...I'd try all the easily available picks at your local musical instrument shop before looking at the more esoteric stuff.
I can't belive what I'm reading! BRX advocates normalcy!

Burns Bison...anyone played one of the Korean versions?
Lfalex v1.1 replied to thebeat's topic in Bass Guitars
I tried a Korean one many moons ago, when trying (unsuccesfully) to find a Fender Jazz that I liked (tone-wise). It was easily the best sounding bass I played that day! It played well, too (But this was in the now legendary Wapping Bass Centre, and their instrumnents were nearly all superbly set up) I liked the pick-up switching. The "wild dog" setting is good! I'd have bought it, but it was white and gold, and looked like some tastless nouveau-riche individual's bathroom suite. Had it been black/silver, I'd probably have bought it. Now, I have too many black basses, and probably wouldn't bother... but only for that reason! -
I love my 2002 Thumb BO. Now's the best time to pick up a Warwick, they go for a fraction of what they're worth.
Except in a nearby CrackConverters, where they have a light blue 4 String Thru-neck Vampyre for £2200! Must be an ugliness tax...
lovely chaser. having made plenty of these while working for Mike and having owned a couple myself I can vouch that they are superb all round basses and they definitly deserved the bass of the year award which they won from guitar buyer. They do the stingray sound fantastically well but are also very versatile. though slightly chunkier than a Jazz bass at the nut they are very fast and slim feeling so I wouldn't be put off if you have smaller hands! good luck with the sale
Said like a true professional

Another of the collection needs to be moved on. It's not getting the use it should anymore, and the GAS, she is a-striking! An Ibanez SRX700. No longer made, but a relative of the DWB model (albeit with different EQ and woods) In summary; 34" Scale 24 Frets Nylon nut 5 piece Walnut/Maple Through-neck. 2 More Walnut stripes either side of the main neck assembly before the Ash wings begin 2 Band Active EQ (9v) Bass and Treble cut & Boost. The other two controls are Master Volume and Pick-up Pan. 2 open-pole humbucking pick-ups. (Ibanez' own) Nickel-coloured hardware which is showing discolouration in places. (Tuners and Bridge- See photos for detail) Skinny Ibanez neck- 38mm @ Nut, 65mm @ base of neck but still 19mm string spacing. Bridge allows regular top-loading and a sort of "under-top" stringing, in which the ball ends slot into a cavity in the body rather than being strictly "Thru-body". Not sure it makes much difference, really! Regular 34" strings still fit easily. It's been rehearsed with and gigged with, but has no cosmetic or structural damage to the body. I make sure the rivets on my jeans are covered by a T-shirt, or I wear trousers that don't have them. I never wear belts (or braces!) so the back stays rash-free. Only mod is the addition of Schaller straplock buttons. Enough of my jabbering. Lookee at de pictures. Detail of bridge showing the "under-top" string loading and discolouration. Detail of tuner, showing discolouration. I don't have a hard case for this, but can put it in a (non-padded) vinyl gigbag. I won't post or ship this bass, so we'll have to meet at a mutually acceptable location (within reason) I'm based in central Essex. I'm looking for [s]£375[/s] Price drop to £325 Thanks for looking. Any questions, feel free to PM me. I visit the site daily, and will try to respond as promptly as I can. Alex.

For Sale: The First Zoot Chaser. Hand-made by Mike Walsh (Iceni Music) Specs as follows; 2 piece Maple cap over 3 piece Ash back with Purpleheart accent stripe Bolt-on 1 Piece Hard Maple Neck with 24fret Rosewood fretboard. Truss-rod adjustment at headstock end. 1 Seymour Duncan Basslines Musicman-style Humbucker in a mid position. 3 band East E-pro EQ using 18v power Controls; Master volume (pull up for series, down for parallel switching), Passive tone, Bass, Treble, Bright. Switch determines active/passive operation. String through body. Proprietary Iceni music designed bridge (chrome-plated brass saddles) Gotoh machine heads. Schaller strap buttons. The (satin) varnish has a small impact mark on the upper edge of the top horn, which was there when I bought it from Mike. Camera wont really pick it up, I'm afraid. I Guess the pictures say the rest; Tone-wise, it very much apes the Stingray sound, but is both punchier and more refined. I don't have a hard case for it, but will include the Protection Racket bag it came in. Edit: SOLD
