1. My VM5 California Supreme came through today, after an absolute headache courtesy for Parcelforce... Only had a quick go, but, wow. I'm really pleased! Seems very capable and versatile. Great setup out of the box too! Finish and frets are perfect. Pics to follow!
2. Thread resurrection! How are you guys getting on with Loxx strap locks? I'm looking at getting a set for a new bass. Supposedly Loxx directly replace most stock strap button screw without need for matchsticks and wood glue!
3.
Not got my Sandberg yet, been waiting since January for my custom build California TT tobacco sunburst with ebony fretboard, it should hopefully be ready in the next couple of weeks. Anyone seen or tried the 2015 California's? There are a few differences with the new models and wanted to see what people think?
I really like the look of them. But, just ordered my VM5, which will be the older model. I was debating whether to hold out for a new version, but couldn't resist mine when I saw it! Plus, I need it now and couldn't afford to wait until they're available.

Fantastic! Nicest example of one of these I've seen.
5. I posted a Fender P yesterday in SKB case and cardboard box with near enough a roll of parcel tape wrapped round it! According to my recepit it weighed 11.634kg. Those SKB cases aren't what I'd call lightweight though.
6. Hardly used, so asking £25 delivered. It's a cool strap, which I forgot I had, hence it being mostly unused. As I no longer own a Fender bass, this one is going to be passed on. Given recent back problems, I would trade this for one of those neoprene padded straps, or some sort of comfort strap. 7. As the 8 pages here will testify, Nick is a super easy guy to deal with and like a lot of us, loves his basses. Met Nick for the second time today, in another ferry terminal car park and swapped envelope for bass in the time honoured BC tradition. Enjoy the bass mate :-)
8.
I have a USA jazz in this same colour combo. The photos dont do it justice. Wish i had £700 spare to complete the set.
You're spot on. It's a sparkly finish in the right light, definitely not a flat colour, but I couldn't really photograph it well.
9. Unfortunately, something has come up and I desperately need the cash. I'm now asking £750 as I need these both shifted asap. This could pass for new and is a beautiful example of a Fender P. Please give her a good home!
10. Unfortunately, something has come up and I now need the cash desperately. Hence the stupidly low asking price of £700 for a US standard P in as new condition!!
11. Now £800!! As with my other one, these need to go now and will be part ex'd soon.
12. Price dropped to £750 - before it's part ex'd

15. As new, bar the car fluff in the Velcro! Which will be picked out before posted!! These are super cool little foldable devices, was a great addition to my 102p when I had it. I only used it a couple of times and the cab was sold, so its sat in my wardrobe for a couple of years unused. Asking £20 including postage. Can't upload photos from my phone so will try again later if someone is keen. It is the one with the little picture of Marco that says 'Mark World' though, rather than the one which says 'Markbass'. Matt
16. Super cool funky pedal. I just don't use it. Asking £40 which will include recorded delivery. Rubber feet attached to bottom, pedal is without its original box but condition wise, it is as new. For some reason I can't add Photobucket links from my phone. Will try again later or can do emails if anyone wants a photo.
17. Hi all, Reluctantly i am selling my two P basses, only for the reason that after years of putting it off i am moving to 5 strings. This is the one that i told myself i would never sell and TBH, i will withdraw if no one wants. I spent a long time finding this one. It is the best Fender P i have played, it is just everything they were intended to be. It is as new condition, no scuffs, chips, dents or buckle rash. It weighs bang on 8.5 lbs and was the lightest one i could find at the time and is in the best colour and finish option available!! Ha. I bought it new only a year ago! I have added a bridge cover as you can see and it is strung with Fender 50-100 flats. Also, the rosewood board has a very nice colour to it. TheFender flats are a little brighter than the LaBellas on my other one and the tension isn't as high. This bass seems to work really well with them, as with the tone pot on full it is quite bright and aggressive and tone fully off it is super round and thumpy. It retains this lovely clarity throughout though. Every now and then you get a Fender that is just spot on. It plays, looks and sounds exactly like it should and is a great example of the standard (no pun intended) of what Fender can do. As with my red one, ideally, this would be a cash sale, but i'm open to trade offers for five strings. Collection from Lymington, Portsmouth or Southampton are doable. Given the quality of the SKB cases, i could find out some packaging and do postage as well if needs be. If someone is after two of these, see my other thread for it's red/maple brother. I'll do you a deal for both if you're after a set ;-) Also, looking at the pics, there are a few odd shades or patches, i can assure you it is just glare from the sun. This bass is MINT condition. Edit; as i forgot to mention it comes with SKB moulded case, strap and case candy too. Matt
18. Hi all, Reluctantly i am selling my two P basses, only for the reason that after years of putting it off i am moving to 5 strings. This particular one, i have only owned for a couple of months, it has hardly been played as was bought as a backup. It is in fantastic condition; pretty much 'as new' and you'd have to get your magnifying glass out if you were to find anything. There are no chips, knocks, scrapes or buckle rash. It's a really nice example of a maple neck Precision in a slightly less common colour! It is hard to photograph, but in the right light it is quite sparkly. The neck pocket is really nice and tight and at 9lbs it is a very good weight. The maple fretboard is beautiful and looks to be a really nice bit of maple. It comes with the normal SKB moulded hard case, Fender strap and case candy. This one is strung with LaBella flats, which suit it incredibly well. It has a very authoritative thump to it! I really like these post 2012 models and much prefer the Custom Shop pickup to the pre 2012s. Ideally, this would be a cash sale, but i'm open to trade offers for five strings. Collection from Lymington, Portsmouth or Southampton are doable. Given the quality of the SKB cases, i could find out some packaging and do postage as well if needs be. If someone is after two of these, see my other thread for it's sunburst/rosewood equipped brother. I'll do you a deal for both if you're after a set ;-) Matt
19.
I'm very encouraged with 2xS112's in a practice setting. Lovely precise voicing altho the sound is never harsh or brittle. Plenty of pronounced mids, but sweet and not at all honky .. I'd describe them as forgiving as well...but not overly warm.
Great. What finish did you go for in the end? Are you playing them with the Tonehammer?
20.
I bought it new last year from PMT in Birmingham..... I paid £980 for it. It had been hanging around in the shop for two years... They had forgotten to put it on there web site and never noticed... Know one new it was there, and over time, as the lack of perceived interest continued, they kept lowering the price on it, thinking they had a lemon on their hands..when I first realised it was there, and what it was, the deal was done in 2 minutes..... The original price they had it up for when they got it was £2300. It was literally pushed to the back of the shop, believe it or not with a BB2025X (again not on the web site) which was marked up £1200... (negotiable) I went back a couple of weeks later and the 2025X was sold, awaiting collection. Luckiest bass buy of my life...
I've just turned green reading that! Cracking find. I might give them a bell and ask them to check the back of the stock room again!
