  1. Presumably he's not been inside to look when it's been switched on, or is he now glow-in-the-dark blue as well?
  2. Hi, welcome to the madhouse. We're 99% polite over here, so stick with us over TalkBass Playing will build finger strength over time, I've never done any finger excersises beyond a few scale repetitions to warm up a bit. Timing: Keep it simple and slow down. Get a simple 12 bar repeating pattern and concentrate on hitting the start of the bar, but there's no point starting at full speed, you'll only get frustrated. Tips wise, play what you like. If you like Taylor Swift, learn Taylor Swift songs. If you don't enjoy the music you're trying to play you'll get bored and stop playing it.
  3. Any update @Hobbayne? Did you go quietly, passive aggressive quietly or are you in hiding after going postal?
  4. I want someone to buy one of these for me!
  5. Turn up late to rehearsal, lock the door and burn the place down? Well, it worked for the Saxons anyway.
  6. *starts watching a certain persons ebay account for "6 String Conversion for Fat Fingered Farmers or Builders Guitar"*
  7. This absolutely. Then you can have something for the Most Acrimonious Band Breakup thread as well 😉
  8. Found a single set. Ping me a PM if you want them
  9. I've always been unapologetically a pick player, previously I used Dunlop Tortex 0.6, but then I was given a sample pack from Rombo by my sister and these are my new favourites. https://rombopicks.com/de/products/rombo-guitar-pick-set-origami-eco-black-4-guitar-picks
  10. 20 forums in 2 posts?
  11. Nice. I have to query, because it's making my pedantism itch, is "but we're joint at the hip" between 0.33 and 0.35 deliberate rather than the usual "joined at the hip"? If so then I'll shut up. I like the song and the video though
  12. Do we know how many badges are available and what criteria you need? I have Hero and Great Content, which you get after getting 100 TLRTs
  13. This is a curiosity question about the forum mechanics. Regarding the Lorne Peakman BC Rich thread, it's referenced in Sascha's thread but the link is now saying I don't have permission to see it. Fair enough, I read it before it disappeared and don't need to see it again. My question is though, does that mean that threads can't be deleted, or they can be deleted but the info message for a link on a deleted thread shows a permissions error rather than a no longer available one? I'm just interested mechanically why a deleted thread throws a permissions error rather than a removed message. Also, can thread authors remove their own threads? We can't take our own duplicate posts out, so are threads treated as a different entity somehow?
  14. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable singing into something that looks like a mechanical Facehugger.
  15. I thought you meant 50mm diameter....
  16. Sorry, you're using a 50mm router bit? That's nearly as wide as the neck pocket!
  17. Out of curiosity, looking at where @lvrossem is placing his fingers, where is the "correct" place to put them? I have always played using the middle of the gap between the fretwire, so over the dot. It works for me and has done for the last 35 years () so I'm not changing now.
  18. Push the boat out and get it sign written
  19. You mean C CCC Bb Bb | G GGG F Eb | ?
  20. Not only that, but it's constrained by the hole it's in, even if the plug does split it has no room to expand so the screw will still be held in. With a pilot hole to remove the material that's in the way of the screw you'll be fine drilling and plugging.
  21. One of those "You really can't work it out, sell your basses you moron" questions, but what notes are the very last two bars of Peaches? The penultimate two are |D# D#D#D# C# C# |A# A#A#A# G# F# | but the next two are a tone higher that I can't find. Or is it an octave higher and not different notes?
  22. See what the BC Swear Aunty makes of this, it's not my fault! I've been in a band called Firef***er since February. From what I understand the name comes from a song by Helge Schneider and was the result of needing a name but not being able to think of one beforehand. They've been going for a while and were a typical rock covers party band but had a bit of a rethink over Covid, caused in part by the death of one of the founders, and they're now a Stranglers cover band, the long term plan is to include some originals as well once we have a solid ground to build on. https://www.youtube.com/@MrPardoned I'm not on any of those BTW, they're from before I joined, but maybe we'll do some more videos soon. Our first gig is on the 18th of October. I'm 50/50 excited/runnning around going "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" We're based on the northern outskirts of Rendsburg in Schleswig Holstein, I doubt I'll see any of you at a gig anytime soon!
  23. UK Subs on Friday evening at Wacken. I was intending to watch Papa Roach but given the swamp in front of the stage and how far back I was I decided to see who else was on and stuck with them. I enjoyed it more than Papa Roach to be honest even though I don't know any of their stuff.
  24. C'mon Si, you know how it works around here. If someone has a problem than can be solved by GAS always suggest that first .
