1. Don't forget your brolly and wet weather clothing!
2. How about a six string bass + cash for your Eden, Lee?
3. What is the string spacing at the bridge please? I know you said you are thinning down, but would you be open to trades?
4.
I have an eden 115xl its 8ohm, smaller and lighter and a great cab, swap with cash?
And light they are. Thanks GrimB but I've already got an Eden D115 thanks. Infact, I used it at last night's rehearsal and unplugged it at one point, leaving the 2x10 on its own. I really missed the bottom end and plugged it back in straight away. So, to be more clear, I think for the trading scenario, I'm going to confine it to an 8ohm 1x12 or 2x12. Ta.
5. Lucinda Williams > "Righteously" from 'World Without Tears'
6. I try avoid doing feelers, but this is why I'm doing it now. I've got a perfectly good Eden D410XLT in good condition that I have recently got a cover made and a set of castors from Eden's UK distributor. I'm perfectly happy with it ...it's not the pro's touring choice for nothing. However, there's some goal post shifting going on. I leave the cab in the band's trailer after gigs, and when the trailer is used for other things (like moving motorcycles) the gear comes out and lives in the guitarist's printing works. But he's saying his use of the storage area might change very soon and it would be better if I brought my gear to and from each gig. With my D115 and stuff, that's a bit difficult for me. I can probably do that with the D210 that I've just got from 2x18 but not with the 4x10. I have no photos and the cab is with the band's gear in Guiseley near Leeds, with the next gig being on the 28th March. So, I'm thinking it would be easier for all concerned if I find it a new home. But I've no photos for now and it isn't in my possesion until the 28th, hence the feeler. But if you fancied it, then it could give you time to sell anything you might need to replace. I've invested about £370 in buying the cab (from Molan) and getting the cover made and the castors in. But I'm open to offers below that. Maybe open to trade for another 8ohm (smaller) cab.
7. I bought the Eden 2x10 off Will and confirm he is a true gent and reputable purveyor of top notch bass gear. And what a nice place to live too!
8. I guess trades are out then ("calm down my EuroLX5, I was just asking the man").
9.
A couple of friends played that red on last week at the factory. They say it's very nice - If it's anything like my 4-string version, it'll be seriously good. Yes, the body looks odd, but when you're playing it the single cut design comes into it's own. Balances perfectly & sounds utterly fantastic! - Little bass, BIG ATTITUDE! Rich.
I know that the options can change the price, but what sort of budget are we talking about here, Rich? I couldn't find a price indicator on the website.
10. Excellent choice. Now added to my dream list.
11.
6 string hohner? Unless you're on about a regular guitar, I didn't know they did 6ers! Good luck with the sale though, I hear only good things about these basses
No, it is a bass! Here is the completed listing if you want to see it It hasn't arrived yet.
12. Oooh, I've been waiting to see the five string version come out, and now it has appeared on the Status website. I'd love to try one out, as the concept appeals to me.
13.
Would you be interested in a trade for a 1 year old 4 string Washburn force 4, bubinga body, thru neck and thru body stringing?, plus any cash difference!!In excellent condition. Here`s a link to bass guitar magazine review.Cheers. http://www.bassguitarmagazine.com/index.ph...=37:bassguitars
That's a nice instrument. I think Washburn do good basses at good prices. Unfortunately I can't trade on this, as effectively I already have ...by buying a six string Hohner that I am going to defret. I'm now out of pocket as a result, so a cash restoration is now needed. Thanks.
14. Seems this thread confirms that the BBs are a top choice. Sebastian Steinberg uses a 5-string Yamaha BB5000 on stage. A classic passive neck-thru with quality build. One day, I'd love to have a Yamaha top-end six string. Oh, and yes, I guess this is also a shameless plug for my superb BB415 for sale!!!!
15. Come Monday evening, this 'll be sittin' on the stock of the'Bay.
16. I wish my Shuttle could be used with headphones only i.e. speaker cut-out. Maybe you could include that in your spec? Don't suppose a built in tuner is poss eh?
17.
More details here - about two-thirds down the page.
That's got some interesting creations on it. Off topic, but I'd love to try out the first one; a 30" neck sixer.
18.
Is that a Mandolin i.e. surely it needs more strings and is therefore a Uke? Re-reads your post - Mando bass yes it counts My favourite Mandobass player Hilary James
Ha, I was just going to post a pic of Hilary & her Mandobass!
19. And here's my black beauty
20. Sometimes, a change of format helps. Like going from playing from a 4 string to playing 5 or 6 string basses. Or going from fretted to fretless. But no instrument is boring to play if you enjoy the music. Are you enjoying the music you are performing? If not, you know what to do!
21. I'm a life long admirer of Dave 'Fairport' Pegg. He's not only (IMHO) one of Britain's best bass players he also plays a neat mandolin. I'm no great shakes on mandolin, but I've just been persuaded to dust off my mando to help out with my band's rendition of Gallows Pole (and maybe JM's 'Over The Hill'). It got me thinking ...who else on Basschat has a mandolin, and let's see some pics to prove it!
22.
Coupla reasons really - I joined a blues band a few weeks ago and they rehearse in a studio loft. This amp weighs 33lbs and by the time I get to the loft I'm gasping for air - when you're my age, that ain't funny and it doesn't impress the opposite sex. Second reason is - I went to see another blues band and the bassist was using an Ashdown Mag head into an Ashdown 4x10 and it sounded beautiful - perfect for blues. I want to hang on to my Spectors and I'm hoping a warmer, woolier amp will help get that fat bluesy sound I'm looking for. They sound very hi-fi through the GB rig. I've hopefully bought a suitable amp and will have enough money over to buy a decent combo - something I've wanted for a while really. Probably makes no sense to anyone else but then, I am strange.
I liked your amp, mainly for its 2 ohm option, but TBH I can't fault my embarrasingly light Shuttle. However, I REALLY covert your Neox. I'd even NOT make you come to Harrogate to deliver it!!!! Keep with being strange my friend ...it suits you
23. Why did you sell the GBE750 Al? It seemed so right for you, especially with the neox (which I'd be interested in, if you decide to sell BTW). Was it weight/size?
24. Jolly nice.

Did you build it yourself?
Where abouts are you?
What cash price are you looking for?
What's your favourite colour winegum?
