I asked some questions about the sonic differences between EMGs & stock pickups - he's gone a bit quiet. Probably riding on his hoby horse. . .

It's looking pretty fake to me - I just got an email reply: "Yes my product is still available" "i am in USA now with my band.If you want me to ship the product all costs will be suported by me" "We are 4 members and we sing rock music. It is our hoby"

Hasn't this one come up before? I could be mistaken but I'm sure I remember a decent vintage P that appeared on Gumtree in about 4-5 different parts of the country?

Anyone know what the latest subs 'gift' is? It was a set of Rotosounds last time I looked?

Sounds like a nice idea. The clever thing (for me anyway) is that I'd never have the patience to tweak away on my settings until I found the perfect one. However my TC is already loaded with three pre-sets taken straight from people at TB & they are all really usable. Being able to exchange settings & compare notes via mail or forum that have been created by someone who really knows what they are doing sounds really useful
I believe this is a Japanese UV70 Metro instead (do not get me wrong, they are also very good indeed). First of all, USA instruments have a slightly different logo on the headstock, that says "Sadowsky Guitars - NYC", and second because Roger says that blocks and binding are not available even as an option on NYC instruments (I've asked him personally and it's also on the website). Moreover, the asking price for a similar NYC would be higher. Nonetheless a great bass
Thanks for that - I assumed it was Japanese because I couldn't ever remember seeing blocks on an NYC

I have a few different single guitar stands but I generally have 4-5 basses out in my study at any one time so I thought one of those multi-stands would take up less floor space. I haven't really seen anything that looks 100% perfect yet. First thing I saw were the Warwick Rockstands: Looks Ok but I was worried about the lack of spacing brackets at the bottom of the stand - might lead to bodies bashing against each other if put back a bit clumsily or the stand was knocked etc. Then I saw the Hercules stands: I have a Hercules stand at the moment and it works really well. Very different design to this one though. Bit worried that this one might not be that stable if it didn't have all 5 slots occupied? I don't really need one that folds down into a road case as it'll never leave my study once it's set up!

Don't think this has been posted yet: Here's a 'live' version from Soul Train which opens with the bass man playing the riff with a pick. Faster than the original but the suits & dancing are worth a look, lol:
That stage could be helpful for a masterclass amongst other things Look forward to hearing from you on this one Molan T
Shall I just ask for availability for any Sunday in June?

The North London School has been closed for Easter but they are back tomorrow so I'll re-contact and make sure it's all Ok Did we have a confirmed date or still flexible in June somewhere - sorry, I lost track of the nominations The main hall there is a very good space by the way. Has a stage we could use if required There's one pub in reasonable walking distance - http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/79/...k/New_Southgate
Soz... http://www.oxfordguitargallery.com/Specials/Default.aspx Click basses.
Their server seems to run at the speed of a slug! It took an age for the images to load - if I was a 'casual' browser I wouldn't have bothered waiting. I checked other sites and my connection here is fine so must be on their side
Price is fair. Their RS210 went up by £80 now that's wrong, good job I got mine before the price rise.
It's very sneaky really - some retailers have been listing these as 'in stock' @ £370 for the past month but are now quoting £450. That's blatent profiteering as they've simply added £80 to the price of old stock that they'd purchased before the price rise! Some of them are even advertising at £370 but quote the new price if you contact them. . .
Thanks for all the advice - to be fair we do discuss each gig in detail afterwards. Think the idea to work on the first three is a good one - even though they have been picked as being tight.
The tip about rehearsing them as if you're at a gig is a really good one to remember. Set up at rehearsal as close as possible to gig positions (which usually means you'll be positioned on top of the dummer, lol) and even practice any sort of in between patter. Feels a bit 'silly' at first but this is really 'proper' rehearsing for live performance rather than just practicing songs you already know

I'm in the 'respect them both but find their music difficult to listen to' camp. If I had to vote then I'd go for Flea purely because I prefer RHCP's music. Level 42 leave me colder than cold but I can only take RHCP in relatively small doses as well. I do remember seeing some Flea / Chad Smith workout stuff that was really good though
