dude dont sell for that cheap, they are just worth more, hang on to it, unless your after something else?
Yeah mate I know for a fact they’re worth much more as I’ve got exactly the same ‘ray that was advertised in this listing, hence the “ridiculous bargain price” statement. Who would choose to be a Stingray seller at the moment?????? …not me.
  2. Ok..the black Warwick tolex case has been ordered this morning from SoundsLive.co.uk. No idea when delivery will be but I'd hope to have it by the end of next week. I'll post some pics and give a small review once I've used it a few times. Fingers crossed it's a gooden
  3.
bump its just takin up space, if you can collect, i think il take anything really, just pm me
I'd probably have this if it was easily collectable as it's a slight hassle using a full Ampeg valve rig for 'quiet' practising, but I'm in Derby without a car and TBH the petrol would have made the trip more expensive than the amp. Oh well. I’m sure someone can find a use for it who’s nearby.
she is a beautiful bass, if only it had a maple board...
don't fancy this one at a rediculous bargain price of £600 then?... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=18032
  5. It's still advertised at £600? Put it on hold or withdraw it maybe if you have a buyer lined up with £750? I can definitely relate to the financial woes of being a student but as soon as you had your buyer lined up at £750 you should have put the bass on hold and told the guy on the phone that it’s sold pending payment and it’s a wasted trip. That’s my 2 pence worth anyways.

I concur with your sentiments and find myself in a similar predicament
  7.
Exactly what i thought, i'd love one just for the vintage look, give it a good drag around on the pavement first (and at £40 i can almost afford to do so... ALMOST haha)
thinking about it i might just take a gamble on it, how wrong can i go with a £40 warwick hard case? ...famous last words

  9. + 1 on joining to sell, don't know how I actually found it though. Great community of likeminded people encouraged me to get a bit more involved than using it as a fee free fleabay.
Postage would probably be about £30 if the cab is ~20kg. If you just completely encase it in a lot of bubble wrap and then insulating foam it should be ok in the post. I've posted cabs to people like that and they've always arrived fine
I'll try and find some scales to weigh it, but I think it's going to be closer to 27kg or 28kg...possibly 30kg. The Trace combo is about 34Kg and the 1x15 is slightly lighter, but only slightly. I'll get on it though.
  11. beefy rig, I've got some end of uni house parties that this would be handy for sadly though it would get covered in beer and puke amongst other bodily fluids, and I dont have £1k for a PA Looks good thought mate, good luck with it and have a bump^^

    Bargain!

what a find, surely even the gig bag is worth more than £4!
  13. Jamiroquai - Try and learn every song on Emergency On Planet Earth. Zender was 19 when he recorded that album, that just blows my mind for what he comes out with. Such musicality at such a young age, what a player. The reeeaaaallly tricky one is Music Of The Wind - get on it Edit - actually I just learnt it in about 45mins...cant be that tricky but what a choooon
  14. what a stitch up, obviously a seller who cannot be taken seriously? Edit - forgot to mention that I got a thumb bolt on for £550 with a good hard case, so £600 would have been cheap but not unreasonably cheap for the seller to let it go for that much, but...how can anyone advertise a price and let someone drive all that way knowing that they're not going to sell it to them for the advertised price?!?! it's madness i tell thee
  15. Etiquette would be to introduce yourself in the “Introductions” thread before selling if that’s all you’ve joined to do. Just friendly advice…just trying to avoid a ruckus whilst simultaneously not causing one
  16.
I spoke to Peavey's service manager who was supposed to sorted me out with a "new" one and it wasn't what I expected or wanted in terms as a replacemnet for my damaged one, hence the reason why I got my refund. So it's a bit too late to complain to somebody any higher, don't you think?? Or is it????
Milk it for all it's worth mate. Peavey are a massive guitar company who wouldn’t want rumours about disgraceful customer service and support to be filtered out through forums like this so get in contact with someone higher than a customer service manager if it's possible and ask for an explanation to why they have wasted so much of your time and why they think it’s alright to replace your bass, which they broke, with something that isn’t an acceptable representation of the original and could be considered as 2nd hand. That's what I'd probably do, probably being the key word though because I'm a lazy arse at the best of times
May be interested in the 1x15 if you can post to N. Ireland.
I'd rather not TBH. I wouldn’t know how to package it for a start but also I wouldn't want to be liable for damage in transit as it would be getting loaded and unloaded a number of times onto a number of vans if it's going over to Ireland. As it happened the Trace is getting sent via City Link pretty soon depending on when I actually do receive payment...but that's quite a bit smaller then the 1x15 cab. If you look into it and are happy to pay for the shipping then I will consider packing it up for shipping over to N. Ireland, but I think the shipping is going to be extortionate and not worth it for a 100 quid cab but by all means have a look into it.
  18.
Here's a tip for you if you want to have owned that many... don't have kids and get a day job Bear in mind that I got my first one 20 years ago. Funnily enough my quest for the sound I want is bringing me back to what I had 20 years ago... a Stage I though a solid state amp and 10" speakers. Funny old game bass playing
that sounds like a reasonable trade off; no kids = more bass
  19. Cheers for all the replies guys. Yeah string change every 2 weeks - I like them fresh . Band practise is around 3 hours once a week then if I've got 2 gigs that week + any playing at home then they get a bit dull. Have to admit that I usually just boil them up then actually put a new set on every couple of months. Very helpful comments in regards to the wax situation. So I don't have to worry that I'm being grossly negligent then?...well that's good to know. Warwickhunt...50 Warwicks?!?!?!?! wow...and 1 tin of wax. Sounds like the sort of maintenance that I could get used to and obviously not worry about the wood deteriorating. Hopefully I will be able to build up a collection like that in the future. I’ll probably end up waxing it once a month then – less time and effort (I’m a lazy student). Cheers again for the info.
  20. Stunner...wow. I seriously envy the lucky so and so who will be owning this in the near future, but it's not going to be me as I am not rich enough
  21. Just wondering how bad it is not to wax my natural finished Warwick as amongst other things, I simply can't be arsed to do it the recommended once a week. If I'm honest I'll probably do it at least every 3 weeks but more often than not it will get done every 2 weeks when I'm replacing the strings. Hypothetically...how bad is it to leave it for a month? like on a regular basis that is for instance a year or 2...will this actually lead to the wood drying out? what happens when the wood does dry out? how can i tell when the wood is drying out? etc etc... I'm sure warwickhunt knows a thing or two about this Cheers in advance
  22.
How do I get my music onto Itunes? I'm happy to have it free for download so not bothered about getting any money for it. Just sooner have it available for free. Thanks for anyhelp.
check out tunecore.com that should explain everything
  23.
I know what you mean - I had the same thing with my Stingray. Bought a Sterling now and it's great. The sound gets pretty close and the neck is so much easier to play. Have you tried one? If not you ought to give one a go. As a comparison you could take your 'Ray along to do an AB. When the Sterling's switch is towards the bridge the humbucker is in parallel (as it is on a 'Ray). Free bump.
yeah a friend of mine has a Sterling and it feels perfect and it's easy to get used to after playing Warwicks. Tried to swap my 'ray for a Stearling a few times but no one with a Sterling wanted to let theirs go...saying that, if my Stingray looked like this I'd make myself get used to the wider neck
