  1. And you don't need to finish it. They're both very nice.... Now, play nice both of you
  2. Update: Now sold and collected I'm selling my Fender Bassman 100T amp along with the Neo 410 cabinet and a set of custom Roqsolid covers. The amp was bought new from GAK. The one they initially sent me was faulty and I was sent a replacement direct from Fender. While I was waiting for this to turn up, I needed something for gigs so I bought a Genz Shuttle and I've ended up using that instead of the Fender. As a result, the Fender has only been used at home a few times and is in immaculate condition. The cab has actually been gigged - once - but it's in the same immaculate condition as the amp. I have all the manuals and leads and the footswitch. This is a fantastic amp - two channels, switchable with the included footswitch. The amp also has DI out and the impedance can be switched to allow it to run without a speaker load - this makes it great for recording as you can get all the tube drive without the volume! The amp also has a neat self-balancing feature on the valves which cuts down on maintenance costs. The cabinet is reasonably light considering its a 410. Large castors make it easy to move around and they're easily removed once you're in position so that the thing stays put when you start playing... The covers were ordered new from RoqSolid and are felt lined with covered cutouts for the pockets. They're also in immaculate condition although there may be the odd cat hair as one of ours like to kip on top of the amp.... The amp alone costs £1600 new, the cab is around £750 and the covers cost £150. I'm asking £1,500 (or sensible near offer) for the whole lot.... OK, now the Ts and Cs..... These things weigh a fair bit and I don't have suitable packing materials so I wouldn't be able to pack it which means that it's collection only, folks. Even if you offer to arrange your own courier, I'm afraid it's still collection only - but PM me to discuss options. The upside of this is that it means that you get to try before you buy and if you don't like it, you can still walk away 🙂 I'm based near Cleethorpes but can travel to meet/deliver with a small contribution to cover fuel. Also - and I'm sure you'll understand why - I'm only interested in selling the whole package so I'm afraid that even if you only want the covers, they're still £1500 and you get the amp and cab thrown in 🙂 And finally, I'm not after any trades at this time - soz. I'll post some pictures shortly when I've got them off my phone. Thanks for looking!
  3. I was a grammar school boy in 1973 so that means that I can only be into Yes, Genesis, King Crimson and Mike Oldfield. Everything else must be a private vice that I have to indulge in alone. If I’d been just a couple of years younger I could have been into something cool like punk. A few years older and I’d have been in the Beatles generation. Instead, I’ve been saddled with the love that dare not speak its name since 1977.....
  4. The first band I ever saw was at a family wedding in the sixties when i was but a nipper. The band did loads of Shadows covers and i distinctly remember the bass player had a Candy Apple Red bass. No idea what make or model - in my mind it's a Fender of some sort but i could be wrong. Since that day i a) wanted to play bass and b) wanted a CAR Fender. I've managed (a) (barely, some might say) and got close to (b) with a Sandberg. So i voted red because, for me, that's the 'proper' colour for a bass.
  5. Welcome to the forum, m'sieu 😁
  6. It certainly cuts through a muddy, guitar-saturated mix......
  7. Ah. Just spotted the "sort" options at the top. Timeline is restored....phew.
  8. Ok, everything has voting buttons now and the timeline is all over the place. Fleabag seems to have unwittingly altered the fabric of time. Or at least, watched it fall down the stairs
  9. The voting arrows are fun. Dunno what impact they have but I've been voting all Teebs' posts down ....suggest you all do the same?
  10. Wow. D'Addario Chromes sound fantastic on the little Gretsch. I am so chuffed with this....
  11. I adore my 4003s. I love the sound it makes, the shape and the light(ish) weight. Annoyances were limited to the awful paint finish on the back of the neck that goes sticky after about twenty minutes playing and the lack of anywhere to anchor a thumb while playing the E string. The sticky neck thing is apparently well known and affects some basses and not others. I fixed mine by rubbing the back with very fine sandpaper and basically removing the top paint surface. It's made the back of the me know very dull but i don't care as the bass is now all-evening playable. The thumb thing I've sorted with a thumb rest that i made. What was a beautiful looking and sounding bass, spoilt by some poor design/finish issues is now my favourite instrument. You could argue that for the price this should all be sorted at the factory - but i like the fact that this is my bass and it's customised precisely to my taste.
  12. I want one of those outfits. In fact, I want to be in that band. You know that thread that we have running about not taking oneself too seriously....these guys would take the crown
  13. I hated the idea of eBooks right until the point when i got a kindle. Best invention ever! It saves me a huge amount of room both in the house and in my luggage when i go on holiday.
  14. With Brian Blessed in a regular cameo role. Every time Sting appears, he pops up and says........ *wait for it* ”Gordon’s arrived!” * I’ll get me coat....
  15. No we don’t. We is rebels. We is da fewcha an’ we don’ need to respeck no one and nuffin’. Ya dig me, blud?
  16. Ah, oui. Le telly. Pardonnez-moi. J’ai oublie que papa habite en France. Je suis certainement un billy silly.
  17. I can’t play with a pick so I’d be useless with a banana....
