1.
plus I've just put some TI Flats on the 1500A for the first time, so I am now truly a happy man with my sound
Good choice...
 2.
Boo! Ah well there are plenty of other pickups on the market.
Sorry - yes you can change the covers. They are "potted" into the plastic cover with wax (or something similar) so are easily removed.
 3.
I like the idea of these noiseless jazz pickups but hate pickups with little logos on them. Are these pickups potted? I would want to swap the covers for something plain, can I do that?
Yes
 4.
Let's face it. Anyone who buys a signature model of any description is seriously missing the point anyway and asking to be exploited
True. Although I still might buy the Babbitt signature when it finally appears.
 5.
All (both ?) JJ's Precision basses were stolen.
JJ junior has his Dad's upright bass.
 6.
The fretless I bought yesterday has La Bella Deep Talkin flats on it. They are heavier gauge than I am used to but I found I really enjoyed being able to dig in a little harder than I would with, say, TI Flats. Does anyone know which gauge the black silk-ended ones are, Standard (45-105) or Medium (49-109)? They are not as heavy as the Jamersons and I know the light gauge ones have red silks.
That'll be the FS which are 45-105.
 7. As the last owner I will vouch for this bass. At £625 with the original pups it's a steal! I didn't actually realise there was something missing from the headstock - 4candles owned the bass before me - perhaps he can shed some light on that.
 8. [post="1151467"]This is what it would have looked like.[/post]
 9.
The weight (according to my bathroom scales) is approx 8 lbs
Are you able to get an accurate weight? I've bought "8lb on the bathroom scale" basses before which were over 10lb. If it is this light I might sell one of mine to buy it.
My BB800 has a reversed pickup and it does a very authentic P sound. You'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between it and a fender in a blind test.
Seemed to work for Phil Lynott.
I gig with a 2024X, and apart from one minor problem with the selector switch which keeps cutting out (its a cheap
If it's the same switch that's used on the BB3000 it's prone to "stuff" entering the switch from the front. It doesn't help that some of Yamaha's high end cases shed fibres from their lining like a molting cat.
My only wish is that Yamaha would return to neck-thru construction. For me, the BB2000 and BB5000 have never been bettered.
I think they made a mistake in not using a reversed pickup in the bridge position on the BB2024. It makes a huge difference for players that slap.
 13. I've played one. It has a warmoth neck, I don't know about the body. I preferred the BB1500A I used to have to this model. It is a good bass, but I wouldn't have paid the retail price for one (I think they were/are about £1000?).
 14.
Are you selling so you don't have to change your username?
Don't tell anyone
 15. And another bump...
 16.
Uh.. OK.
Indeed.
 17. I ran this particular head with a couple of 4 ohm EA cabs without any problems. Having said that I never had the opportunity to try it at `full throttle'.
 18. Surprised this hasn't gone. I think Tony is talking down the bass a little (my crap pictures don't help). I'm the last owner and I'd say it's pretty unlikely that you'd find one in better condition. These have a great shaped neck on them - very much like a wal.
 19. Spector Euro 4LX in a natural oil finish, no issues, a 9/10 cosmetically. I bought this for a great price and am only looking to recover what I've put into it - so it's up for £607 plus delivery (no case). Pics to follow soon. On hold for a local buyer... SOLD
 20. Bump. Seems to be a spate of real BB's up for sale.
 21. On hold.
 22. Back up..
 23. Bump.
 24. Bought from forkhandles last september. It's a cracker of a bass and very lightweight for a jazz. Looking for £725 posted (in a hard case). Pics to follow soon. Sold already - that didn't take long!
