1.
weren't the living end a punk band? From australia, I vaguely remember the bassist playing a chequered upright
Yep, great band, never made it as big over here as they are elsewhere for some reason.
2. I almost bought an Adam Black six string once, very good quality for the price, I just decided I didn't really need a guitar in the end or I'd have bought it.
3. With a Mexican Jazz Deluxe and a Korean Spector I'm more a Championship manager, I haven't got a lot to spend and I usually have to sell before I can buy, but I'm always looking for a promotion!
4. It's no use... I'm going to have to delete my ebay account! That's awesome. I want it. But I can't have it
5. Mine arrived in a week I think, may order another one!
6. Looks like the body is from a Guitar Hero LP!
7. I bought a copy of this at the weekend to read while I'm working away this week. Once I've finished it I'll add it to the circulation.
8. I've got a two channel amp, so it's one channel for my main bass and another for the backup. Nice and easy!

10. Bought this for my girlfriend last year but she never learnt to play it so no point keeping it to gather dust! Actually plays really well, low action, nice neck, good sounding pickups. In good condition except for on knock on the back (as shown in pics) which was there when we bought it. £130 - collection preferred as it doesn't have a case. Construction: Set-Neck Body: Mahogany w/Contour Top Neck: Mahogany Fingerboard: Rosewood Fret: 22 Medium Scale: 24 3/4" Inlay: Stars Bridge: TonePros® Tune-O-Matic w/String-Thru Body Tuners: Grover Hardware: Black Pickups: Duncan Designed Detonators™ [HB-108] (Dark Star), Duncan Designed Active Humbuckers [HB-105] (Red Star) Electronics: Master Volume, Master Tone, 3-Way Selector, the Dark Star has a Push-Pull Tone Tap* Strings: D’Addario EXL 110 Finish: Red Star
11. I'm not one for playing with my tone much, I just set it to something I like on the amp and leave it there, but at different venues I might not be cutting through or something, so it's nice to be able to boost/cut as needed. With my old passive bass I couldn't do anything about it except cut (as I always had everything up full). Now I keep everything centred, get the tone through my amp, then throughout the set I cut or boost whenever I need to. I'm sure there are people here who don't EQ on their amp and do it all on their active preamp, but that's the way that works for me.
12. I'd rather buy a new one AND a new bass!
13. Pretty sure it's an NS2000/Q4, waiting on confirmation from Spector though. But there's another one on ebay, not such a bargain though! - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Spector-Q4-Pro-Bass_...id=p3911.c0.m14 Oh... and getting this really hasn't done my GAS any good, I now want a Euro!!
14. They definitely did!
15. Should be able to pick a second hand B2R up for a decent price, think I sold mine for under £300 (about three years ago). Good amps, was loud enough for me with a 4ohm BSE410HLF and never let me down.
16. hm, more confused now... it's active, so it can't be a Performer either, unless someone's upgraded it. But the tone controls have centre indents, so it can't be a Tone Pump!
17. It's arrived! Pretty sure it's not a Legend though, it hasn't got the curved body. Possibly a Performer DLX 4, I'll need to take the plate off and see if there's a battery under there, but I've also emailed the serial number to Spector so they can let me know for sure. Either way, I'm happy with it!
18. Oh that is nice! The 'Legend' I bought on ebay arrived this morning, it's not a Legend because it hasn't got the curved body, but other than being a bolt-on looks very similar to that! Possibly a Performer DLX 4, I'm not sure.
19.
i think i read somewhere that when fender first made the mike dirnt precision every signature bass had the players name/signature on it somewhere. mike dirnt didn't want this, but he had a tattoo of a star somewhere (i think on his wrist) so they used that instead. eventually they got rid of it (i think its still the only signature bass without the name/signature of the player anywhere on the bass), but mike dirnt still has it on most of the ones he plays. so i guess they just decided to bring it back in on the squiers. btw what i just said may all be complete nonsense, but i think i read it somewhere.
I had one of the first Mike Dirnts, it didn't have the signature or the star. Was a great bass, but very heavy (the Squiers are lighter), and not as well made as it should have been, a few gaps in the fretwork and the pickup was loose.
20. It is! Soon on it's way to it's 4th(?) BCer!
21. I'd like a read of that afterwards please
22. I shipped a bass to Greece a year or two ago, wasn't even in a hard case, I just took the neck off, packed it really well and made sure it was insured. No problems.
23. Sold pending payment & delivery!
24. I didn't know Chuck Ragan was in the UK!? Gutted, I'm already seeing other bands on the days he's playing, and I've only got tickets for one day at Reading... the day he's at Leeds!
25. Need to fund the purchase of the Spector Legend, so tempted to sell my SX Jazz. Only had it a few months, but always go for the Fender so it's not really being used. Not got any decent pics of it yet, will take some if there's any interest, but here's a pic of the body and half the neck with my other gear - the Bad Ass is now on the Fender, so it will come with a Fender bridge instead of the one pictured. Blue burst body, maple neck with pearl inlays, 'Faker Jazz Bass' logo, I believe a Wizard pickup in the neck and stock pickup at the bridge. Plays really well and sounds great (I usually have the neck pickup on full, and turn the bridge pickup down about halfway, great tone!). Looking for £140. Oh and I live in the West Midlands, work in north Leicestershire, and probably working in Welwyn Garden City next week if that helps anyone with collection.
