  1. I was going to see Adam Ant this Friday... gig postponed due to illness. Fingers crossed for the reschedule and his health.
  2. Spoken like a true Health and Safety Manager...
  3. In the words of the great philosopher David St. Hubbins... "It's such a fine line between stupid and clever"
  4. Thanks John for building the Fender Jazz Bass Deluxe/Darkglass Tone Capsule preamp for me. Top quality product and service. Cheers
  5. Sorted...Darkglass Tone Capsule + Dimarzio Model J pick ups all tied together by @KiOgon in a jazz bass chrome plate... It's sounding very promising through my practice amp, really looking forward to giving it a blast at rehearsal later this week.
  6. I don't get the colours with Yamaha. You'd think with the number of artists they have using the BB basses in custom colours the penny would drop with the design team.
  7. That's a lovely looking bass! Did you match the house to the bass or the other way around? 😉
  8. Can hand deliver to most areas of Yorkshire, the North and I'm in Scotland every month with work, mainly Edinburgh and Glasgow. Grab a fantastic amp, in immaculate condition for a great price...
  9. That's common practice for manufacturers. Buy from Mr. £619, he'll be grateful for the business and Ashdown will still love you and look after you. I think this is a large part of the process called "The Circle Of Gas" 😁
  10. Interesting thread. I played my first gig last weekend since lockdown. I did plan to just DI straight from a Sansamp I had recently bought and use the stage monitoring but the sound that it produced didn't work for the band or me, I ended up buying another Orange 4Stroke for the gig as that is what I has previously used with this band... which happened to be the right decision. Every thing was spot on during sound check, I could step back and hear my amp or step forward for the fold back, perfect. Unfortunately, the monitors failed as we started to play our first number which was a bit of a nightmare as we use a drum machine but we could just hear enough of the FOH to get away with it, luckily we all had amps on stage and based on this experience we always will. The fold back did come back at various times during our set but it was a mess, the sound levels were all over. Amp on stage always, the DI only would have been a disaster.
  11. I've just picked one of these up and have to say it sounds excellent, I have previously used an EBS Chorus/Flanger, Boss BF3, Zoom multi effects and a Helix FX, the m117r currently beats all of them for smooth, lush flanger sounds... practice night tomorrow for the true test. Any one else running one?
  12. Same with my old Thumb. The neck was remarkable.
  13. Yes, I've been following them for ages as they make a very good replica of the original 70s Clone Theory and a Yamaha BB1200s pre amp in pedal form. They get excellent reviews but the gear isn't cheap when you add in shipping and taxes. Also, keep an eye on the Reverb page as they sometimes have special offers.
  14. Mesa Boogie M9 Carbine 600w bass head. Immaculate condition, only used for rehearsal. Comes with SKB Roto case and the original Mesa box with packaging. The Mesa pedal and lead are still in the packet and haven't been used, all the original literature is included. This is a very loud and versatile amp that will run at 2 ohm if required. I've been running it at 8 ohm through a Barefaced Four10 and it can get to stupid volumes. Owned by me from new. Cash on collection from Hartlepool. Hand made in the U.S.A. Will part ex against Bergantino 15+6 cash my way or a Yamaha BB Peter Hook cash your way.
