1. The original was made in Japan. When the company split, the "Tune" company that went to Korea took the design with them. You can tell the original model as the P pickup was reversed like the Warwick Streamer. I owned an ink blue one that was reviewed in Guitarist @ 1994, paid £695 for it from the Bass Centre - which was new Stingray money at the time. No experience of the Korean model but I'm always waiting for a Japanese one to turn up.
2. Tune make lovely basses, the old Bass Maniac was immense & criminally ignored. GLWTS.
3. And you've had that confirmed by a moderator have you? Or is another opinion that you consider a fact? It was a simple question that you still won't answer & instead resort to tawdry sarcasm. Stay classy & good luck with the sale.
4. MusicMan make a Sterling model but also a Sterling series, this is the latter.
5. Given the seller hasn't posted since 29 April I'm guessing its been sold.
6. Replying to questions shouldn't break the 36 hour bump rule. You're advertising the bass as being made from swamp ash & people have understandably asked for evidence to support this, given Matsumoku was surrounded by Kalopanax trees & the nearest source of true swamp ash was 6000 miles away. The "fact", as you keep referring to it, is actually an opinion of yours and some unnamed luthiers. You have to appreciate that people don't know you or these unnamed luthiers so why should they respect those opinions any more than their own? If you want to sell anything on trust you have to be open & honest, being evasive & dismissive won't persuade folk to part with their money. Just saying like.
7.
It is swamp ash, there's no doubt about it.
Interested to know how you can be so sure?
8. Quick question, if I may be so bold. The advert prices it at £875, later dropped to £825, but your signature says £800?
9. My Alembic Mark King was 14lbs+ and left me with permanent shoulder damage. Dingwall AB1 - 7.1lbs
10.
the 'If you choose to pay via PayPal then I will ask you to sign for the goods when you call to collect.' is a good idea though, I know a couple of people who have been bitten by this. Although a photo is probably better!
Neither of those options will protect you I'm afraid, Paypal require you to use a service with online tracking & delivery confirmation. If the buyer files an INR & you can't provide the online tracking details Paypal will refund, regardless of any other proof you may have. An insane loophole that eBay refuse to close & brings plenty of ripped off sellers to the eBay forums every month. Our seller is clearly an idiot, he doesn't seem to know that eBay can make him give refunds & his reply to the negative feedback for non-delivery suggests he thinks a certificate of postage is proof of receipt.
11.
Not sure Andy. I bought it from eBay way back, before the basstalk days I think. There are a few of these knocking about the uk - there were 2 in Northern Ireland at one point I believe
This was mine I think. There was 1 bass ordered with a factory fitted battery box & I bought it from the original owner on the Dude Pit, according to my paperwork, I sold it through eBay to a chap in Co. Antrim. I still have picture of the serial number somewhere, might go raking. I recall it was terrific, terrific bass.
12. Mike bought my Spector Shorty. Lovely chap, really enjoyed doing business him, recommended to everyone.
13. The AVRI range was finished in nitro BUT it was over a poly base coat, according to a Fender employee I spoke to about 15 years ago.
14. Lots of interest but still here folks.
15. Hi mate Yes, it has the hard case, I have sent you a PM so we can discuss options if you like.
16. Still here folks, at £1400 it's a lot of bass for your money.
17. £950 for a bass of this quality - wow, just wow. Whoever buys this will get a keeper, an awesome instrument in every respect for piss all money.
