1.
I see Richard fairly regularly at a Sunday jam session. I didn't go yesterday but I was there last week and he was fine. I believe he's quitting the jams when the current band leader goes at the end of Jan so may not see too much of him after that unless he comes back for occasional depping.
That's good to hear.
 2. Do they do any tools to raise the nut height for us older fellas?
 3. Rich hasn't been posting for a long time now, and I see his website is down. Hopefully he's just to busy playin' to mess about online. Anyone in touch with him?
 4. Mint Wizzy Mline 12" 4 ohm cab for sale. I doubt if it's had more than 30 minutes of playing time. The usual suspects sell these at £560 so I'm looking for £374 (a 30% discount on new) plus shipping. Here are the specs (copied from the EA site)

Configuration: 1x12 M-Line bass cabinet
Woofer: Proprietary EA 12" woofer
Tweeter: Integral "whizzer" cone
Frequency Response: 45Hz to 12kHz
Sensitivity: 103dB @ 1m
Sound Pressure: 126dB @ 1m
Power Handling: 200 watts
Impedance: 8 or 4 ohms
Connection Type: Two Speakon connectors
Handle: Two integrated custom steel handles
Size: 19.5"H x 16"W x 12.75"D
Weight: 34 lbs
5. Sorry - posted in wrong forum!
 6.
GAK are clearing out their remaining P5110 stock at £369.
Well, that never lasted long. I bought one at this price for someone as a Christmas present - it had a about two hours of use on Tuesday before failing. What a POS.
 7. Depends on the individual bass to some extent. I use LaBella 760's on Fender P's and J's, but they don't really work too well on my skyline BG, whereas Chrome's do. I use Picato rounds (Pete used to fit these as standard to Wal's) which are probably the cheapest bass strings out there and they work well for me, so I'm going to try their flats and see how they go. Although the Lakland flats look like good value if bought direct from Lakland in the US.
 8. Now withdrawn for now, will re-up sometime next year if I'm still around.
 9.
Do you know where I might find one for sale? I must have one!
Michael - you're a very naughty boy!
 10. If you wan't a "copy" of the original '57 the JV's are the way to go, but IMO the early 80's US reissues are better basses, they weren't meant to be a clone.
 11. Sold an 83 last weekend for £1500. That was the offer the buyer made after playng it for 30 seconds - since I was going to ask £1250 I didn't argue. But prices are lower than they were 2-3 years ago.
 12.
I am gonna guess leave it "as is" as anyway Paul herman will probably not answer back to your inquiry. I had the exact same thing, a wal needing a refin'... took him 7 month to get back to me.
Sounds about right, asked about a refret about 2 years back - took about 6 months to get a price. Pete always had a reputation for being difficult to get hold of (particularly close to his retirement) but I always got an answer to any query on the spot.
 13. Ok, that's an unanimous verdict - let her be.
 14.
Bump for a very decent BCer and a cracking cab - if I didn't suffer from the 'grass is always greener' syndrome (ie, GAS) I would still own John's fantastic-sounding old Wizzy 12, not the heavier Acme B2 2x10" cab I now own (and my back doesn't like me for owning!)
Thank's for the kind words Clarky. I hope everything is OK with you and the family.
 15. I'm going to have to sell my Fullerton '83 reissue burst '57. Do you think it would be worth holding on to it until it's 30th birthday? Don't these collectors have some stupid notion of a bass being "vintage" at 30?
 16. I have an early 80's Mark 1 which is one of these basses that you just can't put down when you pick it up (it has the perfect neck for me). It's had a lot of playing hours from me and the previous owners and so it shows playing wear (for example there's a depression in the body where a previous owner rested his thumb). Most of the Wal's I see for sale look as if they've never left their case. I'm probably going to have to sell this to raise cash, although I'm not sure what the market is like at the moment - a few years ago they were going for silly money in the states, but I haven't seen much activity lately. What I'm wondering is if I should get it refinished and tarted up before i sell, or leave it as it is. What do you lot think?
 17. Have put these up for sale seperately in the new classified forum - together they make a great lightweight combo.
 18. GAK are clearing out their remaining P5110 stock at £369.
