GLWTS
  12. Bargain here for someone! GLWTS
  13. Looks like a relative of this one on a previous thread. It suffers from similar jiggery pokery.
  14. £290 for Colwyn Bay? Surely, it must be worth double that? 😂
  15. I took the setup rehearsing tonight. Oh, it sounds good 😀 The combo's got all the volume I'll ever need as a standalone but may put an extension on if by chance there's a gig without PA support. I really can't fault the bass either. They will both be going everywhere with me from now on. It's exactly what I've been after for years! The problem now is that I'll need a spare Jazz and I might have to pay as much as £35 for it 😂😂😂😂
  16. Oh, I'm not worrying. Far from it. I've never been one to care what other folk think about my gear. 😀 I'm more interested in what others would do really. If you read many of the posts on BC, I think folk love to pull gear to bits and over analyse it. Everything from patch leads to picks. There always seems to be a certain nuance that makes one item inferior to another. Cost is often a common denominator. I agree with virtually every reply so far and firmly believe that if it sounds good, its good enough whatever the cost!
  17. Come to think of it, I should have done a poll!
  18. I bought Kevvo66's Trace GP7 SMC 112 130w combo today which cost £80 (Great deal. Thanks again Kev!). I originally wanted it to stick in a little studio room at home. Picked it up today and paired it with a Squier Affinity Jazz (from around 2002) that I bought off Gumtree a couple of weeks ago for £30. I've done a bit of recording with this bass as it plays and sounds really well. When paired with the Trace they sound marvellous! Really gutsy and loud. When recording into Logic, I've been using the Jazz with the vintage Ampeg emulation and nailed the sound that I've been looking for, for a long long time. I've now found, I can get the same sound and more with the Trace and this particular Jazz. I'm quite taken aback that after all this time and money, I've got a setup for £110 that I'd definitely take out and gig with (and now intend to do just that). I've used many many basses and rigs over the years and I can't think of any combination that sounded better than this one. On par, different yes but not any better. What a win! Maybe I'm just getting old! 😂😂😂😀
  19. It now resides with me (as from today) and is a tremendous piece of kit. I've been an advocate of lightweight gear but to be honest, it's not that bad and the sound more than makes up for the extra pounds. 😀
  20. I'm gobsmacked by some of the Ashdown deals on here. It's great bass gear too. I know space can be an issue but surely not for everyone selling their stuff on here. I've still got a MiBass 2.0 110 combo and 1x10 extension that I sort of donated as it would have sold for peanuts on here. It now resides in the rehearsal studio that we use as a spare if any bass gear goes down. Better there and used than taking little money for what is in essence, a great little setup.
  21. Just bought Kev's Trace combo. Exactly as described. Well, better than described really. Absolute monster of a rig too. Exactly what I was looking for. Had a meet up and it's always a pleasure to to deal with him face to face. Thanks again Kev. This one's got to be a keeper! Cheers Dunc
