Leading on from the above, can someone explain the 1- / 1+ stuff? I haven't had chance to play mine again yet, worked fine so I must have plugged it in right, but the only speakon connector I had before was with my GK rig, which had it's own speakon cable for the bi-amping so never looked into how they're wired.
2. Much better looking! If it's still the same price I can see it selling well.
3. Is it the Deluxe Active P? My Deluxe Active Jazz is really well made, no noise (that'll be the noiseless pickups then). It's only downsides were the bent tin bridge (now replaced) and the back pickup is really weak sounding, not sure whether it's the pickup or the pre but I've never bothered sorting it because I'm happy with the tone I get off the neck p-up.
4. Wouldn't a 2U rack bag do the job for that?
5. Playing the Astoria 2 (/Mean Fiddler) to about 1000 people, and releasing an album in Australia distributed by Sony BMG - it was nice to see a major label's logo on our album we recorded in 4 days for £1000
Have you guys had the same experience with the fan etc ?
Still haven't had chance to play it loud, but that's exactly how my old GK 1001RB-II was, the fan would turn on briefly after power-up, then would barely be on at all, even through a two hour practice, just came on occasionally if it was needed, and the amp was still cool at the end. I guess it's the same for these.
7. Two more evenings to go until I can play through my Puma 350 and S212 at real volume, can't wait
8. If I'm distorting then my amp is broken. Not to say I don't like distortion on bass, I really do, just that my band's sound doesn't call for it. In a rock/metal band a touch of distortion adds a really nice sound!

Thanks again Mark! Really happy with my Puma 350 and S212, build quality is excellent, and I can't believe how light they are. Haven't had chance to play it loud yet, but at practice volumes the tone is great, plenty of bass, nice smooth treble, can't wait to gig with it!

I haven't played my Puma 350 and S212 at gig volume yet, but I haven't heard any hiss when practising through it! Should get to try gig volume on Thursday so we'll see.

Yep, already had orders to clear some space! ...not to mention the credit card!
12. I'm the same, I usually leave the same CD on in the car for about a week and give it a proper listen. At home, it's usually the iPod, which is usually ripped from CD as I rarely buy MP3s (I don't like paying for something that could be deleted or lost to a dead harddrive). In the office however, I love Last.fm, Spofity, We7... just for the random selections as background noise.
13.
and exactly the music I'd like to play, (Alkaline Trio, Jimmy Eat World, Samiam as their influences). Then they sent the tracks....wow.
Got any links? That sounds exactly like the kind of music I listen to!

4ohms. Think this will be the last time I ever change amps!

What a little beast! The 350w Puma and S212 are way louder than my HD500 and Triad, and stupidly light! So many useable tones from the amp, normally I'm not a fan of boosted mids but this brings out a perfect tone, especially with a little tweak of the taste control. Looking forward to trying it out with the band! Got a pic but can't upload it direct from my phone

My Puma and S212 just arrived!!! ...unfortunately I won't be home from work until 6:30 to give it a blast
17. Don't discount the Spector Rebop if you're looking at a bolt-on Streamer shape. I'm a Fender player, have been for years, but kept coming back to the Spector NS2 shape (even tried a Rock Bass Steamer but that didn't cut it). Can't afford a Euro or proper Streamer because I'll never sell my Fender, but the Spector Legend did the job nicely, and I played my first gig with it this week. So much smaller and lighter than what I'm used to, but I actually enjoyed the gig more, because I could move around more easily, and I actually had a better tone too!
ah thanks, i'm in Leamington Spa. what cab(s) you planning to use the puma 350 with?
I ordered the S212 too. I'm going to take it to my next practice along with current amp and try both amps through the S212 - if the Puma is loud enough I'll keep it purely because of the weight, if not I'll stick with my HD500 and sell the Puma. Hoping the Puma does the job though!

Where abouts in the West Midlands are you? My Puma 350 will be arriving tomorrow if you want to try it out sometime.

Damn, I wanted the M212 to sit my rack on properly. Oh well, got the Puma on the way now!

I ordered a Puma as well, couldn't resist at that price, a £1568 rig for £698 that weighs next to nothing. Can't wait for Friday's gig now!

If you plug it into an 8ohm cab, it'll output 270w, if you plug it into a 4ohm cab (or two 8ohm cabs) it'll output 350w
