1.
It could have been one of the original SGC Nanyo Bass Collection basses?
It must have been. I want one.
2. It doesn't need saying, but EBS stuff is amazing. Someone snap this up. I cranked my HD350 for the first time in ages last night. LOOOOVE it.
3. I think Yamaha are pretty underrated in general when it comes to guitars and basses. When I worked in a music shop I used to recommend nothing else for beginners. Can't beat the quality for the price, and that's on the dirt cheap stuff. I can only imagine how good the more expensive gear is.
4. Not that I've got any money to buy anything at the moment, but I've struggled to find a decent choice of basses for 1984. I think they skipped a year.
5. I borrowed a Bass Collection bass for one of my first gigs and I've wanted one, or at least to check more of them out, ever since. I wish I could remember what it was though, as it didn't seem like a direct copy of anything in particular. After a quick search I can't even find a website for them. Anyway, the bass felt really light and sounded great. Although that was before I'd tried a lot of different guitars, so I may have different opinions of it now.
6. Wow... I know this is an old thread, but I only just stumbled across the Studybass site and searched for it on here which led me to reading through the whole thing. Blown away by some of the content I've seen this afternoon, and used up a whole lot of work time that I'd probably get in trouble for! O_o Anyway, made a lot of notes and can't wait to work on them when I get home. Cheers guys.
7. Just bought a MIJ Boss BF-2 off Gareth. He's incredibly trusting and trustworthy, and the pedal arrived incredibly fast and well packaged. Couldn't think of a negative point about the transaction if I tried.
8. I'm guessing most people are going to need a little more info than that buddy. Pics would be a good start.
9. Not that I'm knocking this sale because I'm sure that it's a great bass but, to me, the Road Worn series is like buying a pair of jeans that already have rips in them. Personally I always find the thought of doing so a bit weird. O_o
10. I want this but nobody wants my BB and I'm running out of money from buying bits and bobs here and there! Dammit!
11. I'm far from GAS free. I need to sell my Yammy, fix up and sell my Ashdown 2x10 combo, fix a Sessionette combo I found on eBay, buy another amp for small gigs, and that's well before I look at all the unnecessary things that take my fancy. It's actually stressing me out a bit.
12. I nabbed the Boss synth pedal off Trev and the whole transaction couldn't have been much smoother. Top condition, great comms and a pleasure to deal with. Bish bosh bash, job done. Cheers again Mr B.
13. Bump for an awesome little pedal. Ok, it's a bit weird in terms of all round practicality in music, but that's part of the fun of it. Love mine.
14. Before I get your hopes up, I can't afford it. But why have I never been aware of how much I want one of these before? Would look even cooler with a maple board. What's the sound like? Free bump.
15. Along with one other, not bass related, this is the only forum that I've stayed a part of for any number of years. I haven't ever even felt the need to look elsewhere and it's because of things like this. I've never been to a meet or anything, but the general feel of this place is great and incredibly welcoming. Keep it up gents and ladies, hehe.
16. Echoing everyone else's comments really. Top guy, easy to deal with and securely packaged goods. I'm now part of the Sonic Blue Ryder club. Shame he didn't take my BB414 off me, but hey, you can't have everything.
17. I like that a lot more than I thought I would if someone just described it to me. ...A lot more!
18.
Because lets face it how many people pay attention to what people have on their wrists ??
Nobody, because there's currently nothing to look out for. I assume that we're all looking to change that and it wouldn't take much to take a cursory glance a few inches down after thinking "I wonder if they're on BC..." when watching a bassist on stage.
19.
Variety of sizes would be good also.
Well you just want the Moon on a stick, don't you?
20.
I am a gigging muso. Its in my blood and don't feel right unless i am part of a gigging band.
Then why are you limiting yourself with the one band that doesn't satisfy your need to play? Get out there!
21.
I think the fact that you guys have talked about it already is encouraging. Stick with it. It's even worse to look back and think "I wish I'd tried harder". Truckstop
High five for saying what I was essentially saying, only in two lines instead of EIGHT MILLION. Ramble ramble ramble.
