1. Had some very strong interest in this but not managed to get anything sorted yet so thought I'd give it a little nudge up the page
2. Another big recommendation on AC basses from me. Seriously well put together & everything about them just 'works' somehow
3. How was it on the gig then WoT?
4. I went for the AE's but often pull the tweeters out as I found them a bit too bright for my ears. Stage positioning with those rear ports can be an issue (although some people like the fact that they tend to accentuate the bass more). I stick mine on an Auralex Gramma pad & have never had any problems. In the end it was the weight that swung it for me, the extra heft of the HT's meant the AE's were much easier for me to lug around. Haven't had any issues with the finish but mine did come with fitted covers
5. Only half an hour to go - c'mon someone buy this from Oli and put him out of his misery
6. Wow, just channel flipping & Cheryl Lynn pops up on an M&S advert! I have this on 12" somewhere along with Encore: Gotta love the male dancers on this vid, lol
7.
MB1. ...Blimey Barry!...Where d'ya keep getting these tasty basses from? ...have you found a hole in the doctor of basses fence?
I wish - I reckon I could snaffle a few & Nick wouldn't even notice This was actually a PX bass and I was always pretty certain I'd sell it onwards. Most interest coming from Euro country at the moment.
8.
Wouldn't be a hard job to do, local Luthier's calling, its already setup. I prefer it fretless. The cost would probably take you up to half the price of a new USA still in as new condition.
Not that expensive to get something fretted these days
9. My current favourite slice of funk - Down to the Bone, The Brighter Side Julian Crampton (who else!) on bass. . .
10. As someone who's owned quite a few high & lower end basses all I can say is that you really can tell the difference as you move up the scale. Of course there will be some expensive basses that don't hit the mark, or simply don't suit the player but others just get better & better. My current favourite is a Celinder and I think this sums this maxim up perfectly. At the end of the day it's simply a J bass 'copy' but it's just soooo much better than any other J derivative 4 string I've ever played. Nothing flashy, no expensive custom wood top, no great bank of tone controls and switching options etc. but just a fabulous bass to play. I recently 'tested' it fairly extensively over a period of a few days against a very good £700 value bass and another worth around £1,100 & it just killed them both in so many ways. Both of them were really very nice basses in their own way and if I could only afford the £700 one I would be more than happy with it, same goes for the £1,100 (these are used values by the way, probably £950 & £1,800 new). New it would cost about £3.5K - is it 'worth' more than a £700 bass and/or is it 5 times better, absolutely not. Would I choose it ahead of the £700 bass - every time. . .
11.
I fonly my Granny were still alive, I'd be able to sell her. Bumpola for a stunning bass.
Dig her up, might still be worth something
12. I'm all for Fender improving and expanding their range but one thing I've never quite understood is the "if only Fender made a bass that was like/as good as a Sadowsky". If Sadowsky make a bass which is as good as a Sadowsky why not just buy a Sadowsky instead of wanting Fender to build a 'copy'? Not taking a pop at anyone here I promise, just not quite seeing the point of wanting a Fender to make something that is like one of the 'super-jazz' basses out there (unless they drastically undercut them on price and match them on genuine quality & keep resale value").
13. Looks like this is sold again already & heading to Wales
14.
Unless Polish Kilos are different from UK Kilos then 4.3 of them are actually 9.5lbs
Ah ha - that sounds more like it!
15.
4,3KG = 7,4 lbs
Wow, I've never seen a Fender that weighs so little! Usually needs a chambered body to come in under 8lbs.

17. I accepted an offer on this at £2K shipped to Europe (which nets out at around £1,925) but the buyer has decided he doesn't want it after all. Price therefore extended to any BC'ers Definite sale only & cash / direct bank transfer at this price though. . .
18. Deal all done on this but buyer had to pull out (not his fault - got hit with a nasty last minute bill!) so back up for sale. I'd offered him a deal at £1,250 for cash (or direct bank transfer) only so happy to extend this to the rest of the Bc community
19. I'd agree on pricing - cheapest I've ever seen in the States is around $2,500 (for a KPB4 which doesn't have the electronics of the LG / LM / RA series). That's £1,625 over here but as soon as you add shipping at about £100 and import duties then you're over £2K pretty quickly. Bearing in mind this is bottom end pricing and without any frills you can hit £2.5K for an LG. Add Nitro & a Dalbergia Negra board (if you can find one) and that £3.5K price approaches very quickly indeed. . .
20. Unrelenting GAS may mean this could head for the Bay soon - it won't be any less but it'll open up to a wider European market
21. How do you always find such interesting basses!
22.
I've played this also and its wonderful. Such an amazing sounding bass with so many tonal options. You must be mad to sell this Barry.
If something else sells then I'll hang on to it, lol. And sell, something else did
23.
How much (ballpark) are you talking about for an LG5 second hand? (braces for impact and subsequent sharp intake of breath!)
Lots of variables and they can make a huge difference to the price (both new & used). Nitro finish and upgraded fingerboards are both expensive & very desirable options.
24.
I have a gif on Saturday so I'll know more after that...
Animated or static. . ?
25.
I played this bass, it was a laugh. I'd love to own it Great sounding too.
I think it's the core sound that surprises most people - it genuinely does sound really nice and, even with a muppet like me playing it, you really can get a Bootsy-alike tone through an auto-wah
