Stretching off, how does that work? I'm trying to stay relaxed, but pushing tempo on some riffs, inevitably there's a build up of lactic acid and whatnot in the muscles that don't understand what's needed of them yet, how does one warm up and down as a noob so one doesn't turn into a total mess?

Srsly though why do people keep trying to steal my cable? Is there a decent system for labelling them? grrr.

Tonight is my first gig with Bowie tribute band Rebel Heroes. We'll be playing from 8.30-ish (which could actually be 9.00!) at the Cornerhouse, 1 Christchurch St East, Frome BA11 1QA. For the gear nerds, I will be mostly playing my '63 AVRI Precision through a Demeter head into a BF Super Twin. If you're a Basschatter, come up and say hello - but not while we're actually playing!

Big shout out to Andertons, who firstly got a bass to me super-quick, then sorted a couple of minor issues quickly and efficiently. Superlative service. Will be buying from them again.

Hi Bass players.  I'm Bob O'Brien a 61 year old jazz upright bass player who has been playing on and off for about 50 years.  I play a German flatback bass of unknown origin made in the 1850's with a Revolution Solo pickup and use a Gallien-Kruger amplifier for small gigs.  I studied at Berklee in the late 1970's, stopped gigging after getting married to pursue a day job, and retired in August (finally!!) and am playing the bass regularly again.  I've kept my chops up fairly well over the years but completely lost touch with equipment, technology, trends, etc that affect bass players.  I really appreciate the wealth of bass knowledge on these pages and look forward to learning from everyone here on the boards.

Complete convert to Neo magnet pickups. Fitted a set on my Jazz - sounds totally immense...

Revisiting the Boss ODB-3......I mean it's crappy stock, but have ordered the Monte Allums Tri-Gain Mod kit to aid with that issue haha. 
It's Boss, so features and functions are excellent, but hopefully this mod will make it more than useable sound wise!

Have to say, that Kala U Bass Journeyman looks mighty tempting for a living room noodler.....
