I had one, I didn't sound like a Trace Elliot and wasn't as loud as the numbers suggest but was perfect to use with a quality pre amp and was well built.
The nearest that I have tried was a GK Fusion 550. The big one not the Class D.
It reminded me of a Trace Elliot as soon as I started playing through it, I should really buy one instead of trying every other amp on the planet. Lol.
Are they any good for metal?... yes, that's all they are good for after watching those videos.
It's an interesting looking amp head, I look forward to watching a proper demo video.
I agree 100% with you, I owned one of the early Peavey era Trace heads and it sounded excellent.
I've never seen anyone gig an Elf, but I have seen plenty of old Trace Elliots.
...and fingers crossed for Mesa, I hope they survive.
What range of amplification would that be and what great things are they doing with the brand? I thought they only make a 200w class D amp that doesn't have the Trace Elliot sound. It's an ok amp but just a toy compared to the original Trace gear.
